Luo Binghe Wants to Do WHAT With Xin Mo?!

Summary:

Xin Mo has lived as Xin Mo for quite a while now, he almost forgot all about Luo Binghe and his total OP-ness.

So, he is pleasantly surprised when Luo Binghe finally comes upon his trapped form and wields him for the first time in centuries... If only he wasn't so hungry, maybe he would have made a proper first impression as an awesome blade of destruction :/

Oh well! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Chapter 1: Introductions

Summary:

Binghe meets Xin Mo and his assumptions are challenged.

Notes:

Had this uh, thing sitting in my drafts... ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭

A bit darker of a story than I usually delve into, so beware of the tags for future chapters <3

Important note! Xin Mo!SY is well used to biologically feeding on/needing sex energy, etc, which had earlier Dub-Con/Non-Con issues in the beginning of his PIDW experience, but him and Luo Binghe are purely consensual in their bond and scenes. They're just not safe or really sane since Luo Binghe literally ends up cutting himself with Xin Mo!SY in part to feed him blood and as a result of sleeping with a literal fucking sword in his bed 😭

Also, I'm still working out SJ's fate, but I will say that he does experience similar treatment to the OG PIDW plot in this... (。•́︿•̀。) yeaaah

Anywho, please enjoy~ lol

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Hungry… So very hungry ,” Xin Mo loudly throbbed into the empty expanse of the advanced array that was keeping him contained. For the many years of his life in this world, he only knew this unending bloodlust and hunger.

The once familiar blue skies and tall buildings were a long-distant memory for him to mindlessly pull on during tough times. Forgotten faces but remembered bonds and feelings constantly throbbed in the back of his head when he tried to reminisce on his past life.

After consuming and possessing thousands of wielders, he had grown disconnected from his former life as a human. He was a spirit now, a sword spirit living in this world of demons and cultivators. He was Xin Mo.

A flicker of Qi, powerful and drool-worthy caught his attention. Xin Mo shuddered and vibrated where he was stuck into the ground, his energy rattling the skeletons that rested around his ruined tomb.

This way traveler, this Xin Mo is down here ,” he called out to them, forcing the desperation from the siren-like call, his energy masked into something sweet and enticing rather than the rotted miasma he has become. He grew excited as this naive wielder drew closer, forcing their way past the various traps and powerful beasts that stood between them.

After some meager time passed, Xin Mo nearly let out a croon when the door shuddered and opened. “ Greetings, Master,” he purred enticingly, shifting his limitless gaze to focus on the harried-looking halfling at the entrance.

They were a scrawny thing with unruly black hair, almost human looking besides the red symbol pulsing on its forehead. The halfling– was that Heavenly Demon blood Xin Mo sensed?!

Something familiar stirred in the back of his mind, the faintest recollection of the young hero’s plights and bedmates. ‘ The protagonist!!!’ Xin Mo internally squealed, his excitement and anticipation tainting the air as he rattled from where he was stuck in the ground (long, boring background story).

He watched Luo Binghe(!) approach him with the proper amount of caution. When his foot crossed the arrays and he carefully brought a hand to Xin Mo’s hilt, many things happened at once.

Xin Mo instinctively attached himself to Luo Binghe’s meridians like a leech, his biting and dark energy gnawing at the protagonist’s defenses with the swiftness of a knife. He was startled when he felt the answering energy of another demon, already residing in the young man’s mind.

Xin Mo snarled at the unwanted demon, “ This one is mine. Beat it, Old Man,” he snarled at the man’s intangible form, Meng Mo he faintly recalled.

” Eat this,” the elder demon replied, snarling and just as possessive as he directed Xin Mo’s starved energy elsewhere with the use of his powers. The sword spirit grudgingly dragged through Luo Binghe’s ill-formed meridians as he was redirected to a cracked cradle seal.

The movement and intense pain made his new host howl out and kneel on the floor, his head dipping and pressing to the sword’s hilt as the array began to awaken. Skeletons pulled themselves together, slow and nerve-wracking with Luo Binghe’s momentary weakness.

