Summary:

"That is a beautiful man," Hyunjin murmurs.

The strangeness of the comment coming from his mouth, when Hyunjin is easily the most gorgeous man Changbin has ever seen, makes him turn around to see how breathtaking this guy must be. He is about average height and slim, wearing a skintight black top accented with lace and dark skinny jeans that hug his shapely legs. His soft golden hair is cut into a stylish mullet, and when the man turns to close the door, Changbin notices his cheeks and nose are dusted with freckles, which he then sees sparkle in the light. He also has piercings in his ears and his nose, and his large doe eyes seem to be scanning the people closest to the door, looking for anyone he knows.

Changbin's eyes grow wide at the sight, and he turns back to Hyunjin. "DIBS!" he yells, just as the current song ends. His cry echoes in the room above the low hum of the party guests' chatter, and everyone turns to look around to see who said it.

Notes:

Hiii, so I'm finally posting chapter 1 of this to force my hand in finishing this fic. Don't worry, I have the first 5 chapters finished and most of the rest of it done as well, so my uploading should be relatively frequent and consistent! This is my first ship fic and also by far the longest one I've done, so I'm just fussing over it more than I need to, and I feel like if I don't start posting it, I'll keep finding reasons to postpone. Kudos and comments to encourage me are greatly appreciated!

This fic will have a bunch of tags added as chapters get uploaded. There will be some sensitive topics introduced, but they will be well-tagged and potential triggers will be noted at the start of the chapter they're in.

Also important to note: this takes place in the US, where the drinking age is 21. I don't explicitly state the ages of the characters, but most college-aged students in the US are not of drinking age, hence the "implied/referenced underage drinking" tag. Rest assured though, they are over 18.

Chapter Text

Felix: *texting Chan* Hey, I just walked into this party and someone yelled dibs, lol *meanwhile* Changbin: *texting Chan* CHAN HELPED I FUCKED UP. SOME HOT GUY WALKED INTO THE PARTY AND I YELLED DIBS

Heavy bass thumps in Changbin's broad chest as he bobs to the music at the first party of the semester, taking another swig of tequila from his flask as he tries to ignore his friends' pestering.

"I'm just saying Bin, you really should try to move on. It's been months. Have you even gotten laid since Wooyoung?" Hyunjin asks, flipping his head to the side in an attempt to move his long blond bangs out of his eye.

"Yeah, you need to get back out there!" Jisung chimes in, snuggling into his boyfriend Minho's side.

Changbin rolls his eyes. "How about you both shut up and mind your own business?" He puts his flask into his pocket and picks up his solo cup of mysterious jungle juice, taking a large swig before continuing. "And yes, I have gotten laid, thank you very much."

"By who? You didn't tell us!" Jisung shoots back.

"And why would I tell you? You guys are so damn annoying, it's a wonder I tell you anything at all," Changbin grumbles.

Minho pipes in, "We can tell you haven't gotten laid because you've been in a shitty mood since my Halloween party."

Jisung hyena-laughs as he stumbles into Minho's neck, clearly having drunk a bit too much.

Minho supports his body with a grimace, ensuring he's going to stay upright before continuing. "Come on, new semester, new Binnie. Why don't you go find someone to fuck right now?"

Changbin glowers at Minho before shrugging. "Don't feel like it. Much more interested in getting shitfaced."

He drains his cup and goes to refill it while Minho and Hyunjin exchange a look. Changbin and Jisung have had about the same amount to drink, and while Changbin's tolerance is higher, he's still getting close to that level of no return.

To prove their suspicions, he bashes his shin into the coffee table on the way back, cursing and hopping on one foot. He crashes into a stranger, who thankfully is sober enough and kind enough to hold him upright until he finds his footing.

"Thanks dude," Changbin says as he claps the man on the back before making his way back to the group.

"You good, man?" Hyunjin asks in an amused tone.

"I'm fine, fuck off," Changbin mutters as he takes a swig of his new drink.

