Summary
Spider watches the fire at mealtimes and shovels food he-can-actually-eat into his mouth and laughs and tries not to think of Varang, and her wide, unblinking eyes, and the prickle of his neck. He looks at Jake, at Neytiri, at them giving him food and patting his back and calling his name and all he can think is: the forest, his knees cold, his hands trembling, the dull thud of his heart.
He might be accepted, now, he might be able to make tsaheylu and breathe the air and feel like he’s finally living, but he’s sure as hell not home.
Spider's life is better than it's ever been - but there's one thought he can't get out of his mind.

Dick nods. Behind him, Tim presses his head to Dick’s back, whispering a “Yes, pwease.”The night Dick's parents are killed, Tim's are, too.

Summary
It’s almost easier, when Kiri drags him to the ylltxep, when Tuk talks to him at the shore, or laughs at an ilu, when Lo’ak stares at him like he’s trying to find words for something he can’t say, when Tsireya asks if he is okay, because then he can pretend to be normal, for a little bit, even if it squeezes the breath out of his lungs. Then he can pretend there isn’t a gaping whirlpool in his chest, dragging him under. It’s easy, until they leave, and then all that’s left is him and his thoughts, lead on his tongue.
Spider, after.

Summary
Dad watches him in the morning, critical, assessing. “Stayed up, did you?”
At least Dad didn’t hear him sneak back in. “Yeah,” Tim says. “You know how it is.”
Dad frowns. “You’re a growing boy. You should be sleeping early.”
Tim swallows. “Sometimes I can’t help it,” he says, instead, and something flickers in Dad’s eyes. Tim shoves his guilt to the back of his mind. Dad doesn’t know - Dad doesn’t need to know. It would just make everything more complicated.
Tim is being stalked by Sebastian Ives. Unfortunately, this is the least of his problems: his Dad is finally awake from his coma and is getting suspicious; and, worse, there’s a killer running around in Gotham, targeting kids and rich heirs to fortunes - and Tim is beginning to worry he - or Bruce - might be next.