Xin Mo circled the cradle seal with interest. A wordless rumble of appreciation made Luo Binghe shiver as the demon probed at his sealed power before he ate it in one bite.

Luo Binghe gasped, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as his powers were finally released. Red eyes snapped open and his instincts went into overdrive as he pulled the red and black blade from the ground and dodged a skeletal hand.

Xin Mo stretched and pushed his way into the deep Qi reservoirs, fueling and eating in turn as he was wielded for the first time in centuries. He had forgotten how intoxicating it was to be wielded by a Heavenly Demon– only experiencing such power once or twice before in his long back story.

Ah, as expected of Luo Binghe, ” he sighed as his dusty blade was soaked with decayed organic material and the dark resentment that had revived the skeletons. He blinked when the Heavenly Demon tripped over his foot and speared him into the ground, the both of them exchanging confused glances.

Luo Binghe was forced to push the strange comment to the side as jumped away from a conglomerate of warped and strengthened bones. The senseless mixture of skulls, femurs, and sharpened stones tried to crush the protagonist. Eventually, he was able to teleport behind it and give it a final series of slashes.

The tomb was silent and heavy with the scent of decay and stale air, the silence only broken by Luo Binghe’s quiet panting.

A desperate whine rattled through Xin Mo at the quick fight, the peace grating against his unwanted biological need for carnage, lust– Yin, give him all of the Yin and Yang this world held! That small battle and only the energy from the cradle seal were akin to a raindrop in the sea of hunger he experienced after decades of starvation.

Xin Mo violently shook in his wielder’s hand, wordlessly pulsing and strongly encouraging him to seek out more and stronger enemies to sate the void that threatened to take his sanity.

Xin Mo has grown mindless in his hunger. Not unlike a mindless demonic beast needing to be tamed into submission ,” Meng Mo spoke with disdain as he observed the writhing sword spirit. Xin Mo, while formless and unwilling to reveal himself, merely sent the man a biting, yet contained pulse of energy that made Luo Binghe flinch.

” Xin Mo,” Luo Binghe wearily called, his voice making the sword spirit perk up and push at his core in a rough, bullying manner. The Heavenly Demon placed a hand on his stomach, his brow furrowing and his lip pulling into a sneer as he gripped the black hilt and forced Xin Mo’s energy back in reprimand.

Xin Mo wailed in return, his desperation reaching new heights as he tried to guide the protagonist. He pushed and pulled the Heavenly Demon to look at the nearest living creatures above them, his dark energy frantically ramming against the constructed barriers around Luo Binghe’s mind and core.

More! More! I need more blood– more energy to be sated, Master. If you do not provide it for me, I won’t be able to stop eating you like the rest! ” Xin Mo begged aloud, his voice wild and breathless as he instinctively winded around Luo Binghe’s core like a waiting viper. Luo Binghe frowned yet nodded, a determined gleam settling into his eyes as he circulated his energy into the barrier.

” This one will provide such things and more, as long as Xin Mo fulfills his end and aids this one in his conquests,” Luo Binghe told him, his grip loosening and tightening as he kept the sword spirit from forcibly completing their bond. Xin Mo leaned into the barrier, sticking his teeth into the soft exterior and guiltily delighting in the protagonist’s quick heart rate and sweating skin.

As long as Master fulfills his responsibilities, Xin Mo allows himself to be wielded and pledges his full loyalty. If Binghe fails to do so, he will have to bear the force of this one’s hunger,” Xin Mo couldn’t help but nervously giggle at the protagonist’s reaction. A faint flush and flinch at the personal address, before his expression smoothed into a calm mask.

But Xin Mo could sense everything within his newest wielder.

He could sense the inner turmoil and hatred for his Shizun, Shen Qingqiu of Qing Jing Peak. The twisting of his blackened heart. The delicious taste of his inner heart demons made him want to ferally bite and tear into the Heavenly Demon, his energy biting into the barrier around his core and mind once more.

