“So—um,” Natsuo says next, “Do you and Hawks know each other at all? We invited Hawks-san because we like to have lunch with him. Sorry for the surprise—but the more the merrier, right?”
Dabi slurps noodles once more.
“Did you…um,” Fuyumi adds next, “ever run into each other?”
“I tried to kill him,” Dabi says next. “I burned his wings.”
There’s a squeak. Natsuo’s and Fuyumi’s eyes widen.
“Don’t worry,” Hawks reassures. “I lived.”
“Stubborn bastard,” Dabi grumbles almost immediately. He lifts the bowl to sip broth. “I threw him out a window.”
“I lived then, too,” Hawks reassures before they can have another scandalized gasp. “Don’t worry. It’s how he shows his affection.”

Post-war, Todoroki Touya is pardoned from his crimes, while Hawks gains a new title: the Dabi Whisperer.
In which the Todorokis do their absolute best by Touya, and Hawks helps. Very sweet and hopeful, with a helping of silliness.

Golden irises stare from below—far lower to the ground than five seconds ago. Hawks’s black and gold compression shirt—which once clung to him like a second skin—now drapes like a dress to tiny knees. A small fist clutches the spitball in one meager hand. Headphones slip off a much smaller head, almost swallowing the kid’s narrow frame whole.
Dabi is speechless. Twice is speechless. That nitwit rookie is cackling.
“BEHOLD!” The dimwit roars. “A baby!”

He was sold. His parents bargained with Death like he was just a simple drachma. They streamlined his whole life to get to death.
Hades, however, only sighs. In a lot of ways, Death is comforting. It comes, eventually, even if it’s not always expected. Even when it shouldn’t be that mortal’s time.
“There isn’t an easy way to say this,” the King of the Dead says eventually, “but your contract is complete.”
