But the day finally comes after Peter’s been Alpha for nearly six months that his eyes open and he tracks Derek around the room. His eyes settle on blue and his throat works around the tube, rasping something that sounds like ‘water’, might be ‘what’, could be ‘wait’. Derek barely has time to blink at him, startled, before his eyes are closed and he’s gone again.

Summary
Tilting his head back he can see the blur of magic, his magic in fact, waving like a flag in the air, too big for the tree to blot out. It’s too giant to have ever fit inside him, surely.
He reaches out his hand to it because he’s loopy as hell and it’s really pretty and it cranes towards him, soaking into his skin and clogging his throat with tears as it opens his airways a bit more. The rush of oxygen lets him realise – he’s dying, his heart working at a mad pace as it tries to find blood that just isn’t there anymore. His skin is pulled tight over his bones, the gasping sound in his ears coming from deep in his own chest. But his magic is here, pumping his heart for him in the gaps where it’s starting to falter, churning what’s left of his mind up like silt in a pond. He lurches back to the Nemeton, bracing himself hard when he almost slams down into its roots.

Harry Potter reacts much differently to the Dementor attack on his cousin and it causes a cascade of changes in the lives of everyone he knows. He takes advantage of some old traditions to escape the predetermined path he has been set on.
“Somehow you found me a more acceptable confidant,” Snape said, in a tone that implied that Harry’s brain might be faulty.

Summary
Severus Snape doesn't think Albus' plan to martyr Potter will work out and knows nothing of the secret setup to give Harry a chance to live through the killing curse a second time. He decides that what they really needed was to start hunting the Horcruxes years ago instead of waiting for children to do it for them. He sends back his private notes and everything needed to brew a potion to strip off the spells that are restricting his behavior. He expects that his younger self will receive the information in 1992 at best.
On the Summer Solstice, 1985, a listless Severus Snape is surprised by a generous and lucrative gift from his future self.
Featuring: Reluctant schemer turned proud parent. A secret adoption. Narcissa Malfoy and most of the Hogwarts staff trying to get Snape married. Lord Prince decides that a half-blood grandson is better than no grandson, provided he's invented something impressive enough to make up for it. Snape moonlighting as an undercover pedo-catcher to keep his spy skills sharp. The Hogwarts Staff Room betting pool.