This Master thinks his student should go and slaughter some demons, lest Xin Mo loses his senses and decides to eat his wielder this very moment, ” Meng Mo probed Luo Binghe, making the young man startle from observing the blade and nod.

After defeating a mob of demonic beasts and lying with a powerful demoness, Xin Mo seemed to be temporally sated. He twined his energy around Luo Binghe’s chest, gently working his way through the half-demon’s twisted heart pathways with an almost loving touch. Luo Binghe sleepily furrowed his brow at the mending sensation, his hand rubbing his chest next to where the demoness’ head rested.

Is Xin Mo still hungry despite this Binghe’s efforts? ” He mentally asked, his hesitance and confusion clear in his thoughts as he addressed the demon. His energy attempted to drive Xin Mo away from tampering with his meridians, but the powerful sword spirit merely clung to him like a stubborn blanket.

His energy twisted as Binghe pushed and channeled his Qi, the spirit expertly twining and moving in a graceful dance. It was getting to the point where Binghe could barely tell their energies apart, given how much the spirit was funneling and circulating.

No, this Xin Mo is pleased with Binghe, ” Xin Mo replied, sleepy and gentle as he pulsed his contentment into the halfling’s mind and his warming chest. Luo Binghe’s eyebrows shot to his hairline and he sent the sword a bewildered look, Meng Mo drifted closer to his consciousness with an intrigued hum.

...That was enough to sate your hunger? ” Luo Binghe asked, clearly baffled. He and Meng Mo were expecting to have to kill and bed twice the amount of demons and demonesses to appease the starved sword spirit. Meng Mo knew the hunger of the insatiable spirit was akin to a gaping cavern.

Xin Mo contentedly pulsed and kneaded at a pathway, fixing it with his careful ‘hands’. It was the least he could do to make up for his bratty behavior with the protagonist.

For now,” Xin Mo easily replied, making himself comfortable throughout Luo Binghe’s body despite the Heavenly Demon’s weariness and instinctual pushbacks. “ Binghe’s seal was very filling– very powerful magic there. Maternal and protective to hide you from danger ,” he explained, the information making Luo Binghe’s blood freeze and his eyes blink.

What? ” The young man asked, instinctually sitting up and accidentally disrupting the demoness’ sleep. When he didn’t reply to her growling question, she merely took her leave and left the cave they had used for their pleasure.

Xin Mo purred when Luo Binghe pulled him closer, his hand clenching the black hilt as he looked down at the dimly glinting steel body of the sword. Within the blade, he could just barely make out the spirit residing in the sword. The sentient blade showed the image of a young man with surprisingly fine if starved features, short hair, and hooded eyes that glinted a vibrant hue in his red and black steel.

Xin Mo looked toward him, their eyes connecting in that red mirror. Those vibrant eyes widened before the image focused on him more. “ Huh, are you looking at me? Binghe sees my true self within this blade? ” Xin Mo muttered through their link, interested in how the young demon followed the movement of his head.

Luo Binghe dumbly nodded. Xin Mo gave him a sweet-looking smile for a demon with sharp teeth as they examined one another. Awe and interest resonated from Xin Mo, further confusing Luo Binghe as he observed the spirit in turn.

As this one was saying, ” he murmured through their link, looking to the side in thought. “ Binghe’s seal held energy that tasted of his kin. Perhaps a mother, aunt, or grandmother trying to protect him from others looking to feast on or kill an infant Heavenly Demon,” he told the young man.

He wished they could have met earlier before some of his memories faded, but he had a feeling that that dreaded Airplane had scraped the interesting plotline in favor of some useless papapa scene as he was prone to.

Binghe didn’t know what to say about this insight. Meng Mo had given him a vague answer before the seal had broken, the demon unsure of what type of demon he was since he was limited to his head. He was intrigued by the entire situation, unsure of where to even start given the clarity of the spirit (once fed).

