I seldom (as in: NEVER) post public bookmarks but this is an incredible read that deserves more hits. I hate time-shifting stories because they're a cheat (even when JK writes them) and seldom play out just how hard it is to return to the past without leaving big, bloody footprints that impact what *was* the present. English doesn't even have vocabulary to easily discuss the multi-verse (even fictionally).
Yet this work manages to do so. In it is the confusion, the disorientation, the frustration, the feelings of displacement and the risks -- the genuine risks of getting it all wrong. Even the brightest with of her age can require do-overs.
This story had to be read and considered -- no skimming, it won't work (and believe me, I tried...). Thought and mental imagery are required. Words must move slowly across the brain as eyes move slowly across the screen, But it is worth reading this as reading used to be before the internet. Because this is a story from a time when plotting and world-building were the reason we all read for pleasure. JK took us back to that (which is precisely why we all read/write/critique HP fan fiction -- and why she's beyond wealthy); so does this tale of the immortality of love.
