Summary
"This should have been gold," Allura murmurs as she fastens the collar around Shiro's throat. "Solid gold, warm to the touch. That's what you would have had, had you been my imperial consort."
Shiro and Allura both want things that they're not supposed to want. Shiro, surprisingly, is the one who's okay with that.

Summary
“So, what’re doing all the way out here?” Matt asks. “I’m flattered, but I’m not exactly a rebel asset anymore. Pidge has known where I am for a while and this is the first time you’ve visited; you haven’t been jumping at the chance to see me. Why now?”
“No, I haven’t,” Shiro admits. “I thought the past should stay in the past.”
“Wow, wouldn’t that be great,” Matt says. “The past in the past. Just imagine.”
“I’m here for a reason,” Shiro says.
Matt snorts. “Ah. So not just to see me again.”
“No,” Shiro says. “I’m here for a favor. A really big one.”
After a close call with Lotor’s forces, Shiro and Allura reach out to Matt for help. This might get more complicated than they expected.

Summary
“You are toast, Kogane,” Lance chants, aflush with impending victory, “you are toast, you are yesterday’s burned bread, I’m gonna kick your ass so hard you’ll have bruises for the next week, I am the fucking king of Rainbow Ro—”
“Do you want to have sex with me?” Keith blurts out.
Koopa Troopa goes zooming off the road, hurtling into total blank nonexistence, which is convenient, considering that’s where Lance’s higher reasoning just went too.
“...Okay, distracting your opponent into losing doesn’t count as winning,” Lance says. “I’m not putting that up on the tally board.”
Keith and Lance’s first time doesn’t go like either one of them planned. That’s definitely a good thing.

Summary
"It’s taken a lot of time, tears, and blood, but Princess Allura of the Altean Empire and the Paladins of Voltron are starting to be names that garner respect throughout the galaxy, as opposed to the old standard responses of fear, bitterness, aching messianic hope, and Lance’s personal favorite, where have you been all this time and what do you mean, you’re it, we thought you were coming to save us. You can’t eat respect, though, and you definitely can’t patch up your leaking HVAC pipes with it, so sooner or later, the Castle has to touch down to resupply and make repairs."
Things take a turn for the worse, and Lance confronts what it means to be a parent in wartime.

Summary
“You bought us gnomish drugs?” Astarion gasped.
It was all slotting together. The wretched truth. His poor, sweet, innocent husband was swindled by a gang of fraudulent artificers. Earnestly seeking something to ease his pain and walking away with an experimental tincture that was—
Suddenly, the strange cat video from earlier seemed much less like a silly internet distraction and much more like an omen. Or perhaps a premonition, lighting the shared future of Astarion and his husband as they hurtled forward together into the terrifying unknown.
Gale makes a miscalculation with his homemade edibles, Astarion experiences the wonders of THC for the first time, and federal tax dollars are wasted.

Summary
“I don’t really think there’s a true name for what I am,” Gale admits, looking sheepish, “But I have named it, myself. If that’s interesting to you.”
“Of course I’m interested, Gale, I’m here.” He’s asking.
“I… call it Portentus Castificare. An omen of punishment,” Gale says, eyes on his hands where they rest in his lap.
“Is it that bad?” Astarion cajoles, hoping to earn another smile somehow or other.
“It’s certainly… monstrous. And the hunger, when its yawning void opens within me, is… almost insatiable. And quite painful. This… this body, what you’ve come to recognize as me… it’s a facsimile of the man I was before, as best as I could recreate it. But I died that day, I think. It absorbed me just as I absorbed it,” Gale does smile, but it’s a sad one.

Summary
“He saw me, where Mystra didn’t.”
It’s late now. Astarion sits with Gale beneath the starless night and watches him polish his sword. A slip of the blade draws blood; unfazed, Gale brings his finger to his lips, and tastes it with naked rapture. In the waning moonlight, the rot is more obvious than ever before. It snakes past his waistband, branches over his throat.
Astarion hums softly. “Bhaal?”
A nod. “He saved me.” Gale shuts his eyes. “He talks to me. Listens to me, understands me, believes in me, rewards and respects and adores me.”
A pause. Overhead, the wind is silent.
“He loves me. And in turn, I grant him my devotion.”
In search of a cure for the tadpole in his head, Astarion encounters Bhaal's newest Chosen, and finds himself biting off far more than he can chew.

Summary
Like most of Gale’s problems since the Nautiloid, this whole mess is Tav’s fault. He doesn’t know exactly what Tav told Astarion when Gale was out of the room, but he trusts that they didn’t betray his confidence. Probably.
Whatever it is has made Astarion act even stranger than normal and it is threatening Gale’s very carefully curated compartmentalization of his feelings for the man.
