Kakegurui Bites

Summary:

Bite sized Kirsaya moments with sometimes vague overarching plot. Ranging from silly to sad to sweet to spicy.

Notes:

A/N: Just a collection of snippets that couldn't fit into a long fic. If you have a prompt send it! I might be able to work it into a snippet. No promises though as my schedules pretty booked right now.

Chapter 1: I'm Not Afraid of the Dark

Chapter Text

“That movie....was certainly something,” Kirari forced a chuckle as she discreetly pulled down the sleeve of her blue pjs to hide the goosebumps there. “I can see why it won an award for best horror of the year.”

“Y-yea,” Sayaka agreed as she flicked the TV off. They now sat in the silence of their house, ears highly trained for any sound, lamps off as they had kept them off to give a better horror experience.

“But I'm not scared,” Kirari insisted. “I'm a clan leader. A silly movie like this won't scare me in the least. I've dealt with worse things.”

“Me too. I have martial arts training. I can take on anyone; I'm not stupid like those people in the movies either. Who goes towards the noise?” Sayaka scoffed.

“Exactly. I won't even have trouble sleeping at night because I know monsters aren't real,” Kirari tacked on, before she slipped down lower under the covers of the bed they had watched the movie in. Sayaka did the same. The two facing each other, closing their eyes.

“Good night.”

“Good night,” Sayaka replied, forcing herself to keep her eyes closed.

Something creaked.

Both their eyes shot open.

“That was probably nothing,” Sayaka reported though she didn't sound certain.

“Yes, no need to worry. Wooden homes creak all the time,” Kirari said. “Don't be so jumpy.”

“I'm not being jumpy!” Sayaka hissed back as something creaked again, closer to the door.

“Don't tell me the movie actually scared you,” Kirari mocked.

“It didn't!” Sayaka said in a low tone, not wanting to be too loud. “A silly movie like that won't scare me!”

Suddenly, Sayaka froze. Kirari, whose back was turned from the doorway, frowned. Now what?

“Oh my god,” Sayaka whispered out in horror as she stared at something behind Kirari's shoulder. Hovering just over it, were two pairs of glowing eyes.

With a sense of impending terror creeping up her back, Kirari quickly turned around, breath catching in her throat. The two eyes stared back at her, unblinking, right by her pillow.

Kirari let out the biggest scream as she and Sayaka backed up on the bed, sliding right off and nearly tripping over the sheets as they ran out the apartment in their pjs. It wasn't until they were panting outside of it, in their front lawn, that Kirari realized something. “Wait, we have a pet cat.”

At this, Sayaka and her exchanged laughter of relief. “I can't believe that actually scared you,” Sayaka joked, wiping away a tear as she held a hand to her stomach.

“I can't believe that scared you!” Kirari laughed back.

A soft mrrow caught them by surprise and they looked down to see their black cat, with a dead mouse caught in between it's jaws. It looked up at them before dropping it at their feet. Instantly twin shivers ran down their spine as they turned back to their house.

Oh no.

So what was in their house?
