Chapter Text
Yamada grinned as he read the email on the bright screen in front of him. He almost couldn't believe the message principal Nezu had written. Nezu had decided to make an event on Pride Day to honour the month of June and to cheer the children up after a terrorist attack ruined their summer the year before. Immediately Hizashi pulled up his best of friends, Aizawa, contact and sent a bunch of messages due to excitement. He didn't realize that it was 3:00 in the morning so when he received the reply he laughed sheepishly.
Within a minute Aizawa was grumbling and coddling his cat whilst holding his phone. What on earth could this idiot want at this time? He blinked and read the bunches of text. His eyes widened and he groaned. Quickly he typed a response and covered his face. He hated the idea of having to show he was gay. It always sparked red sirens in him and those around him. When he was younger and finally told his mother, after developing unusual feelings for his blonde loud friend, his mother didn't accept it and said it was wrong. From then on he swore to never tell anyone since he never wanted to feel that shame ever again. He slowly opened his eyes and stared at the glowing phone.
The Conversation Between Aizawa and Mic:
Hizashi: Heyyyy! Did you hear about the Pride Day event that Nezu has started?!
Hizashi: The teachers are role models so they should show their colours to support the students!!
Hizashi: So, Nemuri's Bisexual she'd have to wear something with the colours representing the flag to match the kids who'll be doing similar things.
Aizawa: I know what pride day is.
Hizashi: Its sounds amazing!! I can't wait!!! Wbu?
Aizawa: Hizashi. It's 3 in the morning...?
Aizawa: ...Do we have to represent ourselves?
Aizawa: I hate. Pride Day.
Hizashi Looked confused at the glaring screen and responded with, "What are you a homophobe?" He then smiled as he was reassured with, "No, No... It's just going to be so loud and bothersome..." The blonde texted some happy emojis and said goodnight, falling back on his bed. He fell asleep peacefully and with a warm feeling.
Meanwhile, Aizawa groaned and shifted a lot before shutting the phone and laying down. He couldn't sleep, he never can if he's been woken up. Hizashi didn't know that since Aizawa knows he loves to talk late at night or super early in the morning. He didn't want to ruin that for his friend so he said nothing and lived with insomnia and continued to stay sleep deprived.
The Next Morning...
Yamada jumped up when his alarm went off and ran straight to the shower, as he dried his hair he pulled out a rainbow shirt and some purple, blue and pink-themed accessories. It was perfect! He represented himself! As he walked out of his dorm room excited for the day, someone else was having trouble waking up.
Aizawa mumbled something under his breath as he smacked his phone that was going berserk. He sat up yawning and then stretched the muscles in his arms. He sat still for 2 or 3 minutes. He didn't want to leave the comfort of his bed. Finally, he forced himself to wake up properly. Gently he stood up and slowly dragged his feet to the bathroom. He quickly showered and as he grabbed the hero suit he hesitated. Then quickly pulled it on. As he gently shaved his growing beard he felt a buzz in his pocket. He pulled out his phone not focused on the razor in his hand. He almost dropped his phone as he saw a message from Hizashi. Instead, he dropped the razor and put his hand to his face dabbing at the cut he created.
Idiot. How'd you manage that... He thought as he walked into the common rooms where some students jumped around and whispered excitedly. Swiftly he passed them without being noticed. He picked a mug out and made some quick coffee as that was his only way of surviving the days. He strolled out of the dorms and headed to U.A.
Aizawa was greeted in the staff lounge by all the staff in bright colours or more saturated tones of the bright colours. He winced, he was the only one not wearing a colour of some sort.
"Oh! Aizawa Hey!" Nemuri said loudly enough that all the staff turned and stopped chattering to say hello. Aizawa groaned and felt like passing out. He quickly stumbled to a chair and sat down. All Might just has to be sitting next to him.
"Something wrong, Aizawa-Kun?" Toshinori asked softly.
"no, no, No. It's fine." Aizawa stood up quickly, he didn't want to be interrogated by his colleagues so he left the staff lounge. He headed for 1-A, and as he sat at his desk he felt like he did something wrong. Sure he hated telling others how he was different since most people didn't expect it but.. maybe... And with that, he pulls open a drawer in his desk and pulls out a small bracelet band, thing. He smiled at the memories of the bracelet. He slipped it on his wrist and traced the colour blocks over with his finger. The green and blue shade made him feel slightly relieved because they represented a part of him. He pulled down his sleeve as soon as he heard the loud chatter of his class.
"Ohayo Gozaimasu Sensei!" They said together as they filed in.
"Ohayo class..." He mumbled whilst stretching. He was about to start teaching class when he looked back to see Mina Ashido practically jumped out her seat with her hand waving around.
"Yes, Ashido?"
"Sir! Why aren't you representing yourself?!" She almost yelled it.
Aizawa paused, "Because-" He barely managed a word before Midoriya butted in.
"Sir, it's okay... you know if you don't feel like being proud of it. I understand that." Izuku said
"But... We wouldn't make fun of you. No one would. That's the reason this day exists!" Izuku continued trying to ease Aizawa.
Slightly agitated, Aizawa lied quickly, "I'm not a part of the lgbtq okay." He didn't like being the center of attention.
That quickly shut his class up. Aizawa just turned back to the board. He hesitated again and then sighed.
"You children will be the death of me..." He cursed under his breath.
