“Q,” he smiles, turning his head to see his lover kneeling beside his bed. The captain's uniform he so often wears has been replaced by the formal robes the Val’dana delegation wore for the negotiations. But rather than the blues and greens their people seem to favour, his are a deep purple, the insides shimmering with the suggestion that it holds the whole universe inside its folds.
Knowing Q, it actually might.
Despite the fatigue still pulling at his body, Jean-Luc gives Q a slow once over, not even trying to be subtle. Like this, he looks ethereal, god-like, and his thoughts drift to pushing open those robes and dropping to his knees to worship Q as he deserves.
“Another day, love,” Q grins, his eyes sparkling as he watches the scene Jean-Luc has conjured play out through their bond. “You’ve pushed yourself past the point of exhaustion with these deliberations, and now you deserve to relax.”
