Chapter 1: Let’s get this show started!
Notes:
Please read the first part of this series to understand my nonsensical idea.
And I'm referencing another one of my stories The Lou Jitsu Family as well as my OC Tao more about him and Raph in Snapper and his Kitty
Thank you and enjoy!

Chapter Text
After talking to the little ones and thinking about it a little more, the brothers decided the Era of the Mad Dogs wasn’t over. Not yet at least.
They had a few options now, starting their career in their own world, go back to the minis world or go for a third realm.
The first one was out of the question. They wanted to do this on their own and given that their dear old dad was Lou Jitsu and they have been revealed as his kids a while ago, they are already famous. They are nape babies for titans sake!
It felt weird to go to the mini’s world, Donnie says it’s called 2-23 for some reason. They gained their fame through brainwashing. As needed as that had been at the time, they wanted a fresh start. One without brainwashing or a reputation.
“Why only one realm when we can go to multiple ones.”, suggested Mikey.
“Like a world tour!”, joked Leo.
His brothers groaned at the awful pun but a greed nonetheless. It was a pretty good idea.
Preparing everything was a mess. Donnie was working on the finishing touches of their portal device. The first version he made wasn’t powerful enough. After their little visit to the little ones, the device broke. Only a few seconds after they got back. Donnie inspected the artifact that had originally gotten them there a little bit more. Hoping it would help him. And help it did.
As Donnie worked his magic - no his genius, his brothers prepared everything else.
Leo packed them a few medications, they may not need them a lot but when they do need them the ones for humans do not work in the slightest. Raph and Mikey were getting a few more outfits ready for them. They couldn’t wear the same ones every time.
They did eventually confess their idea to their family. April wanted to join them, but couldn’t due to being stuck in exams. Cassandra and Casey were out of the city. Cass called it a training program. They hadn’t heard from either of the Jones for about two weeks. It made them a little nervous. Splinter was proud and stressed at the same time. His boys were following his footsteps into the world of fame but he knew the pressure that would put on them. Draxum inspected Donnie’s work to make sure they boys come home.
Before they left Raph went to see his boyfriend and let them know too. None of his brothers know what happened between them, not that they wanted to know Tao and their brother were grossly in love, but Raph came home smiling like an idiot with a new bracelet, clearly made by Tao. Tao was good with jewelry, who else would be of lot them, they made their families cloaking brooches.
“Ready?”, Raph asked his little brothers.
“Ready!”
“Donnie picked up the device from the little charging station while Leo collected the charger. The soft shell proceeded to active the device. A soft purple portal formed in front of them.
“I wonder what that worlds gonna be like.”, said Mikey.
“Maybe the other us are like weirdly big. Like Raph big!”, said Leo.
“Raph doesn’t like that.”, the oldest brother cringed.
“It’s very unlikely that there’s a version of us that’s bigger than Raph-a-la. Close but not bigger. It’s far more likely that we’ll see more versions of us that are shudder quadruplets.”, Donnie explained. Leo cringed at the idea. The remaining two looked at the twins confused.
Somewhere along his research Donnie found out that the four are quadruplets in most worlds. They’re the odd ones out. And something about the idea is being quadruplets made their skin crawl. That was almost as bad as finding out that Leo was more often than not the eldest brother and that Donnie was the second youngest most times. They had both prayed it was only in one world. The had hoped it was only the minis.
Raph and Mikey didn’t really care about all that. It was fun to rile up the twins though.
Finally, they stepped through the portal. They stepped out on a roof top. The world around them looked gloomy and sad. The fact that it was raining didn’t make it better. Mikey, never having been too fond of water, pulled up the hood of his sweater while doing his best to stay dry.
“Let’s get somewhere dry before Angelo gets too wet.”, said Donnie.
The four activated their brooches and left the roof top find a place to wait out the bad weather. They found a convenience store a few houses down.
Now they just had to work out their debut in this world! World 2-12 as Donnie called it. And no, they didn’t know why it was 2-12. Donnie refused to explain why.
“If you know, you know.”, was all he said to them.
While the four travelers are working everything out in a convenience store, four different mutant turtles followed their purple banded brother’s lead on a weird energy only to find an empty, even if wet, roof top.
Notes:
And now I need your help!
I need a few suggestions for songs the boys could perform. Each universes that included above will get two maybe three songs.
Please give me ideas for what songs would fit for what universe. Suggestions as many songs as you’d like. The versions included are 2003, 2007, 2012, Bayverse, Batman, MM and obviously Rise.
Thank you for your help! The story will take a bit to write most likely but I wanted to get the first chapter out to collect as many ideas as I could.
All versions I included are the versions I have seen. I would have loved to include 1987 but I haven’t found the episodes anywhere yet unless you count when I found season 3 on a streaming service. No clue why only season 3.
