"Zanka doesn't know when it began. There was a lingering feeling in the air, a faint smell of iron, like he was actively being haunted by something, someone. An unsettling feeling drooped in his stomach, hollowing him from the inside out. It had become familiar in a sort of twisted way.
He questioned it, of course; at first, at least. But he never detected anyone following him, and nobody else understood his concerns, so he simply blamed his heightened senses from a lifetime of training. Everything on the ground could smell of iron, since there was so much trash.
And he couldn't quite tell what it would be, if not the pollution mixed with the environment. The smell was a little dizzying at times, when it got stronger, leaving him somewhat dazed for a couple of seconds. But it happened rarely, and it was easy to ignore. Maybe the sleepless nights were catching up to him?"
aka Zanka gets his life saved by his stalking-inclined masochistic rival, and confronting him goes awfully off the rails.

“Got held up,” Jabber slurred, a wide, unfocused grin spreading across his face. He swayed on his feet, his hot pink eyes struggling to land on Zanka. “Traffic was a bitch.”
Zanka couldn’t shake his attention from the blood clinging to Jabber.
“How many?” The question was out before Zanka could stop it. It wasn’t his business. It shouldn’t be his business. But the smell, the state of him… it painted a vivid, ugly picture.
“Now, now. Can’t be tellin’ the enemy my boss’s plans, can I?” Jabber took a shuffling step closer. “That’s classified Raider intel, baby. You wanna know, you gotta trade somethin’ for it.”

Jabber’s ears pricked, his attention caught immediately. Perhaps this would be the time Zanka would finally beat him senseless. He was getting closer every time.
Just thinking about it made him bite his lip again, stifling the excited groan that threatened to escape. Fighting Zanka was just what he needed.
“...nka’s in critical condition…”
Jabber’s attention snapped back to Cthoni in a heartbeat. “Hold up, backtrack. Who is in critical condition?”
Cthoni sighed, not even attempting to hide her irritation. “Listen to me the first time I tell you, brat."
