Summary
Rumi had been a mistake from the moment she was conceived. Life was not something she deserved to enjoy, and must instead live through her own pain and misery. Coming to terms with a life filled with suffering and mundanity had been her only plan, entirely ready to take what she deserves.
Her life begins to change into something she does not know how to handle, and the people in her around are strangely committed to making a difference for her.

Summary
Her boot catches the edge of a tile—barely a slip, just a half step too short—and she stumbles.
And suddenly it’s years ago. Another rooftop. Another fall.
“You lost your balance.”
Celine’s voice, cool as the blade in her hand.
“Demons won’t give you second chances, Rumi.”
The rod glows white-hot as it strikes across her back. She doesn’t scream. She never screams.
Pain means improvement. Weakness must be purged. Mistakes are fuel.
OR
basically a rewrite of canon (before the reveal) but Rumi has a more tragic past. Celine manipulated Rumi into using her as a demon test subject and used pain as a motivator for improvement.
The memories that haunt Rumi cause her to pull away, and the girls try to figure out why.*Zoey and Mira follow Rumi to Celine’s after the idol awards reveal (ch6)*

Summary
Rumi sucks in a breath, releasing her shoulders to the best of her ability. She spreads her fingers wide in the carpet in front of her, claws extending before she sheepishly pulls them back. Mira and Zoey watch the display with an unreadable expression when Rumi eventually offers:
”So what do you want to know?”
Mira leans up with a lethal grace, her face inches from Rumi as she searches the half-demon’s gaze.
"I want to know how it was so easy for you to lie to us.”
or
Shame, it turns out, should not be hand fed. Rumi learns that the hard way when her patterns refuse to fade after the Honmoon is sealed. She thought fulfilling a ritual bigger than herself might finally make her lovable. Maybe even whole. But the aftermath is murkier than she expected.
Defeating Gwi-Ma should’ve been cause for celebration. And yet the girls who fought side by side can hardly look each other in the eye. Lies sit heavy, grief lingers, and nothing feels quite like it should. Follow Rumi, Mira, and Zoey as they try to piece together what’s left between them, even as something more demonic, more aching claws its way out from deep inside Rumi.

Summary
Her grip faltered, her fingers loosening on the fabric, but she didn’t let go. Her heart was hammering in her chest, loud enough she swore Bellatrix could hear it.
Suddenly, she didn’t know whether she wanted to punch the woman or melt into her. Or perhaps, show Bellatrix with her teeth exactly what she thought of her wretched philosophy.
Or:
Hermione Granger returns to Hogwarts to complete her final year, believing the war is behind her – until someone goes missing and her only lead is the infuriatingly uncooperative Bellatrix Lestrange. Their partnership is doomed to explode… though not quite in the way she expects.
