Dazai looks nervous, and Chuuya can’t crack why. He definitely looks wrong, though, like he’s about to jump out of his skin.
Which does happen when something makes a particularly loud noise outside. Dazai’s head whips in that direction, his whole body tenses, and he clutches the plushie in his arms like letting it go would mean sudden death.
“You’re scared,” Chuuya realizes. “You’re scared of this, why didn’t you tell me?”
/or: dazai is scared of sleeping in the woods so chuuya cuddles him to sleep

Chuuya turns sharply, a hand almost twitching toward the edge of his coat, and that’s when he sees him.
Tall, lazy posture, an idiotic grin just barely restrained. A cup of coffee in one hand, the other casually shoved in his pocket. The sight alone is enough to send a wave of exasperation crashing over him.
“For fuck’s sake,” Chuuya mutters, the words escaping before he can stop them.
Across the room, Dazai’s grin grows wider. He lifts his coffee cup in a mock toast, and Chuuya knows, deep in his bones, that this day has officially gone to hell.
Dazai and Chuuya are soulmates. Unfortunately.

“Oh…” Dazai trailed off trying to recall what he even looked like. “My father picked him out for me.”
“Huh? So you weren’t even into him?”
“I’d only just met him. I wasn’t into anything. He's the same as everyone else my father picks.”
“And you never choose for yourself?”
“No, I’ve never been particularly interested in any of them.”
Chuuya shook her head disbelievingly and huffed. When she was amused, the left side of her mouth would twitch revealing a small dimple.
“What?” Dazai inquired.
“It’s just… If that’s the case are you sure you even like guys?”
Dazai’s mouth worked to form words from an idea her mind hadn’t yet grappled with.
