Author's note: This entire fic is based on the video “Cat's in the Cradle” by daasgrrl, which combines House (starring Hugh Laurie), Sherlock (starring Benedict Cumberbatch), and Fortysomething (starring Hugh Laurie and Benedict Cumberbatch). I took its central premise, used as much of the imagery and implied back story as I could fit in, and imagined what might happen next.

There was barely anyone left at the site of the commotion except for the man who had instigated the entire thing.
An old man, with white hair to match, in a long, dark trench coat. His glasses glinted in the light of the lampposts standing by the street. In front of him was.. well, it clearly used to be a tent, but it looked more like a very sad attempt at one now. The man was huffing, clearly having exerted himself more than usual, and his cane lay beside him, having been abandoned in favor of one of the previously mentioned lampposts.
He turned.
Billy recognized that face.

“The 5th, it’s the 5th, what’dya mean you didn’t remember?!” Barry yelled, helping Bruce kick the oncoming enemy aliens out of the planes cargo pit.
“What do you want from me, I thought it was next week!” Billy yelled back, having transformed back to his usual self in effort to fry the mother ships main frame. It had worked exceptionally well. His voice rose near the end of the sentence, his movements frantic as he sat in the passenger seat, trying to keep up with the buttons and levers Hal told him to push.
Hal, Bruce, Barry, and Billy are sent on a mission. Somehow, it ends with the kid piloting the whole thing.

Also take everything with a grain of salt and the understanding that I am autistic and my focus will jump around a bit. I have media literacy, don't take fics exploring topics as defense, romanticization, or condoning of those topics.I know that it says fake fan, but I'm really just rusty. I've been here for a while, I'm just a slow reader. I'm reading comics and watching shows at the same time so my information is in a blender. I also tend to read wikis front to back on characters I'm unfamiliar with, and I do try to use multiple sources to do my best to depict them. I will get better at this with time.
Anyway! Hi, the only reason this is on anon is because I wanted to. I have stuff in the works, but I'm a college student and a caretaker so things will go slow. I mostly write oneshots, but when I find the time, I do want to eventually write a multi-chapter story.

The kid was cute, absolutely. Freckles in their hundreds dotted his little face, ringing wide green eyes and chubby cheeks. The dead giveaway was the hair, the brightest orange he’d ever seen and fashioned into a godawful bowl cut.

John Constantine is following rumors of demon activity in Fawcett City. Billy Batson is trying desperately to stop his old enemy Blaze while unable to transform into Captain Marvel. Obviously, these goals collide.
The blond man standing across the magic circle from him yelped and leapt backwards as the Lightning struck, enveloping Billy’s body with light and warmth and the slightest sting of invigorating pain and—for just a second—the voice of Zeus.
It dissipated in an instant, and Billy stood there, still horribly human. It hurt more for having that second of divinity fill him again.
“Give me some bloody warning next time you do something like summon a lightning strike!” John yelled.
