Chapter Text

Aizawa groaned and tapped his pen roughly against his desk. His students couldn't even understand the simple idea of writing an essay about heroines, and how were they supposed to become heroes. He mumbled some curse words in Japanese and held his face in his hands.

"Heyyy!! How's My Favvvvorite Listener!?" A familiar annoying voice called out.

Aizawa threw his head on his desk and growled lowly. I don't have time for his fanatics, he thought.

"Aw come on, we're in the staff room! Can't you chill for a moment Sho?" Yamada pleaded for his attention.

"As you can't see, I'm busy. I have to grade a bunch of idiots so I don't need another idiot around me." Aizawa snarled.

Hizashi started to pout and he crossed his arms like a demanding child.

"Fine. Be like that." He huffed.

"Well well, if it isn't Mr Grumpy Pants and Mr Pouty Face~" drawled Ms. Midnight.

Aizawa groaned louder and said angrily, "Go AWAY."

"Now don't be like that! You two are supposed to get along!!" She scolded them both and proceeded to hit them on the back of their heads firmly.

"OWwWwWw that hurt..." Yamada whined.

"Oh please, what is wrong with the both of you today?" Nemuri asked.

"Nothing is wrong, I'm busy and he is bothering me," Aizawa explained and jabbed a finger at the cockatoo man.

Nemuri walked over to Aizawa and look over his shoulder,

"Hey, Aizawa if grading essays is bothering you why don't you get Yamada to help? He is great with grammar and has tons of experience with Class 1A's essays." Midnight openly suggested.

Aizawa stared at the woman with the most surprised and disgusted face ever but, this didn't show exactly what he felt...
Why is my heart racing so fast? Is she trying to mess with me? Oh listen to yourself, I'm just his "Number 1 listener" to him anyways. Shota Aizawa, focus. Maybe I should let him help. I'm already way past understanding the essays anyway...It doesn't mean I care if he helps or not but... just this once he can help... Aizawa thought carefully. Then he scrunched up his nose and sighed.

"Fine." He heard Yamada yell with joy and almost somewhat grinned before turning back to his general displeased face "But only for today."

As Yamada sat right next to Aizawa and immediately grabbed up papers and started explaining everything loudly and pointing out all the mistakes and admiring some of the well written bits while, Aizawa just gazed into his green eyes that were greener than a jungle and had more life than one. Aizawa was the only person who ever noticed the dash of mascara that Mic uses and the small dimples in his cheeks that only show when he grins truly. Or that one strand of hair that is never up in his hair properly just tickling Hizashi's nose so he ends up scrunching his nose in a bothered motion. As Aizawa finished spacing out Yamada continued to babble on and Aizawa couldn't stop the small curved smile that he hide with his capture scarf. Though he hadn't noticed that Hizashi was gazing at him too. Yamada has paused and completely lost his train of thought he just gawked at the papers in his hands.

"Yama- Present Mic? Hello?" Aizawa asked in a confused manner.

Mic was staring because he noticed how he had casually let his hand fall on the ravenette's pale hand. He quickly pulled his hand away and grinned awkwardly before stumbling over his words, trying to remember what he was saying.

Why do you continue to fluster yourself?! It's just a HAND! Dammit, Yamada! Pull yourself together!  He wanted to throw himself off a cliff.

Meanwhile, Midnight giggled with the other staff as they watched the amusing sight of the two blind bats.

"Ooooh! How can they be so oblivious!" She whined.

" I don't know but, it's all very sweet and cute." All Might smiled softly.

Midnight suddenly stands up straight as a sly smile slithers across her face.

"I've got it! We've got to get them together!" The staff stared at her in bewilderment. "You know? Set them up!" She continues.

All Might whispers nervously, "I don't know Kayama-san maybe we should let them do their own thing..."

"No. Way. They'll never speak up because they think that the other doesn't love them back." She declares. "So! Are you with me?"

The rest of the staff looked around at one another and then finally back at Nemuri before nodding slowly in agreement. She clasped her hands together and beamed at them.

"Good, because my plan needs a lot more people..."

Later that day, Nemuri confronted Class 1-A while they were having lunch.

"Hello sweethearts~" She flashed a smile.

"Oh! Uh- What are you doing here Midnight Sensei!" Izuku asks with his high-pitched voice and wide eyes that seem to dart away every couple of seconds almost as if he is nervous around Nemuri.

As they all should...Be nervous around me. Kayama smirks to herself.

"Heh... Dear Izuku, could you gather your class members for me. I.. have an announcement to make." Midnight replied slyly.

"Ah! Of course Sensei!" He shot up from his seat and quickly bowed before running around and gathering all of his buzzing friends. Even the angry blonde boy, Bakugou. As they stood in front of Midnight she took a breath in. She was slightly unsure about this, she didn't want to mess up because it could cost her two of the people closest to her. She inhaled deeply and began explaining,

"So, I have a plan... sort of... to get your teachers together." Midnight starts before being interrupted by a ton of questions from the excited children. Quickly she shuts them up by saying, "RIGHT! Quiet down please and I'll explain."

