Work Text:
Dazai was cold. So cold. That was all he could think about as he sat in his room.
Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but for some reason he can't stop thinking about it. The warmth others radiate that he can't seem to call his own-
Snap out of it. It's almost ridiculous how much the agency has changed him, he can barely believe he survived in a steel container for so long. But it isn't just the agency, now he has Chuuya and Kunikida to call his own.
...He really wants them right now. Or, even better, to just feel a glimpse of their warmth. He can't just go up and ask, that'd be foolish and make him seem clingy though. Chuuya would just complain about how much of a waste of time it is, and Kunikida would so the same. They're so similar it's infuriating.
Maybe he could just act like he's sick or something? No, that seems like too much work. And they'd probably just yell at him. He doesn't need to concern them with something like this. He's a man- he just needs to man up.
....
....
....
That didn't help. Now he just wants them even more, and it's all he can think about. It's not even that cold of a day, why is he acting so weak? Everyone knows weakness like that will eventually kill you.
This is pathetic. Utterly pathetic. He's a Ex Mafia executive for crying out loud. And he can't even handle a little problem like this? He doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.
If only Atsushi could see him right now. He'd probably just respond back with some sassy remark- but he's exactly the same with Akutagawa, Dazai knows that firsthand. He should remind him to be more careful with his phone next time he sees him~
Anyways. Back to the issue at hand. How to get his boyfriends to warm him up. Jumping on them is a viable option, but that's just end with him getting thrown off. And he'd like to linger to the touch as long as possible, so ending it quickly is a no go. Maybe he really should just say something?
No. If he does, it's possible they'll just give him an item of clothing. Chuuya's gloves are really nice, but that's not what he wants. Kunikida would just tell him ways to stay warm or things to eat or drink that'll warm him right up. It's sweet in it's own way, but still not ideal.
I wonder if there's anything in his notebook about this. Or if being a Sheep taught Chuuya anything. Those thoughts were ridiculous, but he couldn't help but simmer on them.
Aughhhh, this was ridiculous. Maybe he really should just-
ding.
Hmm? Why did his phone just go off? It couldn't hurt to take a look.
Go outside, idiot
Ah. Chuuya. He would recognize that style of writing anywhere, it hasn't changed since they were kids.
ding.
Another one? Maybe he came up with a new insult to use.
Ignore his rude remark. But come outside as soon as possible you waste of bandages.
Dazai just chuckled. Apologizing for him being mean and then being mean himself. The perfect paradox. He was quite intrigued as to why they both wanted him to outside, so he pulled on his coat and headed out.
He didn't know what to expect, but it certainly wasn't them waiting for him.
"Took you long enough! I could have watched a movie while I was waiting. Here I was thinking we could have a nice break but no, you had to get pampered up." Chuuya complained.
Dazai just glanced at Kunikida and tried to see what they were planning.
Kunikida glared at him. "You were oddly quiet, and of course your lazy bones didn't seem to think to message us and see if we wanted to do something so here we are."
"Hey!!! Are you ignoring me or something?" Chuuya shouted.
Dazai was filled with a strange emotion. The idea that these two came here just because they felt like it was incomprehensible. They weren't forced to or even asked, and yet here they were. Why?
A loud groan.interupted him. "You're overthinking again bastard." Chuuya gripped his hand and dragged him forward. "Now come on, we're going to have a nice day together whether you like it or not."
Kunikida followed behind them. "Let me guess, you just planned on lying in bed all day, didn't you? Don't you know that's awful for your health? You could be so much more productive." Kunikida pulled out his notebook and made a note. "Since you won't do it yourself, seems I'm going to have to set alarms for you to keep you active."
Oh. That's right. They really did love him. They showed it in their own ways, but it was seen clearly through their thoughts and actions. He just had to reciprocate them, in his own special way.
"Awww, how thoughtful of you two! I've never considered it in my plan, but we could always do a triple suicide~" He grabbed Kunikida's hand. "Just the three of us!"
"HELL NO!" "I refuse to participate in whatever suicidal plans you have, unlike you I have a life to live."
"You're both so mean!" He whined. A soft chuckle escaped his lips and he realized just how much he loved them. And suddenly another realization came to him...
He was finally warm.