Before the conversation resumes, Minho disentangles Jisung from himself and pushes him to lean on Hyunjin instead. "I should go get this one some water," he explains before walking away.

Suddenly, the air pressure in the room changes as the front door opens, letting in the cold winter air. Changbin barely notices, focusing on his drink until he hears Hyunjin let out a low whistle. "That is a beautiful man," he murmurs.

He faces Hyunjin like a deer in headlights, looking to him for help. Hyunjin just smirks, clearly amused by his predicament. Changbin ducks in an attempt to hide behind the other partiers and looks to the side, seeing that the previously occupied couch is now vacant. He continues to crouch, stepping to it and flopping down, burying his head in his hands.

Minho returns to the group and hands Jisung his water, who takes it gratefully and guzzles as Minho asks, "What happened?"

Hyunjin quickly tells him, and they both laugh at Changbin's expense. "See? You should go find someone to fuck, like him!" Minho says.

"Shut UPPP," Changbin groans into his hands.

"Ooooh, he's coming over here," Hyunjin observes, an evil grin spreading on his face.

Minho looks around, picking out the man as he slides through the crowd towards him. "Oh I know him from Modern Dance, that's Felix. He just transferred here." Minho returns Hyunjin's smirk, and Changbin looks up at Jisung, full of dread.

"Sungie, please help. Don't let them rat me out," Changbin begs.

Jisung's eyes seem to clear from the drunken haze and soften looking at his best friend's panicked face. He nods once, then whispers into Minho's ear.

Whatever he told him seems to work, as Minho's face lights up before he looks at Hyunjin and says, "Let's not tell him. Felix is new and doesn't know anyone. We don't want to scare him off immediately."

Hyunjin glares at Jisung, who innocently smiles back before returning to his water. "Fine."

Desperate to disappear, Changbin pulls out his phone to distract himself. He does not trust himself to keep his cool next to this gorgeous man, especially when he's drunk. As he selects his text messaging app, he hears, "Hey Felix!"

"Minho, right? Man, am I glad to see you. I don't know anyone here."

Changbin almost drops his phone upon hearing Felix's voice. Not only is it way deeper than he expected, but he also has a thick Australian accent, much like his other best friend Chan. I should text Chan.  He'll know what to do, Changbin thinks, trying very hard to distract himself from listening to Felix's voice any further.

Changbin [11:57pm]
CHAN HELP I DUCKED UP. SOME HOT GUY WALKED ONTO THE PARTY N I YELLED DIBS

He hits send, staring at the phone waiting impatiently for a response.

"...and that's Changbin," Minho says.

Changbin navigates to another app, merely offering a grunt in reply.

"He's had a bit too much to drink so he's kind of out of it," Minho offers to Felix as an excuse, and Changbin swears he feels those big brown eyes on him for way longer than was necessary.

Thankfully, Minho suggests that he walk Felix to the kitchen for a drink. As soon as they're gone, Changbin jumps off the couch. "Okay Sungie, let's get you home."

Jisung whines and downs the rest of his water. "I don't want to leave! I'm drinking water, I'm being good, see!"

"Jisung, I know you, and in about half an hour you're going to be doubled over the toilet. I booked us an Uber." Changbin looks to Hyunjin for reinforcement, bracing himself for pushback.

Thankfully, Hyunjin agrees. "Yeah Sungie, you should go home with Bin. I'll stay here and make sure Minho doesn't eat the new kid alive."

Jisung laughs with a hiccup. "Yeah, because you'll do it first!"

Hyunjin moves to shove Jisung, who was still propped against him, but Changbin intercepts and pulls Jisung into his arms away from Hyunjin's attack. "I got him, we're leaving. Hyunjin, don't you dare breathe a word to Felix about me."

Hyunjin sighs in his usual detached way. "As if I'd talk about you with him. You might've called 'dibs,' but I'm still going to shoot my shot."

"What the fuck Hyunjin?" Changbin steps forward and puffs out his chest, causing Hyunjin to snicker at the display.

