There was a light tap, tap, tap on the back window near the dining room. Kelvin ran to the window and cranked it open to find Keefe standing in his Momma’s garden with a handful of pebbles, donning ripped black jeans and a cropped vintage X-Men shirt that he had since High School.
“Keefe!” Kelvin hollered down to him. “What are you doing, throwing rocks at my Daddy’s window?”
Keefe’s face lights up [...]“Well, I know it’s against Dr. and Mrs. Gemstone’s rules for you to have a boy over,” Keefe shrugs and smiles coyly. “Maybe I could sneak in through that window?”
