She didn’t turn Maul loose. Not completely. Let him out of containment, yes, but only to clasp a pair of electric binders around his wrists, and practically drag the bitterly sarcastic Sith through the ship’s vents and back corridors to the escape pods. Ahsoka shoved him into one, launched the entire bank as a distraction, and went to find Rex.
She still wondered if it was the right choice to make.
If anything she’d done since then was right.
She got Rex’s chip out. They sabotaged the ship’s hyperdrive to drop the Tribunal back into realspace, then ran for the hangar. Getting the ship caught in a moon’s gravity well hadn’t been part of the plan, but there wasn’t exactly anything they could do about it after the fact. Scrambling aboard the one hyper-capable shuttle in the midst of blasterfire, Ahsoka couldn't afford to spare a thought for what would happen when the Tribunal crashed.
There was plenty of time to think about it after she and Rex launched themselves to safety, though. And especially during the long flight to Mustafar, after they got a call through to Padme...