As class went on the class got roudier, they kept muttering and whispering. It was really getting to Aizawa. At one point the class was so loud the chalk he was using, snapped under the pressure of his hand. Finally the bell rang and Aizawa thought the torture was over. He slipped into his sleeping bag peacefully, trying to get some rest. After 10 or so minutes of flickering in and out of sleep, almost all of class 1A wandered into his classroom. Deku quietly tiptoed towards the sleeping man and gently tried lifted up his sleeve, only to reveal the small rubber bracelet their teacher had on. Aizawa sat up instantly, he had grabbed Dekus arm and twisted it in defense. Deku squeaked and immediately pulled back.
"MR. AIZAWA!" Deku yelled, Uraraka pulled Deku away from Aizawa quickly, all of class 1A frightened.
Aizawa grunted angrily and stood up.
"Problem child what on earth are you doing here?! You could've broken your arm attempting that." Aizawa massaged his scalp, these children were absolutely awful sometimes.
"B-broken...?" Midoriya whispered.
"Nevermind that, what do you want?" Aizawa asked.
" Well... we saw in class that... you were wearing a bracelet, I was going to check if it was true, it was a terrible idea... I apolgize sincerely, we all do!!" All of class 1A bowed at this comment, except Bakugou.
"What bracelet-" Aizawa paused, he stiffened up and sneaked a glance to his wrist and then stuffed his hand into his pocket.
"We're sorry... I- I didn't-"
"No. No. I understand, you're just curious." Aizawa continued, "Now you know please do not speak of this, your grades and lives in this school hang on your ability to not speak."
The class nodded quickly.
"Sir... you do know we don't find it bad... that your gay..." Todoroki said, the class murmured in agreement.
Aizawa felt slightly better and less embarrassed but he didn't show it. He seemed to relax a bit, his grouchy bad posture came back to him. The class stood there not knowing what to say.
"Aizawa?" A familiar voice said
Aizawa stiffened like a post. His face was now buried in his capture scarf.
Class 1A buzzed, they turned to the voice hero, Present Mic.
"Your... gay...?" Yamada half whispered.
Aizawa felt like punching a wall but instead his gripped his arm till he couldn't feel it. He said nothing for 5 minutes before Yamada started to act. Yamada flung his hands around and began shooing Class 1A out they all shuffled out of the classroom quickly and in a huff. They didn't want to miss this but they guessed Aizawa wouldn't be one to say anything around them. Once they left Yamada slowly stepped towards Aizawa, who didn't look like he was even breathing anymore.
"Shota...I didn't mean to jump on you like that." Yamada tried placing a hand on Aizawa's shoulder which got a sharp jolt out of him. Yamada quickly moved back.
"Well go on." Aizawa hissed with his back to the suprised blonde man. "Laugh. Call me names." He continued in a more upset tone.
"Sh-Sho? Why would you think I'd do that?" Yamada almost whimpered.
Aizawa shrugged himself from Yamadas grip and spun around.
"Because that's all people did." Aizawa was shaking slightly. "When one person found out. The rumours spread. And when I finally managed to seal them away and call it a bluff. I never spoke of it again."
"I- I don't remember that Sho? When did this happen?" Yamada murmured worriedly.
"After U.A but that doesn't matter though as I'm just trying to make a point that is why no one knows because I wasn't accepted by anyone. So I made sure no one would ever find out again. " Aizawa said gruffly.
"Sho...." Yamada felt a lump form in his throat.
"Then Nezu just had to bring up the subject with this stupid celebratory day! And what was I supposed to do? I tried to hide it but I couldn't resist wearing this stupid bracelet because I thought no one would find out." Aizawa jabbed Yamada's chest aggressively. "Now look at me." Aizawa snarled.
Before Aizawa managed to sat something else he was muffled by a suprise hug. Hizashis arms were tightly gripping Aizawa. It was like if Yamada were to let go something bad would happen. Aizawa squirmed uncomfortably pressing against Yamada, his ribcage was squashed by the directional speaker Yamada always wore.
"Yama... Stop...Hurting... my... chest..." Aizawas voice was clearly agitated and in pain as Yamada was holding Aizawas black hair covered head down on Yamadas shoulder so Aizawa couldn't speak without gasping for air.
"I dont think your a freak." Yamada squeezed Aizawa tighter. But Aizawa didn't respond. He had zoned out after Yamadas words.
Suddenly Aizawa pulled himself out of Yamadas fierce grip. His hands on Yamadas shoulder
"You? Don't?" Aizawa spluttered slightly, unable to hide his suprise.
Yamada snickered at Aizawa's face.
"Of course not." Yamada smiled.
Aizaqa regained his posture, his ears burned from the slight embarrassment he felt.
"How come?" He mumbled still unable to hide his flusteredness from his friends comment that made him sound so caring.
Yamada bit his lip slightly. Then leaned closer to Aizawa.
"It's a very important secret to me." Yamada teased, "Can you keep secrets?"
Aizawa curled his hands into fists, this was getting irritating.
"Yes. Of course I can Yamada." He answered.
Yamada leaned so close to Aizawa his nose was almost touching his face.
"I love you, idiot." He grinned stupidly.
Aizawas eyes widened. Then he buried his face into his scarf.
"I love you too... idiot..." Aizawa said in a muffled voice. He managed some eye contact with Hizashi before Yamada tilted Aizawas face up and away from the capture scarf. Then he quickly pecked Aizawa on the lips. Aizawa was fuming. His ears and cheeks were a bright red and since his skin was naturally pale the sudden blotches of colour stood out further. Yamada barely managed to hold in his laughter until Aizawa suprised him by kissing him deeply. Yamada started to blush himself, before he wrapped his hands around Aizawas waist while Aizawa cupped Mic's face in his hands. Aizawa felt his back pressed up against his desk and then finally pulled himself away from Hizashi's mouth.
"I know..." Hizashi grinned, he was beaming from ear to ear.
This was definitely the best day of his life.