"What are you gonna do, hit me?" Hyunjin challenges with a smirk on his face, taking another step closer. They both know that it won't come to that, but Hyunjin still enjoys winding Changbin up for his own amusement.

Changbin's phone buzzes, alerting him that the Uber has arrived. "Saved by the buzz," Hyunjin quips with a quick raise of his eyebrows. "Enjoy your night, boys!"

Changbin flips him off before pulling Jisung after him towards the door. Once inside the Uber, Changbin presses his forehead to the cold window, suddenly feeling a headache coming on.

"You okay Binnie?" Jisung asks, slumped against the other door. He reaches out to rub Changbin's arm, but Changbin pulls away with a huff.

"I'm fine. Just wanna go to bed." Changbin immediately feels bad for rebuking his friend's affection, but he's too annoyed to do anything about it.

The rest of the short ride is spent in silence, and soon they're stumbling into their shared apartment. Changbin wordlessly fills two glasses of water, hands one to Jisung, and pulls some pain meds from the cabinet, knocking two back and chasing them with a gulp of water. They then bid each other a good night before entering their separate rooms. Changbin collapses in his bed, still in his party clothes, and tries to erase Felix's face from his mind. Hyunjin is probably fucking him upstairs at the party now, Changbin laments bitterly, squeezing his eyes shut as he wills himself to go to sleep.

Just before he succeeds, he hears retching noises from across the apartment. Right on time, he thinks, drifting off as Jisung purges the alcohol from his system.

✧༺✦✮✦༻✧

"Hi, you must be Felix?" Felix jumps, looking up with large brown eyes at the man with a familiar accent.

It's the first Friday of the semester and he was previously alone in the library, getting a jumpstart on his reading for the weekend. He certainly hadn't expected to encounter someone who not only knows who he is, but who also sounds like home.

"I'm sorry I startled you. I'm Chan," the man says as he pulls out the chair across from Felix's and sits down. He continues, "Professor Morales in the music department told me about you, told me to keep an eye out for you on campus. You're new this semester? Started college in Sydney then decided to transfer here for the combined music and dance program?"

Stunned, all Felix could do was nod. Chan gives him a wide smile and starts conversing with him, and Felix slowly feels himself relax as he responds. Chan has a calming presence about him, with kind eyes and an infectious laugh. Felix learns that Chan is from Australia as well—the accent gave him away, of course—and that Professor Morales had told Chan about Felix so that he could serve as a mentor to the new student. Chan had intended to reach out via email, but he was in the library to retrieve a book when he happened to see Felix and decided to introduce himself.

"I'm really glad you did!" Felix says. "I haven't made any friends yet. There's one guy in my Modern Dance class that seems cool, he occasionally makes sarcastic comments to me about what's happening in class, but we haven't talked much."

Chan nods. "Well, let me get your number! I'd be happy to show you around and introduce you to some people!"

Felix tells Chan his number, and Felix's phone buzzes a minute later with a text.

"Thanks!" Felix says as he opens his phone and saves Chan's contact. "Hey, I heard there's a party at a house off campus tonight. Are you going?"

Chan shakes his head. "Nah, I've been in a groove with this song today. I just came in here to grab a book for this assignment before the weekend, so I plan to work on that the rest of the day. If I get it done, I might come out, but I doubt it. I think my roommates are going though! You should go, see if you can link up with them. Their names are Jisung and Changbin, and they'll probably be with a couple other guys."

Chan opens his phone again, navigating to Instagram and after finding what he was looking for, places it in front of Felix.

"Here they are. The guy with the muscles is Changbin, and the guy wearing the cap is Jisung."

Felix observes the picture. The two men are flanking Chan; to his left is a guy with a heart shaped smile, wearing a backwards baseball cap over his fluffy brown hair and throwing up a peace sign, but the one to Chan's right is who catches Felix's eye. He's shorter than Chan with curly dark hair, wearing a basic black T-shirt stretched across a broad chest and muscular arms. It's his gorgeous smile that really catches Felix's attention, however: his breath catches in his throat as he feels warmth radiating from the image. That one, Changbin, he reminds himself, looks like someone he'd love to get to know better.