While he knew swords could become sentient and tangible with great power, he was only used to the bright yet unutilized energy of Zheng Yang. He never even heard his former blade’s voice, he bitterly reflected on his sabotaged learning and core development.

In contrast, his scum teacher’s brilliant sword spirit always floated around the peak with her head held high and untouchable. The sword and her master cold and aloof to the struggles of their mortal students.

Xin Mo licked at his heart in interest, nibbling at the resentment tinging Luo Binghe’s heart meridians. Luo Binghe blinked at the spirit, as it helped temper his heart demons rather than encourage the festering within him. He rubbed at his chest a bit harder as he felt his chest lightening and his mind gaining some clarity with each pass of Xin Mo’s energy.

The spirit within the blade ducked his head and shyly blinked at the young demon once he finished dispersing the Yin. “ Binghe must be careful thinking of such resentments when he is resting with this one. His anger and hurts will only make this one’s hunger rise prematurely and create a neverending cycle, ” Xin Mo explained.

Luo Binghe couldn’t help but dumbly tilt his head as he and Meng Mo looked over the sword spirit with renewed interest. “ Xin Mo…doesn’t wish to possess this Binghe and eat all of his power when he is weakened? Even after knowing he is a Heavenly Demon?” Luo Binghe asked him, his words slow as he tried to wrap his head around the demon.

They were prepared to tackle the demon’s crafty and aggressiveness. Not this demure, almost friendly thing that brushed through Luo Binghe’s meridians and mind like a neglected cat wishing for its owner’s attention. The image projected, loud and clear in their bond. Xin Mo bristled in anger at the comparison

am not a pet, ” Xin Mo growled, his energy clawing into Luo Binghe’s brain at the perceived slight of being compared to a cat. Seen only as a mindless thing for his wielder to own and use as they pleased without any concern for his wishes. “ Binghe should remember the power this one holds and not grow… complacent or think he can treat this one as he pleases, ” Xin Mo warned him, the spirit within the blade simmering with a dark look.

A large hand brushed over his uncleaned blade as Luo Binghe gave him a slightly apologetic look with wide eyes and a pouting lip. A look he had often given Ning YingYing when she scolded him for how he spoke about Shen Qingqiu when he rarely vented to her.

Amusingly, that seemed enough to settle Xin Mo, who merely gave him another harmless nip with his energy and disappeared deeper into his blade. “ This Binghe will keep Xin Mo’s needs in mind. All he must do is tell this one and he will do his best to sate them,” Luo Binghe promised, his lips pulling into a smooth smile.

Xin Mo distantly hummed in his hand, the sense of doubt and the message of “ We will see about that,” transferring over their bond. With that, Xin Mo pulled from his chest and settled near his core, much like Zheng Yang used to when settling into an energy-conserving state of being.

Luo Binghe gently placed his hand over his warm stomach and eased into a light sleep as Meng Mo stretched his senses and monitored their location. It was a bit ironic, Luo Binghe mused to himself in the empty expanse of his dream realm.

Here he was, finding comfort and a hesitant ease amongst energy-sucking demons that he never could have dreamed of indulging in with the sect that had taken him in as a ‘family’.

He settled into a dreamless sleep, unwilling to poke Xin Mo even further by pulling the spirit into his dream realm for further conversation. But he couldn’t keep his interest and a small ball of hope from forming– sure the spirit was temperamental and spiteful at the smallest slight, but he lacked a certain cruelty that his scum Shizun held.

Xin Mo seemed rather… reactionary, instead of purely vindictive and cruel as demons such as Sha Hualing were. He was more akin to a street dog accidentally biting at a familiar hand rather than a predator searching for easy pickings.

When Luo Binghe woke, he gained awareness immediately from the persistent pressure on his mind from both Meng Mo and Xin Mo. “ Binghe, fight! ” Xin Mo ordered, his fierce Qi fueling and energizing the Heavenly Demon from where they were connected, allowing Luo Binghe to swiftly kick up from his moss bed.