Chapter 2: After the Blackout // 2-12
Notes:
Starting now, the Rise boys will go by their stage names again. The turtles native to the universe will go by their normal nicknames.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
After Donnie had dedicated that weird energy reading a while ago, he had been picking it up everyone once in a while again but by the time they got to the spot, there was nothing. At least nothing suspicions. Sometimes there was just a little crowd. Nothing too weird for New York.
April was with them one time and gone to ask someone what was going on. Apparently there had been a group of street performers. Again, nothing too odd. It wasn’t like the crowds were there often when they followed the readings. More often than not they were simply met with a whole lot of nothing.
“Are you sure that thing isn’t busted?!”, asked Raph for the 20th time that day alone.
“It’s not! I checked it multiple times!”, argued Donnie.
The two middle children had been getting on each other’s nerves a lot more lately. Mainly because Raph was fed up with the tech leading them astray. He wanted to kick some butt!
Luckily the tension between them was cut off when April walked into the lair. Leo had never been more grateful for their friend.
“You guys won’t believe what I found out!”
“Did you find a new pizza place?”, asked Mikey.
“No.” “Aww…” “I found out who the street performers are!”
“What use is that?”, asked Raph.
“I just thought you could use a break from all that.”, April suggested. Raph and Donnie weren’t the only ones one edge because of those readings. What if the Kraang are back? They can never be too sure.
“So, who are they?”, asked Leo.
He was pretty curious about them. From what they could gather the performers were very good, if the crowds they gathers were anything to go by.
“They call themselves the Mad Dogs. Funnily enough they seem to be four color-coded brothers.”, April joked.
“That is so cool! What if we have fans?!”, yelled Mikey.
“Humans don’t even know about us, Mikey.”, said Donnie.
“I guess we could use a break.”, admitted Leo.
“You can’t be serious?!”, exclaimed Raph.
“What’s the harm? They’re street performers, we can just stay on a roof.”, said Leo. He was more careful usually, but the tension in the lair was too big to ignore. He can only hope that could help them get a little distraction before they return to finding whatever that energy was.
“They’ll perform two blocks from here in 2 hours.”, April said.
“Will you come with us?”, asked Donnie.
“Sorry, it’s Dad’s birthday and he wants to go out to eat. Have a normal night out with his daughter you know.”, she explained.
Donnie was a little disappointed, he may have gotten over his crush, but April was still his best friend.
“Maybe next time.”, April said before she left the lair again. She didn’t want to leave her Dad waiting. He deserved a break from the craziness. April did too.
Then it was finally time to head out. Mikey was really excited the whole time. Raph complained the whole time as well as Donnie. Raph because he thought it was a stupid idea and Donnie because Leo made him leave the energy reading device in the lair. This was supposed to be a break for all of them. Leo tried to keep his cool but he was probably as excited as Mikey. This was their first concert – kind of. Leo always thought concerts looked really cool in TV.
When they got to the roof just above the place for the performance they noticed no one on the makeshift stage that had been put up. It was just a small plateau but everyone was gathered around it, waiting for the Mad Dogs.
“I’m telling you, it’s stupid.”, complained Raph.
“Maybe it won’t-“, Leo was cut off by Mikey.
“Dudes! It’s starting!”
The four brothers, even Raph, looked closer to the stage. The music had begun to play but there was still no one on the stage.
Suddenly the street lights turned off and someone began to sing.
After the blackout, there was darkness in the streets
The only light for miles and miles shined artificially
It looks like tech this time, no way to mask the lack of spine
Don't mess with Ninjago, 'cause we'll get you every time
(Get you every time)
Just one street light off to the side turned on again, a young man, maybe in his late teens, was seen. His clothes dark but the purple bandana around his arm stood out. Donnie was drawn towards him. Something about him felt other worldly. Maybe it was the odd purple make up around his eyes or his oddly vibrant eyes. Donnie wasn’t quite sure.
After his lines were sung, the street light above him turned off and a different one turned on. Someone who looked early similar to the first one was standing and singing. They were brothers, that much was certain. Leo had to admit the man looked really cool. He wore a bright blue scarf, the color seemed almost too bright. His eyes were just as bright as the first guys but the make-up were around his eyes were red crescent moons. Leo felt the urge to ask Karai for her red eyeliner just to copy him, maybe it would look cool against his green scales.
Just as he was finished his light turned off as well. Leaving everyone in the dark again.
(Hey!) Then the lights came on
Brighter than ever before
Can you see them shine?
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
Won't let them fade
This city's meant for much more
Gonna hear us shout
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
The lights around the stage turned on and the two brothers were on the stage singing, but two more voices were singing with them. The remaining two members. They had to be hidden around here somewhere too. They couldn’t help but wonder what they would look like and what their color was.