" I and most of the U.A staff believe that Eraserhead and Present Mic have feelings for one another but, they're too scared to confess." She states.

All of class 1-A gasps and start whispering conspiracy theories and gossiping.

"Now, before you start going and telling everyone about this, I need you guys to help me get them together." Midnight says as she looks around the room.

Class 1-A all cheer their replies and grin widely at their teacher. Midnight smirks and gets ready to explain her plan when someone else walks in.

"So you think your plan of locking the two in a room will work?" The lavender haired baggy eyes boy asks.

Everyone stares quietly in shock and surprise Nemuri the most unlikely person to be lost for words is gawking at the outburst. That is until Midnight finds her voice, "Yes, Hitoshi, I do think it will."

"Well you're wrong." comes the quick reply.

"Then how should I do it?" She asks daringly.

"Well... you need to trick them into it..." Shinsou continues, "And I know exactly how." He grinned evilly.

The next morning Aizawa was just curling up in his sleeping bag with a cup of coffee when 3 of his students walked in 30 minutes early. Aizawa was surprised since these students were far behind in class and were the most unlikely to come to school early. They would normally show up 10 minutes late.

"Ohayo Kaminari, Ashido, and Kirishima." He said as he sat up pulling off the sleeping bag.

"Ohayo Gozaimasu sensei!" they chirped a little too happily.

"Alright. What do you want?" He commented suspiciously.

Kaminari or Denki, a boy with electrifying yellow hair and bright eyes which makes him look like he's high on drugs eveb though he isn't, smiles nervously

"We... Well you see, we were wondering if maybe you could spare some time and help us catch up with the class?" Denki mumbled softly.

Aizawa snorted slightly, "Isn't that what Yaoyorozu is for?"

They look at each other worried slightly before turning back grinning sloppily.

"Well sensei, You see... Yaomomo is very busy this weekend soOoOo~ you're the only person better than Yaomomo." The pink-haired alien the girl said with tons of hand actions.

Aizawa groaned and rolled his eyes before standing up and towering over the trembling children.

"Fine, but where should do you plan to have this, "Study session"?" He said in a bored tone as he gestured to his sarcasm.

"Well, we were thinking of Geronimo's Specialty Restaurant! I think it's manly!" Kirishima beams and clasps his fists together.

"Isn't that a bit eccentric? A fancy restaurant?" Aizawa raises an eyebrow at them.

"Oh- Oh! Well- Um.. how about Rockets Milkshake bar?" Denki splutters too quickly. This is proceeded with him yelping after the red spiky-haired kid jabs him with a rock-hard elbow.

Aizawa shrugged in acceptance,  "That's fine. Now sit down, class will be starting soon."

The three walk to their seats squabbling and whispering and scolding one another, Aizawa could tell something was up but he didn't know exactly what.

Meanwhile, Hizashi Yamada was stretched out across a lounge chair in the staff room, thinking aggressively whilst typing up an email to one of Class 1B's parents as they wouldn't stop interrupting class. They had even spat gum into Yamada's hair when he asked them to get rid of it.

"How you are flexible enough to sit in that position comfortably... I will never know.." Midnight says as she sits formally opposite the frowning blonde.

Hizashi grunts before continuing to dagger his computer keys anoyyed.

"Excuse Me? Is Present Mic dead? Who are you?" She joked

Hizashi's neon green eyes turned into small slits and he sat up properly. He almost scowled but immediately his face brightened and he grinned and laughed.

"No, No! Of course, I'm here. Just stuck in a train of thought... heh.." His smile was sloppy and different as if he wasn't focusing. His eyes were darting back and forth.

"Uh- Well..." Nemuri starts a bit surprised at her friend's regain in posture. Or that he seemed distracted. "I was thinking maybe me and the rest of the staff, except Aizawa since he already said no, could go out to Rockets Milkshake bar? For a lunch thing? for Fun?" She beamed.

"Uh... Sure why not! I've nothing to do this weekend!" Yamada pulled up two-finger guns.

"Wonderful!" Midnight smirked and jolted up, practically skipping away to talk about her success. She had got Yamada to fall for her trap and thankfully Aizawa too. Though the plan still had to go on carefully...

{Time Skip Towards Aizawa driving to Rockets Milkshake Bar}

Aizawa tapped the steering wheel impatiently as he stared at the red light in front of him. He was tired and in a terrible mood after waking up in the night 3 times before he decided to give up on sleeping and do something else, after all, he was an insomniac with PTSD from past incidents he preferred to keep to himself.

Finally. Took the damn light long enough. He muttered to himself before he stepped on the accelerator. As Aizawa finally pulled up to the popular milkshake bar he grumbled and reached for his phone. He tapped the screen multiple times and then shut it. He walked through the parking lot and reached the door before touching hands with someone.

"Oh- pardon. after you...." Aizawa said lowly. He waved his hand slightly to gesture that the person could go first. Except... It wasn't any person.

"Wait... 'Zash- Yamada?" Aizawa said in a confused manner as he stared at his colleague.