He rolled to the side as the Demoness from earlier darted toward him, her blades glinting and fierce as she snarled at him. Luo Binghe scowled at the woman, unamused as she had decided that she would kill him for his flesh and sword after all.

Luo Binghe easily defeated the powerful woman, decapitating her with a swift flick of Xin Mo. The sword spirit purred at the taste of the Yin energy from her core and the splattering of her blood on his blade. When her body crumbled to the ground, Luo Binghe easily knelt down and picked it for any useful materials

Hmm, good work Binghe, ” Xin Mo pulsed, coiling around his exerted core and boosting his reserves as he expertly cycled their energies together. “ Think you can feed this one some more beasts before we leave the abyss? This one is growing peckish from that ambush ,” he seemed to politely nudge and prod at his wielder.

Luo Binghe, unused to such pure compliments and friendly communication from anyone but Ning YingYing, merely nodded as his ears lightly pinked under his hair. Xin Mo, ever circling his body and mind, merely pinned the fluttering of his heart to the fast-paced battle.

Luo Binghe looked to what he had determined to be the ‘sunrise’ of the Endless Abyss and braced himself for the day. They were ready to depart once he had slaughtered forty beasts, unwilling to lay with another demoness so soon, and had his fill of meat.

Binghe may feel some dizziness and other side effects from teleporting for the first time ,” Xin Mo kindly warned him as they stood before a portal, Luo Binghe looked to the blade and nodded. He wearily stepped into the portal and blacked out as he crossed over to the human realm, his large form crashing into the forests on the outskirts of Huan Hua territory.

Xin Mo growled at any large animals that attempted to examine the temporarily unconscious man, his energy cycling and nervously fluttering around Luo Binghe’s meridians. An especially intrigued half-man, half-snake beast slithered away from them at a particularly aggressive swipe from Xin Mo that cut off a portion of his tail.

After living in the Endless Abyss for five grueling years, the effects of the human realm were bound to be overwhelming for his senses and body.

Half a shichen later Luo Binghe came to, his eyes were wide as he found Xin Mo resting on his chest. His dark, biting energy was pulsing outward, repelling any creature that dared to step closer. Instead of biting at him in his moment of weakness, the energy cloaked him like a blanket.

Ah, Binghe is awake,” Xin Mo skittered and withdrew his energy to poke at Luo Binghe’s core. Slightly startled by the pressure, Luo Binghe pushed himself upward and looked around his environment before giving Xin Mo a narrowed-eyed look. “ Eh? What’s Binghe glaring at Xin Mo for? This one warned you ,” Xin Mo complained, nearly whiny with annoyance.

” Apologies. This one is thankful that Xin Mo saw fit to… stand guard over him while he was vulnerable,” Luo Binghe demurred, ignoring Meng Mo’s stifled chuckling and amusement lingering in the back of his mind.

Xin Mo’s bitterness lightened in their connection, easily smoothing over into a smug preen as he was recognized. “ Xin Mo accepts Binghe’s gratitude, ” the sword spirit pressed against his core, his contentment from the feast and getting to stretch his powers making him content once more.

Luo Binghe turned his head and rolled his eyes at the sword spirit’s antics. It was almost endearing how shameless and open the sword spirit was, so friendly despite the menacing and deeply tainted miasma lingering in his energy.

Luo Binghe pushed himself up and strapped the sword to his back, ignoring the childish “ Wee! ” that came with the swinging motion. “ What’s the game plan now kid? ” Meng Mo asked, his presence light and politely distanced from before given how possessively Xin Mo hovered over his meridians and mind.

I need to conquer the demon realm and one of the major sects… Huan Hua Palace should have the resources and power to rival Cang Qiong, ” Luo Binghe mused as he made his way to a nearby stream. He crossed paths with an ugly snake demon hybrid, who hastened away from them with a nervous aura.