Playing it cool, Felix nods at Chan, pushing his phone back across the table. "I'll keep an eye out for them! Thanks!"

"No worries!" Chan stands to leave. "Well, I'll leave you to it. Let me know how the party goes, and text me any time, seriously."

"Thanks mate!" Felix replies, drawing a grin from Chan.

"It's really great to meet another Aussie," Chan says warmly, to which Felix nods in agreement. "Catch ya later!"

"Bye!" Felix waves after him before turning back to his textbook. After a few minutes of reading the same paragraph over and over, he sighs and closes the book before shoving it into his backpack. Once he's packed up, he leaves the library with a bounce in his step, excited for the party. He feels optimistic that he can make some friends tonight.

That evening, he digs through his closet looking for something to wear. Getting dressed up for parties is one of his favorite things to do, and soon he's deliberating between a slinky silver blouse and a purple tank top.

As he's weighing the pros and cons of each shirt, his roommate shouts from the other side of the room, "I can hear you talking to yourself!"

"Oh, sorry!" Felix replies sheepishly before grabbing both shirts and turning to display them to his roommate. "Seungmin, what do you think? Which one?"

Seungmin turns in his seat, clearly unamused, and makes a face. "Neither," he unhelpfully replies.

He starts to turn back to his computer, but Felix interrupts again. "What would you suggest?"

Seungmin pauses and rolls his eyes. "I'm not the partying type. You'll have to ask someone else."

Felix's face fell. "I don't have anyone else to ask," he murmurs sadly.

Seungmin has not been the friendliest person Felix has encountered at his new school. His roommate is quiet and reserved, and though he isn't outright hostile, Felix can tell that his bubbly personality is annoying to the other. Felix turns back to the closet to comb through his clothes again, having given up on asking his roommate for help.

Despite his pushback, Seungmin seems to take pity on him, rising from his chair to join Felix at the closet. "The silver will stand out too much in this crowd," Seungmin explains, taking the top from Felix, "and the purple is going to be too cold. Parties can get hot, but the one you're going to is usually pretty lowkey, and you're going to freeze outside in that." Seungmin hangs both shirts back in the closet before flipping through the other shirts. Felix stands back, watching as Seungmin pulls out a black top with long lace sleeves. "Perfect," Seungmin proclaims, handing Felix the shirt.

Felix regards the shirt, brow furrowed. "Why is this perfect?" Truth be told, Felix had overlooked it the first time, dismissing it as too bland for a party.

"Most people are fairly casual at parties here, so you won't stand out too much. It does have a bit of sexiness to it with the lace though, so you might catch a few eyes," Seungmin explains. "Plus, it looks really form-fitting, and you seem to have a nice body," he continues, blushing and looking at the floor.

Felix makes a noise of surprise, not expecting to receive a compliment from his roommate. "Thank you," he musters out.

"I'm not gay, just so you know," Seungmin quickly adds. "I just appreciate bodies aesthetically, you know?" He turns a deeper shade of red as he explains.

Seungmin won't meet his eyes, so Felix has to verbally respond instead of nodding. "Okay, well thank you for your help, I'll go with this then."

Seungmin grunts before sitting back down at his desk and focusing on his computer again, leaving Felix to putter around the room on his own, laying out his outfit. He checks his phone and notices it's already 11. He quickly changes into his outfit, jumping into his tight jeans before moving to his dresser to put on jewelry. He fills the holes in his ears with glittery silver earrings and swaps out his plain nose stud for a shiny gem, then goes to the bathroom to apply makeup. Despite Seungmin's suggestion that he remain lowkey, he swipes glitter across his nose and cheeks, smiling at how it draws attention to the freckles on his face.  He finishes off the sparkles with a silver gem under each eye and applies smoky eyeshadow and eyeliner that's maybe a hint on the dramatic side, but Felix loves how he looks when he admires the finished product.

