William was about to finish cleaning up his work area when he felt the room grow chilly in a matter of seconds. He turns and looks behind him, spotting John from a far corner of the room. He nearly springs up to his feet in surprise but resisted against it, he had somewhat gotten used to the white-haired man appearing out of the blue.
“Jeezus, John! Would it kill you to knock on a door before coming in?”
“I'm already dead, William.”
“...You… You get the point.” He sighed.

John nearly smiles and asks slowly, “Why do you want me to come with you?”
Will struggles for an answer that is both truth and hidden truth. He couldn’t say, ‘I’ve been trying to ask you out for a year and I’m too much of a coward to do it head-on.’ Nor could he say, ‘I’m so desperate for you to like me that I’m willing to waive every principle I’ve built my life on.’
He licks his lips and settles on, “For both our sakes, it will be worth it.”
“I’m not in the habit of living with uncertainty, Will."