After walking for a few minutes, he broke into a clearing and was pleased to find a deep pond with clear, fresh water. His torn and bloodied robes were discarded onto the soft grass after he gently placed Xin Mo to the ground. The sword was thankfully covered with a large leaf so he wouldn’t be forced to see the naked protagonist.

Laying on the soft ground, he was able to catalog the animal sounds and enjoy the nice weather as Luo Binghe cleaned himself off.

Ah, it’s been so long since I’ve been in the human realm,” he muttered, his eyes closing as his blade soaked in the sun's warmth. “ Binghe should clean this one too– when he has the time of course! My blade has to have centuries of dried blood, it would be nice to feel clean for once,” the sword softly nettled, his energy distant with the lack of contact but his presence still firm in Luo Binghe’s heart.

Luo Binghe rubbed his chest absentmindedly as he soaked his curls, the clear water turning a faint pink around him. Before he could reply, a feminine gasp caught his attention. He dropped his naked body into the deep water, but it was still so clear that it was rather futile. “ Apologies Guniang!” He called, his quick eyes catching sight of a gold-clad cultivator.

” A-Ah, it’s alright Gongzi,” she stuttered, her bright red face hidden behind her hands as she peeked at the naked man. “ This one merely came to investigate the disturbance within our territory. Is G-Gongzi perhaps a traveling cultivator trapped in our maze array?” She politely asked.

Luo Binghe noticed the tells of attraction and the scent of her interest his demonic senses could pick up. Eyes widening, he turned and forced his demonic traits under a glamour under the disguise of shielding himself from her as he walked out of the pond.

” Indeed, this humble Luo was traveling after a tumultuous night hunt with his previous sect. This one has been attacked by various demons after being left behind in the demon realm,” the lies flowed from his lips with ease as he moved to Xin Mo and attempted to glamour the hidden demonic blade.

Ah! ” Xin Mo was startled from his thoughts, the female cultivator so weak she hadn’t even registered and broken him from his daydreams. He had been thinking of how nice it would be to be properly taken care of by Luo Binghe’s diligent hands.

Oh, silly Binghe. Let me help. You’ll just have to lay with her or someone else to feed me later tonight, ” Xin Mo nonchalantly waved away the sloppy spell. With Luo Binghe’s lack of training, the woman would have been able to see through the hastily applied glamours.

At once Xin Mo masked his and Luo Binghe’s energies and features, while he easily morphed into a sleek, unassuming blade. Luo Binghe discreetly nodded and quickly threw on his torn and partially destroyed clothes, attaching the disguised sword to his back.

Once finished, he turned and caught the woman staring at his muscular back, her face red yet unassuming of what he was hiding. Luo Binghe was only slightly irked by this bold lusting, but he found he didn’t mind since he was benefitting from the attention.

He fell in step with the woman as she showed him through the array. He couldn’t help but take her up on her wish to tend to his wounds at her post, heavily persuading her against speaking with the Palace Master.

He was just sooo tired and lonely, please let this humble one sleep at Guniang’s side, and a few kicked-puppy looks worked like a charm.

” This Binghe will return to Guniang and stay with Huan Hua Palace in a years time,” he soothed her as they lay together on her bed later that night. Her warm breast rested on his chest as she looked up from his shoulder to pout at him. “ This one must reconnect with his family and see to his estate… Perhaps Guniang can join this one’s side in the future?” He bashfully blinked down at her, his tongue as smooth and slick as a fish.

The woman flushed with excitement and nodded, her cheek resting on his chest once more. Xin Mo sent a pulse of contentment once the cultivator fell into a deep sleep, aided by Luo Binghe’s skill over dreams. He slid out from under her body and picked up the sword that was propped on the bedside.

A bit cloying that one. That demoness from before was much spicer in taste. Nonetheless, thanking Binghe for the meal, ” Xin Mo idly noted, his image bored yet satisfied in the fake blade’s reflection. Luo Binghe huffed at the commentary as he padded around the small hut– an outlook point for this outer area of the sect’s territory.