Once he emerges from the bathroom, he pauses to take in the effect in the full-length mirror. Seungmin was right: the shirt clings to his torso, showing off a hint of the abs that Felix had spent the summer earning. He turns from side to side, admiring his outfit from all angles, and suddenly meets Seungmin's eyes in the mirror. Turning to him, he asks, "Well? What do you think?"

Seungmin's face flushes as he stammers out, "Y-yeah, you look good." He manages to recover, adding, "What is on your face though?"

"You don't like it?" Felix asks, concerned.

"It's just…a lot. You'll definitely stand out," Seungmin explains.

"I want to stand out! I need to put myself out there and make friends!" Felix argues.

"Cannot relate," Seungmin grumbles. "You look nice though." Felix's eyes narrow, still clearly concerned, so Seungmin continues, "I promise. Now go out there and be a social butterfly."

Felix laughs. "You should come with me!"

Seungmin shoots him a glare. "Absolutely not. Now go, you'll miss the party if you don't hurry up." He turns back to the computer, missing Felix's pout.

"Okay, see you later," Felix responds before heading out the door. As he walks from the dorm, he briefly wonders what Seungmin's deal is before pushing it out of his mind.  Instead, he reminds himself of the names and faces of Chan's friends to be on the lookout for. He remembers Changbin's smile and can't help smiling himself. I hope I get to meet him, he thinks. He realizes he's daydreaming and walking slowly, letting the cold get to him, so he shivers and picks up the pace, walking briskly so he can get there faster.

Soon, he approaches the party house. There are a few people outside, smoking on the porch, and Felix nods at them as he steps up. He doesn't recognize any of their faces, so he heads inside. As he opens the door, he's greeted by a rush of warm air, which is extremely welcome after the walk over. A few people turn to look at him, but he doesn't seem to draw much attention as he turns to close the door.

Suddenly, he hears "DIBS!" yelled from somewhere in the room, and immediately turns to see where the voice was coming from. He notices other people looking around as well, and one by one they turn back to observe him.

Felix blushes, asking a nearby person, "Was that at me?" The woman shrugs and laughs before turning back to her friends. Well, that's one way to make an entrance I guess, Felix thinks before moving further into the room, looking for familiar faces or any indication of who yelled. After a minute, he catches a flash of purple hair in his peripheral vision and focuses on the person, noticing that the hair belongs to his sarcastic Modern Dance classmate. He is speaking to a taller man with long blond hair, half pulled back with a ribbon, and there's a third man slung between them, his face obscured by a solo cup.

As Felix approaches, the purple haired man—was his name Minho? Felix tries to remember—makes eye contact with him and nods. Felix smiles gratefully and soon reaches the trio.

"Hey, Felix!" the man greets.

"Minho, right? Man, am I glad to see you. I don't know anyone," Felix says with a sigh.

Minho nods to confirm his name before saying, "Hey, don't worry. I'll introduce you to some people. This is Hyunjin, this one is my boyfriend Jisung…" Felix's eyes snap to the man draped on Minho, seeing his face clearly now that he's put the cup down, "and that's Changbin." Minho points to the couch, where the face Felix was most excited to see is staring intently at his phone, clearly trying very hard to not engage in the conversation. When Changbin only replies with a grunt, Minho explains, "He's had a bit too much to drink so he's kind of out of it." Felix studies him, noticing how much sterner he looks when he's not smiling. Why won't he even look at me? Felix wonders sadly.

"Anyway, let's go get you a drink," Minho continues, and Felix allows himself to be escorted into the kitchen.

Once there, Minho pours some jungle juice into a solo cup from a beverage dispenser and hands it to him. "What's in this?" Felix asks, wrinkling his nose at the smell.

"Who knows? I only had a cup, but it got Jisung and Changbin pretty sloshed, so take it easy," Minho advises as Felix takes a small sip and grimaces, which Minho notices. "Yeah, this batch isn't as good as the first one was. They used up all the good mixers first."

Felix nods and takes another sip, mustering up the courage to ask what was on his mind. "Did you hear someone yell 'dibs' when I walked in?"

