Chapter Text
"Hey Freddy?"
"Yes , Gregory?", Freddy looked down at the boy , curious of what he has to say.
The child at the moment was looking at the poster on the wall, a confused expression formed on his face," Who's that?" He asked, pointing at the poster.
Freddy took a glance, only to be saddened at the sight,".. That.. Was an old friend. His name was Foxy. "
Gregory blinked, tilting his head," Foxy? Sounds like Roxy."
Freddy chuckled softly," Yes, it does.. Roxy and him were close. Almost like siblings. It's one of the reasons she tends to go by Roxy actually, so they could feel like twins…"
"What happened to him?", Gregory looked back at the poster, a frown on his face.
Freddy's ears drooped, and if his shoulders could they would be slumping,"... No one knows. He just.. Vanished one day after Bonnie was decommissioned. No one could find him… I miss him. He was nice when he wasn't grumpy. "
"Do.. You think we could find him?", Gregory looked up at the other, his eyes shining as a plan starting form in his young mind.
Freddy sadly shook his head," I don't believe we can. No one has found him in years… I highly doubt that's going to change. I'm sorry , Gregory…."
He hated seeing Gregory's hope to find the other fade.. But he couldn't let himself hope either. After all, Foxy had been gone for years, him most likely rusting from years of not getting maintenance. He wouldn't be able to handle the pain of finding his friend without the spark of life he had..
He didn't want to have to see another friend's broken body, unable for it to be repaired…
He knocked on the ship's door to the cabin, fidgeting where he stood. He couldn't help the nervousness bubbling up in him..
Foxy growled from inside the cabin, his voice snapping at the animatronics bear," leave me alone, ye scallywag. I don' want ta be bothered…"
Freddy held back the small sigh that wanted to leave him, the singer having been used to Foxy's way of words for a few days now. He instead smiled (or at least did a variation of one anyways), A soft hum leaving him," I'm sorry to disturb you, Foxy. But I brought you some food.. You haven't been out of your cabin for a few days now and.. Well, we're worried about you. We just want to make sure you're ok."
There were a few moments of silence, and soon Freddy was worried he'd made a mistake in his words.
But just as he was about to leave the food near the door and walk away, the pirate opened the door just a crack to glare at the bear. Said pirate's gaze moved to the food next, his visible violet eye seemingly glowing brighter at the sight.
Freddy held the plate out for the smaller animatronic to take, his ears wiggling happily. This was progress… For the animatronic bear at least. Bonnie had already made progress with Foxy the day before, managing to get him to eat after he hadn't in days.
From what Bonnie said, it appeared as if Foxy hadn't known that they were designed with the ability to eat food to help with energy conservation.
You see, from what the singer could tell, the company wanted a back up way to keep them charged if their charging stations were compromised. It was efficient…
Even though that was only a back up way, the animatronics all ended up wanting to see what it would be like to eat something. And so they just.. Kept trying foods and proceeded to make a dinner schedule of sorts. It made them feel.. Human in a way.
That was besides the point though. He had to wonder why Foxy seemed to have not known that fact about them, seeing as they were all programmed with that knowledge before they were powered on. But for now, he will keep trying to help the fox adjust.
Foxy's eye narrowed at the bear for a moment before he begrudgingly took the plate from the singer, him immediately closing the door afterwards. Well.. That was still progress. He may not have held conversation with the fox, but that was alright. He was a patient bear, and so he will stay patient for as long as the fox needed.
After all, that is what friends are for… Even if the fox didn't realize it yet.