Stop! Go!
Ninja, go!
Light up!
Ninja, go!
Again, everything turned dark. Not even the stage was lit.
After the blackout, I could finally see
I knew the day would come when I would defend my home city
It looks like now's the time that we should stand up for the fight
This blackout's over and I'm ready for the light
When the next street light turned on again a third guy appeared. He looked younger than the other two, maybe by a year. Mikey was fixated on just how colorful he was. Not only did he have a vibrant orange bow in his hair, he also had multiple colorful beads in his braided hair. His yellow spots stood out, especially against his bright magenta eyes. Mikey just knew he was fun from looking at him! Maybe he should get some more colorful stuff too! He was a ninja sure, but it looked so cool!
When the light above him turned off again and the next one turned on Raph was suddenly paying attention to the show.
The next guy was big and was clearly older than the rest. Raph already had to admit that the beat was good, but seeing a guy like that? That sold Raph, that he wore a red duraq was a nice bonus. Red was obviously the best color, no matter if you’re a ninja or a singer. The guy looked like he could give Dogpound a run for his money and Raph wanted to know his workout routine!
Then the light turned off once again.
(Hey!) Then the lights came on
Brighter than ever before
Can you see them shine?
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
Won't let them fade
This city's meant for much more
Gonna hear us shout
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
Just as everyone had expected the stage was lit again. This time all four brothers were on stage. They could only now really see just how much bigger the guy in red was compared to his brothers.
Stop! Go!
Ninja, go!
Light up!
Ninja, go!
At first they thought they were imagining it, but the performers were really singing Ninja. They knew there were only singing about the concept of a ninja, not about the actual ones standing on a roof watching them sing. But it almost felt like they were singing about them – maybe even thanking them in an odd way. It felt nice regardless.
After the blackout
After the blackout
After the blackout
After the blackout
I am ready for the light!
The street lights around them flickered on and off after every brother had sung a line, just to turn off again to only leave the stage lit.
(Hey!) Then the lights came on
Brighter than ever before
Can you see them shine?
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
Won't let them fade
This city's meant for much more
Gonna hear us shout
Go ninja! Go, go ninja!
The crowd was singing along now, so were the four turtles on the roof. As they reached the end the stage lights turned off one final time, leaving everything dark with the only source of light around them being the full moon above them.
Stop! Go!
Ninja, go!
Light up!
Ninja, go!
The street lights were on for good but the performers were gone. Not a trace of them left.
“That was amazing!”, yelled Mikey.
“Did you see those light effects?! How did they turn of the street lights like that?!”, exclaimed Donnie.
“Forget the lights! Did you see the big guy?!”, Raph was much more excited than before.
“Not such a stupid idea now, huh?”, teased Leo.
Raph shoved his brother lightly.
Leo was sure, this break had helped them wonders. The atmosphere in the lair was far lighter than before the left. It felt like home again.
Despite Leo’s request to not check the device, Donnie did it anyway. Just to be sure.
There had been a slight spike of energy. But the map showed the same area they had been watching the performers. There was nothing that weird. Maybe his device was a bit cracked and picked up on the light show at the concert. He’d check that tomorrow. Now he had to research the Mad Dogs! Maybe he could find out how that light show worked!
“They were there today, right?”, asked Aka.
“Duh.”, said Ao, “They had to show up eventually!”
“They were on a roof!”, added Orenji.
“They were the ones on my theory board.”, said Murasaki.
“You mean your creepy conspiracy board?!”, teased Ao.
Ao’s face was met with a pillow. Everyone knew how threw it at him.
Notes:
Thank you all for your suggestions I either chose a song you suggested or it gave me an idea what the use. If I don’t end up using a song you suggested don’t be disappointed. I can only do so much.
You might have seen it already but I drew something over on tumblr for this.
Chapter 3: The Place to Be // 2-12
Chapter Text
Only a few days after the four brothers first saw the performers, the Mad Dogs. They quit literally went on a deep dive to find out everything they could about them. And with Donnie at their side, they found out more than anyone else!
“Look! They have two more songs out!”, said Mikey excitedly.
“What are they called?”, asked Leo.
“Soda Pop and Your Idol. I like Soda Pop more!”
“Your Idol is way better.”, argued Raph.
Despite the Mad Dogs only having only three songs released currently, all three were on loop. Splinter, April as well as Casey were a little worried with how obsessed the four seemed to be. Though they had to admit the songs were good, even Splinter liked them. He preferred the upbeat sound of Soda Pop to the other two.
Inside Donnie’s lab they had put up a whiteboard. They were collecting everything they knew about the Mad Dogs. Leo found their names online and wrote them underneath the group photo Raph had found.
“They’re named after our colors!”, said Mikey amazed.
“It’s likely those are stage names but fitting nonetheless.”, added Donnie before he returned to face his computer.
