“He goes for runs in the mornings,” Dean tells her, “wakes up at the hairy asscrack of dawn. He’s trying to be a vegetarian. I think this is like his fourth attempt. Never finishes his coffee—he leaves dregs in the bottom of the cup and it stains all the goddamn mugs. He broke his arm in fourth grade climbing a tree. He hates clowns, like a lot, which is only partially my fault, and he listens to Celine Dion in his room where he thinks I can’t hear it—”
“Dean.”
They stop at another red light, robbing him of any excuse not to look at her. He keeps his eyes forward anyway. “You’re gonna love Sam,” he says quietly. His throat bobs as he swallows. “Mom, I promise. You know, it—” He breaks off with a bitter laugh. “Honestly, Sam’s easy. You should be way more worried about not liking me.”

Based on this text post from thebloggerbloggerfun: "Listen, imagine Eileen sneaking out of Sam’s room at night to go to the bathroom or something and steps out into the hallway in one of Sam’s shirts only to see Cas trying to quietly leave Dean’s room while wearing one of Dean’s shirts and they both just stare at each other awkwardly for a few seconds before trying to muffle quiet laughter and now they have a late night club where they talk about life and gossip about the Winchesters in sign language"

Dean is AWOL, so Cas rides shotgun. Sam does his best to fill the silence with an entirely academic inquiry into the nature of Enochian pronouns and their relation, or lack thereof, to the gender of human vessels.

Summary
Two years post-canon, Dean and Cas are still hunting, but their hearts aren’t in it. When Dean gets hurt on a hunt (and it’s not the first time), this leads to an argument about who exactly has dibs on self-sacrifice, and brings to the surface some outdated beliefs of Dean’s about the kind of care he deserves. Dean thinks Cas should put him in his place. Cas does, but not how Dean expects, and in the process, they have a much-needed talk about their future.