"OH! Hey Aizawa! I didn't expect to see you here! I thought you said you weren't coming?" The blonde turned to him.

"I didn't say shit. And when were you invited by Kaminari?" Aizawa replied.

"What... Kaminari? How has this got to do with him?" Yamada responded as he and Aizawa walked into the restaurant.

"You mean?..." Aizawa paused as the realization grew, "They set me up." Aizawa growled as a shadow passed over his face.

"Woah there! Let's not kill anyone today!" Yamada responds sheepishly as he looks awkwardly at Aizawa's terrifying face.

"H.. how about we just have a milkshake together to figure this out?" Yamada proposes.

Aizawa grunted as they sat down in a booth way in the corner of the diner.

"What are you getting then?" Aizawa says lowly as he peers over from the menu at the confused blonde.

"Uh- Well there are two amazing choices and I can only pick one so I'm... I'm struggling..." He responds.

"Let me see your options I'll pick for you," Aizawa says generously.

"Oh! Well then-" All of a sudden Aizawa was sitting next to Yamada and looking down at his menu. "Wha-?" Mic said surprised as he felt his face heating up.

"What. I can't sit next to you?" Mic shook his head quickly. "Well, go on? What are the choices?" Aizawa continued.

"R-Right, I was thinking uh... You 'know maybe I'll just go for a chocolate sprinkle milkshake!"

"So you asked me to sit here for nothing?" Aizawa grumbled.

"No- I-" The blonde man sighed then said, "sorry.."

Aizawa turned his head, "Why apologize? You never apologize, you know I never mean it."

"Right, sorry- I mean! SORRY!" Yamada stumbled over his words.

"Are you okay?" Aizawa said as he sat back opposite his dear friend. Yamada didn't respond when he opened his mouth to speak. "You seem on edge...strange" Aizawa pondered.

"Well, well what on this planet could have rifled the one and the only Hizashi Yamada?" Aizawa smirked his strange, mocking, smirk.

"I don't know what you're talking about Aizawa." Yamada huffed as he let his yellow hair fall over his face to hide his flusteredness.

"Right, sure. Anyways, the milkshakes are here." As Aizawa's dark eyes turned to his milkshake Yamada paused him before he could drink it.

"Ai- Shota, I... I wanted to" Aizawa shifted and leaned over the table keeping his gaze on the neon piercing eyes. He raised an eyebrow as his closest and dearest friend shuddered and took a deep breath.

"Can I kiss you?" Yamada blurted out

"Wh- What?!" Aizawa started to lean back in surprise. he quickly realize how that might have given the wrong idea so he continued,

"I mean...sure..." he justified as he watched, no, cherished the moment but Hizashi was hesitant.

"Hizashi?-" As Aizawa was trying to figure out if something was wrong he was interrupted by the sensation of bliss as his lips were pressed against Hizashi's. Once he finally pulled himself away he smiled.

"I'm- sorry if you didn't-" Mic felt bad that he may have made the wrong choice but when he looked up and saw Aizawa's smile. He felt all the worries disappear.

"You smiling is a whole thing that I'm never going to get used to.." He said dreamily.

"Well, you better start trying." Aizawa flashed another smile as he stirred his milkshake as it had already melted. The two then sat in silence just gazing at one another for a while until Aizawa broke the silence when he noticed a familiar face at the window.

"Oh my god. DAMMIT, I KNEW IT!" Aizawa stood up and banged his fist against the table. Yamada watched in slight shock.

"Knew what exactly?" Yamada asked

"It was a set-up. Nemuri and Kaminari did this on purpose." Aizawa growled.

"Oh... That makes a lot of sense now..."

"Its nice and all that you love me but now I know this was a set-up I'll send them all to hell." Aizawa scowled as a shadow passed over his face.

"I don't know whether that was supposed to be sweet or murderous," Yamada commented and they both flopped back in their seats laughing.

Yamada leaned over and tucked a strand of hair behind Aizawa's ear. "Leave the murder for later... For now, it's just me, and you." He whispered the last part but, Aizawa managed to ruin it.

"And a public diner," Aizawa added.

"Right. Uh-" Mic stopped, he noticed almost all of the students Aizawa normally taught trying to hide along with half the staff. They were pretending to be normal civilians but, none of them could hide that well.

"Ai... Aizawa. I give you full permission to go outside and yell at your students and whichever staff members have been watching."

"They. WHAT." Aizawa stood up and immediately marched out into the plaza and started finally take control of his stupid students and fellow annoying colleagues.

Yamada could only laugh as he watched Aizawa manage not to make a scene while scolding everyone. It was a terrible idea that they had but... it worked. Hizashi giggled slightly and smiled dreamily, Finally, all I needed was him and now... I have him, the love of my life.

Mic waved Aizawa to come back inside as the two enjoyed the little date they both knew it was the start of a better age for them, love now filled the emptiness in their worlds while the rest of class 1-A and the staff cheered and yelled with joy. they were ecstatic that the plan worked but slightly scared of the punishments to come...