Minho holds back a laugh. "Yeah, I did."

"Do you know who it was?" Felix timidly asks.

"I wouldn't worry too much. People around here do that shit all the time," Minho reassures.

"It…it wasn't Changbin, was it? He did not look happy when I came over to you."

"Oh no, it wasn't him. I was in here when it happened, and it definitely came from the doorway to the living room, not over where we were standing," Minho lies easily.

Felix accepts it as the truth. "Oh, okay."

The conversation stalls as Minho receives a text, and while he responds, Felix takes the opportunity to check his own phone. He sees that Chan texted him at 11:30, asking how the party was going, and Felix wonders how much he should tell him.

Felix [12:10am]
It's good, I found my classmate and your friends!

Felix [12:11am]
Also, when I walked into this party, someone yelled dibs, lmao.

Just as he finishes typing, Minho puts his phone back in his pocket, causing Felix to follow suit. Minho then suggests that they go back into the living room to rejoin the group. Felix agrees, but when they reach their previous spot, only Hyunjin remains. "Changbin got an Uber, took Jisung home."

"Oh good," Minho breathes a sigh of relief.

"You didn't want to take care of Jisung tonight, did you?" Hyunjin teases, to which Minho shudders.

"I wish he wouldn't drink so damn much. He can't hold his liquor. That's why I barely drink anymore, so I can take care of him," Minho laments.

Felix tries to resist prying, but ultimately asks, "Is he okay? Like, does he just really like to party?"

Minho sighs. "He does it to release stress. He's got an anxiety disorder but the medication he's on has side effects that he doesn't like, so he won't take them most of the time."

"Has he tried weed?" Felix follows up.

"He hates smoking. Plus, he's a musician, he's got to be careful with his lungs."

Felix absorbs this knowledge. "What about edibles?"

Minho considers this suggestion. "I don't think he's tried them."

"I could bake him some brownies?" Felix offers.

Minho brightens at the suggestion. "You bake?"

Felix smiles. "Yeah! I love baking. That's how I relieve my stress. And I know how to make them so you can barely taste the weed."

Minho claps Felix on the shoulder. "I like you, Felix. I think you'll be good to have around! Don't you think Hyunjin?"

They both turn to look at the blond, who has remained quiet since he explained where the others went. Hyunjin's dark eyes focused on Felix's face, making him shiver.

"Yeah," Hyunjin answers, "I think he'll be a great addition to the group."

He smirks as he licks his lower lip, and Felix gets a slightly predatory vibe from him, as if he is a mouse and Hyunjin is a hawk, ready to swoop down and fly him off in his claws to be devoured.

He shakes it off quickly, nodding along as Minho and Hyunjin talk about having a gaming night the next night at 'the apartment.'

"Whose apartment?" Felix asks.

"Jisung's! He lives with Changbin and our friend Chan. We usually hang out there," Minho explains.

Hyunjin takes a step closer to Felix and chimes in, "You should come with us tomorrow."

It's said less like an invitation and more like a command, which both thrills and slightly intimidates Felix. He takes a large swig of his drink and nods, staying silent as Minho and Hyunjin continue to chat.

Soon, Felix's drink is gone and Minho bids his goodbyes, making sure to exchange numbers with Felix before heading out the door. Felix decides he should leave as well, but Hyunjin grabs him gently by the wrist. "You just got here. Don't you want to stay? The party's winding down, and those of us who stay late like to sit and pass a bong around, just shoot the shit, you know?"

Felix meets his eyes, and they look kinder than before, more trustworthy. He nods, and Hyunjin leads him into the kitchen, still holding onto his wrist, to refill their drinks. The jungle juice is almost gone, but enough is left to fill their cups before they head back into the living room. About a dozen people remain, and Hyunjin deposits Felix onto the couch before going to a cabinet in the corner and producing a large blue bong. Several cheers sound as guests notice the new attraction, and a couple people leave while the rest settle around the coffee table, either on the floor or on the various seats framing the room.

