Summary
If Jihyo had Sana’s status, she’d work damn hard to keep it. She wouldn’t let it pull wool over her eyes. She can’t afford to lose, especially not now, especially not when Ferrari’s managed to put together a car that’s competitive enough to hold it’s own. Her new race engineer is competent enough. Their pit crew is quicker than they’ve ever been. Ferrari isn’t all bad – Sana is just one problem, one little thorn in her side.
They drive the same car. Clearly, someone on the team thought Jihyo could match Sana’s driving style. Even if Sana, in all her holy Tifosi benevolence, disagreed. Intense, that had been how Sana described Jihyo’s first test ride in the sim back in the Maranello factory. She’s too hungry for this. It’s not going to end well.
Jihyo signs a one year contract with Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One season after spending four years in a back-marker team. Her teammate is her former childhood idol, Minatozaki Sana. The chip in Jihyo's shoulder does not make this easy for anyone.

There’s a moment of silence. Then, a slow exhale. “We’ve compiled some, ah, data. The average subscriber mentions Momo-ssi in your Bubble at least three times more than any other member.”
Huh. Jihyo didn’t know that.

Who the girl is doesn’t matter, because Jihyo knows that no matter what, Sana will come back to her. She will come back to this bunk, below Jeongyeon, parallel to Mina, and ball her fists into Jihyo’s shirt and cry about a girl who didn’t get it. Not that any girl would, no, no girl understands besides for Jihyo.
One day, Jihyo thinks, she'll finally get it right.

“That is so stupid,” says Nayeon, smiling broadly. “what if I hit you with a car? What if I shot you?”
It’s disgusting how vulnerable Jihyo feels. She’s so tender hearted, as much as she hates Nayeon she just – she can’t. She can’t believe there’s a part of Nayeon that doesn’t care about her nearly as much as it obsesses over her. Jihyo fiddles with her wedding ring, looking up through her lashes. “You wouldn’t.” She whispers.
“I wouldn’t?” Nayeon tilts her head forward, voice low and mocking.
Meeting Nayeon hasn’t been a fall from grace so much as a headfirst dive.

“You came all this way for a favor?” Chaeyoung is even-toned, looking at Nayeon the same way she would’ve a year ago, or four or eight. Like everything is the same between them. “What is it?”
And because Nayeon is nothing if not straightforward, even more so now that her pride is good and gone, she gets to the point. “I need you to fuck me again. Like you did last month.”

Chaeyoung gulps, noting how she feels her throat bob against Nayeon’s hand, and also noting how the slight heat in her core has suddenly become a raging flame. Her breaths come uneven, her voice sounds strained. “Yeah?”
“Choking,” Nayeon confirms.
Chaeyoung tries to hum in agreement, pretty clear by the hand around my neck, but a strangled whine comes out instead. Fuck. Sharp eyes flash and the corner of Nayeon’s lips quirk up.*
Chaeyoung finds out she likes being choked.
