Summary
South Park was a town where anything could happen. And anything did happen. Perhaps that was why no one batted an eye when Timothy Burch was electrocuted by lightning the summer before his transition into highschool. Weirder things happened in the town on the weekly- weirder things had happened to Timmy himself last month.
Timmy quickly got to work reaching out to a select group of his peers, inviting them to work with him. For some he used their senses of justice, others the promise of fame- and some just wanted the abilities for cool powers. Nevertheless, by the time summer break ended and highschool life had begun, Dr. Timothy had amassed a group of 10 superheros.
They called themselves the Freedom Pals. Dr. Timothy had made a point to keep most of the groups identities secret from each other, giving the heros the choice to reveal themselves. He had inventions to alter the sounds of their voices, and most of Timothy’s creations had the side effect of warping the wearer's perception. In this way, as long as the Freedom Pals were using his inventions, they wouldn’t be able to draw the obvious connections as to who their teammates might be in the civilian world.

Summary
Wendy couldn’t move.
It was strange. She’d stood on countless stages and played for thousands, but standing here, watching him, she felt like just another kid in the audience again. That same dizzy little awe she’d had back when she was playing open mic nights for fifteen people.
Stan, she thinks his name is, wasn’t trying to control the crowd—but he was controlling them, whether he liked it or not. Like clockwork, they swayed, surged, then collided into each other as the breakdown hit, his head thrashing back and forth to the beat. The pit exploded in front of him as if on cue.
It's 2017. Wendy's been in the mainstream music business since she was fourteen, while Stan is the lead singer for the hot, up-and-coming band Crimson Dawn. He's a dreamer, a romantic, and she's not. In spite of this, they unexpectedly seem to be in each other's orbit. This will either be the best or worst thing for them and their careers.