Hyunjin squeezes onto the couch between someone named Jackson and Felix, who tries to scoot against the arm of the couch to make as much room as possible. Hyunjin is pressed against him from knee to shoulder, but Felix finds that he doesn't mind so much. The drink has made him feel floaty, and he's a cuddler by nature anyway.

Hyunjin packs and lights the bong, inhaling deeply before passing it to Felix, who follows suit. Once he passes it to the person sitting on the floor closest to him, he flops back, landing on Hyunjin's arm which has been stretched across the back of the couch. Felix shoots forward with an apology, but Hyunjin pulls him back by the shoulder gently and says, "It's fine. Are you uncomfortable?"

Felix shakes his head and allows Hyunjin to pull him closer, eventually resting his head on Hyunjin's shoulder. They sit like that for over an hour, chatting with the rest of the group as well as between themselves, passing the bong around and drinking. Felix sinks deeper into the couch, his head full of cotton candy and his skin pleasantly buzzing. He sighs contentedly and allows his eyes to slide closed, enjoying the comfortably numb feeling from the drugs in his system.

It seems like he's barely closed his eyes when he feels Hyunjin removing his arm from around his shoulders, being careful to keep him upright as he sits up on the couch.

"Felix?" Hyunjin calls quietly, and Felix's eyes flutter open to see Hyunjin's beautiful face extremely close to his. "Do you want me to take you home?"

Felix blinks away the sleep and nods, and Hyunjin takes him by the hands and gently helps him up. The rush of movement helps to wake Felix up, and he releases Hyunjin's hands to make sure he can stand unassisted.

"You good?" Hyunjin asks, taking a cautious step back to allow Felix to move away from the couch.

"Yeah, sorry I dozed off there," Felix chuckles, his voice even deeper than usual from tiredness.

Hyunjin smiles at him and takes him by the hand. "Come on, let's get you home. Where do you live?" He threads his fingers through Felix's as he leads him out, which makes Felix's heart do a small flip. As they step outside, the cold air shocks Felix, waking him up even more. "Felix?"

"Oh, sorry. What did you say?" Felix asks.

"Where do you live? Are you on campus?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm in Murphy."

"That's not far to walk. Are you okay? Do you want me to call you an Uber?"

"No, I can walk, that's fine." Felix starts to pull away, but Hyunjin tightens his grip.

"I'll walk you. It'll do me some good, too."

They begin walking down the street towards campus in a comfortable silence. Felix isn't quite sure why Hyunjin hasn't released his hand, but it is cold enough that he's thankful for the additional warmth.

Soon, they arrive in front of Felix's dorm. "You good from here?" Hyunjin asks, turning towards Felix but still holding his hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. Do you live far away?" Felix inquires, a bit concerned for his new friend.

"Nah, I live back at the party house with Jackson. I'll be fine," Hyunjin answers with a smirk.

"Oh! Well…thanks for walking me home, you didn't have to." Felix's eyes meet Hyunjin's, and for a second he wonders if Hyunjin was going to make a move on him.

Hyunjin just hums, releasing Felix's hand so he can pull Felix to him in a warm hug. As Hyunjin loosens his hold, Felix feels the soft press of lips on his forehead. Felix looks up at Hyunjin with surprised eyes, but Hyunjin just smiles at him. "See you tomorrow?" Hyunjin asks.

Felix nods and returns the smile before saying, "Good night."

"Night, Lix," Hyunjin replies.

Felix flushes at the nickname before turning to head into the dorm. He makes his way down the hallway, trying to be as quiet as possible as he opens the door to his room. Seungmin is asleep, so Felix fumbles around in the dark, managing to grab a T-shirt and shorts out of his drawer—a bit more noisily than he meant to—before stripping and putting on his comfy clothes. He lies in the dark, staring up at the ceiling with his head spinning, trying to interpret his interactions with Hyunjin. His phone buzzes, and he sees a text from Chan. I'll reply in the morning, Felix thinks, closing his eyes. He finally drifts off, dreaming about Hyunjin's lips pressed against his skin.
