Obi-Wan stepped on the plane to Bandomeer, his heart shattered and the weight of failure heavy on his small shoulders, only to look up and see a man clad in black single handedly fight off pirates. When the man finishes the fight by brutally snapping the captains’ neck, Obi-Wan realizes in a very quiet and creeping hysteria, that oh, it’s a Sith.
In which a Forty-Five-year-old Vader and an eleven-year-old Obi-Wan are thrown into the first months of the Clone Wars.

The beautiful soul that should have been there was now gone, reunited prematurely with the Force.
And all because Qui-Gon failed him.
He should have protected his padawan, but instead he fed him to the dragon.
Did it even matter if it was intentional or not?
The result was still the same, still the loss of such a brilliant Knight and person.
OR
Qui-Gon was positive Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One, so much so that he was blind to the boy's flaws and eyes void of a soul. Too bad it's not him who will pay the price.

Summary
In inspiration of Chancecraz's marvelous 'Of Queens, Knights, and Pawns,' here's my own fic about it. A sort-of version of Sparklight's 'In Which Our Intrepid Little Hero Doesn't Get Away,' these are moments in the Queens fics where Vader could have captured his wayward daughter - and now succeeds.
Each chapter stand alone, be aware for spoilers for Queens.
