    Summary

He couldn’t help but laugh as he sat in the middle of the warehouse. It echoed, bouncing off the walls until it was all he heard. The laughing, a high pitched giggle that only got louder and louder until his throat was hoarse. He was probably rocking back and forth, he always did. But Papa didn’t like that. He never liked that. Just wanted him to sit still and laugh until his voice was gone. If he chewed on his finger nails until blood splashed on his tongue then he’d get punished. But he couldn’t stop. Just kept giggling. Kept rocking. Until the sharp sting of skin breaking on his fingers made him stop. He was still, silent.

    Summary

“All right, lad, why don't you just start from the top?”

Tim took a deep breath. The man before him was a “specialist” that Bruce had called in to help them. Constantine, he was pretty sure the name was. John Constantine was a British dude that reeked heavily of cigarettes and alcohol. He wore a long, khaki trench coat and had a five o’clock shadow, even though it was only eleven. He didn’t seem too impressive to Tim, but Batman seemed to trust him, so that was good enough.

    Summary

“Trust us,” Dick said. “You do not need to do this. You do not need to choose this. If you were looking for permission,” he continued softly, gesturing at the gravestone behind them, “then you have it. You are free to let this go.”

“Be happy,” Damian finished, pushing out the words with much difficulty.

At the crossroads of choosing love or the cowl, a broken Bruce Wayne—not yet Batman, not fully, not quite—begs his dead parents for absolution.

In a twist of deus ex machina, the Robins witness this moment in time. They have a solution.
