Silmarillion series in Valinor/Middle-Earth :) (Rather incesty though, but they're Elves so I guess it's different?? Small population and all that?)

Summary
After multiple millennia and much healing in the Halls of Mandos, Maitimo was ready to be reborn and finally live in peace with his family and his beloved husband. However, when the Valar announce that they will be giving one of them a chance to go back and help take down Sauron once and for all, he offers himself for the quest. Not only does he have the highest chances of not being recognised -now that he has the right hröa, that is- but he has a younger brother to find and drag back home to their family, as well as a son to apologise to.
Sauron never really stood a chance.

This story shook me. Trans Maedhros intrigued me, so I read it and??? THIS. I've loved Maedhros and Maglor since I read the Silmarillion, and Fëanor's Oath really captivated me. This had so many Quenya names my head spun, and tested my Silm knowledge at every turn, but I loved it all the more for it. This story has a great balance of canon lore and non-canon elements, viewed in the final brushstroke of a grand mural. I cried, laughed, and felt along with the characters (and it was nice to see them being the House of Finwë once again :D)

Summary
A crack AU in which every Elf worth their Elvenness carries an instrument around, and bursts into a song at such appropriate moments as while trying to get up the walls of an enemy fortress. Oh wait, that's actually canon.

I LOVE this. Arda, but every elf carries an instrument. Imagine the poor fëa tied to an organ, or an octobass! I suppose I am privileged that 3/4 of my instruments are easy to carry. (Yet, those around me gravitate towards larger and larger instruments for the uniqueness)
