Tommy stares down into the lava of the Nether with the bubbling magma lying underneath barely functioning bridges. He sniffs and wipes his face to stop himself from crying in front of Dream, he doesn’t want his only friend to see him being so pathetic.
“Come on Tommy, don’t kill yourself. We have so much to do back in Logstedshire.” Dream stands behind him holding his sword, Nightmare.
Tommy swallows and looks up at the green man. “Why shouldn’t I kill myself Dream? You’re gonna kill me eventually. Why not speed it up?”
A single empty laugh echoes in the empty realm, “Why would I kill you Tommy? You are my friend and I care about you.”
For a second Tommy is inclined to believe him but then shakes his head, remembering that Dream is why he can’t go home. “What would you do if I walked through that portal right now? Would you kill me then?”
“Why do you have so many questions Tommy, can’t you just be happy that I’m here for you?”
Tommy stands up and walks towards where Dream is standing. “Would you kill me?”
Dream sighs and puts a hand on Tommy’s shoulder. “Let’s go home Tommy.”
Tommy backs away from the admin, “This isn’t my home anymore Dream.” He turns and runs towards the portal.
Mere seconds before he can make it to the overworld a trident forces its way through his ribs, making him fall to the ground. He wheezes out a dry breath and tries to grab the trident in his chest “I knew you’d kill me Dream.”
