The smartest thing to do was put the blankets at the top of the stack. He probably should have invested in clear bins and not the black ones that he had decorated with some random stickers when he was tossing stuff in there. If he hadn't done that he wouldn't be freezing his ass off.
His hands were achy from the cold and his arms sore from lifting. His stringbean arms (he hated Gerard for coining that and himself for agreeing with it) could only take so much.
“If he was here, he could use his strong muscles…” Mikey groaned, feeling defeated by the task that came to be because of his own stupidity. If he was here, I wouldn't be freezing to death…Mikey Way loves his boyfriend. Even if they are both a bit different.

“Mikey, I’m going out for a bit,” Gerard called up the stairs.
Mikey’s head popped around the corner of the hall and looked at his older brother from above the glasses perched far down the bridge of his nose.
“You never go out.” Mikey observed. “Where are you going?”
Gerard was getting good at lying about this sort of thing, not for his own sake, but it was easier to do now that it had been going on for a couple months. It had been especially tough when it came to Mikey. The younger Way sibling knew something had been up with Gerard but decided not to mention it – just quietly observed.