He grabbed a spare set of robes and shrugged them on, burning the rags that he had found in the Endless Abyss. Luo Binghe slowed as they came to the hut’s inventory, his eyes flicking over the supplies. Xin Mo’s loud gasp made the man lightly jolt from the break in silence.

Before irritation could take hold, he was surprised by the demon’s gentle push at his core.

Much like a puppy tugging on his robes, Xin Mo directed him to a portion of the supplies. “ Ah, these herbs are perfect for Qi rejuvenation potions. They have plenty to spare for Bing-ge, ” Luo Binghe embarrassingly scowled at the endearment, his face beet red. He opened his mouth to retort, but Xin Mo continued speaking and excitedly rambling off useful things he could take.

Xin Mo. Do you always talk to your hosts in this manner? ” Luo Binghe genuinely asked, bewildered as he packed a sparse selection of supplies into a spare bag and then wrote a note for the woman thanking her for her hospitality. Xin Mo sent an interesting pulse of some mixture of emotion, making Luo Binghe look at the blade to better read the demon’s face.

He was not expecting the almost shy look on the demon’s face, nor was his heart prepared for the sincere smile that lined those sallow cheeks when their eyes met. Xin Mo looked to the side, his energy a tight swirl in Luo Binghe’s chest as he tersely replied, “ No. Binghe is the strongest and most deserving of Xin Mo’s guidance, my previous hosts were merely weak fodder– brainless slop only fit for a pig. Binghe is different, ” he huffed.

For a demon such as Xin Mo, this was all but a declaration of love. Luo Binghe turned his head from the blade, unsure and ill at ease with the warmth and affection this demon already seemed to hold for him. Acting as though he had grown alongside Binghe as a sworn brother rather than a parasitic leech of legendary grandeur.

Binghe is destined for great things, this Xin Mo is sure of it, ” that firm voice and assurance made Luo Binghe’s face slacken as his head whipped back to look at the sword. Black eyes took in the sight of Xin Mo’s form in the sword, his face was steady and firm in his conviction.

Xin Mo was looking at him in a way that a teacher looked at a star pupil, a child filled with promise and triumph rather than the pitiful beast Shen Qingqiu regarded him as.

A thick fist clenched Xin Mo’s hilt as Luo Binghe brought Xin Mo closer to his face, his gaze burning as he stared at the spirit’s gaunt face. “ Xin Mo means this? Truly thinks such things of this Binghe?” He whispered, fervently and so intensely that he could feel their energies twist and clench together.

Xin Mo returned his gaze, his face serious and serene as he nodded. “ Xin Mo would never lie to his Binghe,” he murmured, his red gaze shown with a fire that was just as bright as Luo Binghe’s hungry gaze. The spirit lightly shuddered at the feeling of that gaze, “ Binghe knows he is strong. He doesn’t need to fish for compliments, ” he lightly scolded as he finally broke their staring match.

Staring at the blade for a few more minutes, Luo Binghe shook his head as a smile slowly stretched across his face. His hand tightly clenched Xin Mo’s hilt as he stepped from the hut, a finger brushed along the rough surface of the blade as he tilted it under the moonlight.

He looked over his new blade under the pure light with fresh eyes. Xin Mo was nothing like they expected him to be. Clearly, with how openly affectionate his energy was as the spirit settled in guiding it through his winded systems of Demonic and Human Qi without a second thought.

It felt like he could breathe easily for the first time in years. The sabotaged teachings of his teacher and the late corrections of Meng Mo were easily washed over and fixed by Xin Mo’s sure hand. Luo Binghe will return this kindness and care.

Xin Mo shall be cleaned as soon as Binghe can procure the proper materials for him,” Luo Binghe mentally promised, his smile growing as the sword spirit grew giddy and nuzzled at his heart.

Riding a new high from the flurry of events, Luo Binghe allowed his wide grin to stretch over his face as he hefted Xin Mo up and opened a portal to the Demon realm. Faced with a rather forgettable tribe, he quickly set about his plans of taking over and ruling the Demon Realm.
