After the cycle resets, Dan Heng finds himself alone. So he waits and reflects.
"Another minute. Another hour. Another day. Another year. Time seems to melt and blur into itself until it becomes one endless, indistinguishable mass. Every time he closes his eyes he almost wishes they wouldn’t reopen, that he could stay in that world of worn memories, its sights and sounds a familiar path he has trod many times. In that world, his friends are laughing and fighting, there is danger but they are together. In that world, he’s not alone.

Sometimes Harumasa is a little too selfless and Wise is a little too cautious. Luckily they have people around to talk sense back into them.

Summary
Caelus starts noticing that Dan Heng has become strange around him in a way that goes beyond his usual quiet protectiveness. He is always there, always watching, always tense whenever Caelus slips out of sight. What begins as confusion turns into something much more dangerous and much more tender when Dan Heng is finally forced to admit the truth. His Vidyadhara instincts have fixated on Caelus. Protective, possessive, deeply territorial, and humiliatingly affectionate, they keep driving him to gather pieces of Caelus close and build a hidden nest around the one thing his dragon mind has decided is most precious.
Caelus should probably be alarmed. Instead, he is fascinated. As Dan Heng’s control begins to fray, Caelus finds himself drawn deeper into the parts of him that are usually hidden away. Horns, scales, ancient instincts, quiet yearning, and all the soft terrifying want Dan Heng does not know how to ask for.
Or Dan Heng’s dragon instincts decide Caelus is his treasure, and Caelus reacts to that information with far less self-preservation than he probably should.

Joker prepares to charge into battle, trusting Mona to take care of unattended injuries. The moment he pushes forth though, Crow abruptly stops.
He even drops a struggling Panther, letting her fall to the floor where she wheezes for air. Violet rushes to her side to pull her out of Crow's immediate vicinity, carefully keeping an eye on him.
Crow just keeps staring at Joker, an unreadable expression in his glowing eyes, their intensity positively bone melting.
Joker's never been afraid of Crow.
