It was a picture.
Of Nat.
But not the kind of picture she was expecting.
Nat was in the photo, yes, but she wasn’t wearing her usual oversized hoodie or the band tee she always seemed to live in. No, this was different. She was—oh god—wearing nothing but a really pretty set of underwear.
And... fuck. Is this a nude?

Summary
It was them against everything.
Every night they weren’t falling apart, they were doing homework at the kitchen table in the Palmers’ trailer. Sharing headphones. Rewriting essays. Practicing college interview questions they’d probably never get asked.
They worked because they had no other option.
They were tired. They were bruised. They were good.
And they were going to get the hell out, even if it killed them.

Summary
When Jackie thought of soccer in any capacity, the thing that never came to mind was a blue jersey with the Italian badge stamped over the heart and the scrawny, scrappy winger on the Yellowjackets that drank too much and skipped class to smoke.
But there she was.
Natalie Scatorccio, arms crossed over her chest and staring straight down the barrel of the camera.

Summary
The smile on Lottie’s face is teasing, like she knows something Nat doesn’t, or like she’s undressing Nat with her eyes. But that’s just her smile. It’s the same smile she’s had on her face all night. Then again, when Nat thinks back on the night, all the way up to that hallway backstage, she can’t remember a time when Lottie wasn’t looking at her. Yet Nat doesn’t think she minds it.
