Summary
Howard Stark had been – well – not a very good father. Neglectful, emotionally abusive, and known to lose his temper and slap him round the head every once in a while. Tony would rather die than turn out like Howard or subject a child to the same treatment. He could definitely do better than his old man.
And that’s the tipping point.
Maybe he won’t be a model parent, but he’ll sure as hell be a better dad than Howard. He’s going to make the goddamn man roll in his grave.

No, this was something distinctly different.OR
Ed gets injured on what was supposed to be a routine mission, but nobody's telling him anything, and people are being a little *too* kind to him. As he navigates his recovery- and discovering what happened- he might find something he's had all along: family.

In one of the rare instances in which his father had talked to Ed instead of in his general direction, he had said that there were hundreds of souls in his body. He had said it with the same certainty that one might say the sky was blue and the grass was green. Mom never acted like it was unusual, so Ed figured it was okay.
