The twenty-two square miles of Manhattan feels like nothing when David sees Patrick everywhere. The coffee shop on the corner where they met, the Italian place in the West Village where they had their second date, even the sign for the C train that Patrick used to take from his job in the Financial District to David’s gallery in Soho. David sees Patrick’s face in all of it.

    David and Patrick broke up months ago, but living with the memories has been hard for them both.