“Doesn’t matter, the big guy’s name is Aka! RED! Can he get better!?”
“I knew you had a favorite!”, yelled Mikey. Raph had been refusing he even liked them until a few hours ago, not that any of his brother bought his act. He was too invested in their research not be a fan as well.
Leo couldn’t help but notice a few details in the four performers. If Donnie’s research was correct, it usually was, they were brothers too. All four of them. Not quadruplets like them but close in age. Something about four color-coded brothers just made Leo like them more. His brothers were the same. That made them relatable to the mutants.
“YES!”, yelled Donnie.
The genius got his brothers full attention.
“What did you find?”, asked Leo.
“I tried to find if there’s any records of unreleased songs. And I think I found the full album! A whole fourteen tracks!”
“Fourteen!?”, yelled Raph.
“That’s like a whole – one, two, three,… - eleven. That’s eleven more songs!”, said Mikey, “I need them, Dee! I need them now!”
“Can we hear them, Donnie?”, asked Leo. He tried to sound calm but he was just as excited as his brothers.
“Of cour – NO!”, he yelled. His fingers tipped rapidly on the keyboard before he let his head drop in defeat.
“What happened?”, asked Mikey.
“I got kicked out of the account! They found out and kicked me out! I can’t even get in anymore!”
“Why is Donnie cackling like a maniac?”, asked Ao his eldest brother.
“No clue.”, Aka said.
“Something about a second-class genius. Maybe the other Dee?”, Orenji suggested.
Their brother in purple was both furious and impressed that his counterpart had broken into his network. Of course, it had to be another Donatello, no one else could be smart enough, but how dare he break his stuff!
Still stuck in the lab, piecing everything they could about the Mad Dogs, the four brothers were surprised by an alarm going off.
“What is that?!”, yelled Raph as Donnie turned the noise off.
“I wanted to make sure we don’t miss when those energy readings spike again.”, Donnie explained.
As much as they wanted to keep doing their research, they knew they had a job to do. They geared up and left the lair. Hoping to finally find the source of those readings.
They wound up on a roof again, looking over the city. One street light was oddly… vibrant. Yes, vibrant was the right word. They had never seen anything that bright before. It was uncanny. Normally the people, the humans, never seemed to notice the weird things around them, but they did notice this. Many stopped in their tracks to take a look at the bright light.
“There’s another one!”, said Leo as he pointed to the other side of the street. As they took a closer look, they could see that one light was warm toned while other was cool toned, yet both seemed other worldly. Were they linked to their energy readings?
Before they could aske anymore questions, there was whistling, it was joined by music seconds later and then singing, all while the warm toned light got brighter.
We're the Daywalkers, we got the power of the sun
Here it's way hotter, won't take no shade from anyone
Check the show stopper, we make a fire all our own
Thanks to the lightstone
Underneath the warm toned light was a person. It was Orenji! They had found the Mad Dogs again! Mikey was looking at the orange themed brother with awe. It was like he was singing to the people in front of him. the coolest part was that Orenji did something and pulled out a small fire ball! Can that guy get any cooler?!
Number one status those sneaky vamps are gonna learn
Try to come at us, you're gonna go home with a burn
Out of nowhere Aka appeared singing alongside his brother. The second Raph spotted him, he was as invested as Mikey. The big guy seemed even more impressive than the first time around! Maybe it was because his lines were more provocative at something. Raph hoped he could see more of that!
We're the real baddest with all our solar-powered flare
It's almost unfair
Lucky you
For stumbling through
They were really singing to the crowd more than for the crowd, like they were trying to convince them of something. At convinced they were.
Welcome to the light side, light side
It's better on the bright side, bright side
You know, we're the most unforgettable
You'll ever see (Woah)
Want incredible?
This is the place to be
And convince them they did! Not only were Aka and Orenji dancing but everyone else too! It made the brothers wonder if this was all staged. But for who? There was no one else. No one to sing for other than the people now dancing. It was clear that they had a way with people.
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
This is the place to be
The warm toned light dimmed slightly only for the cool toned one to become even brighter than before.
We're the vampires, we come out underneath the moon
Never get tired of lookin' effortlessly cool
Soarin' way higher, tellin' the wind which way to go
Thanks to the darkstone
As Ao began singing, all of Leo’s attention was on him. Much like Orenji he was singing to the crowd, rather than for them. Ao looked like he was in his element when addressing the people. Like he was meant to talk to them. It came so natural to him, even Aka and Orenji didn’t seem this much in their element as they sang.
Fear the Daywalkers, 'cause that's what vamps have always done
Lyin' smooth talkers
They play with fire just for fun
As Murasaki joined to convince the crowd, he seemed to use a more logical approach then his brothers. Donnie could appreciate that. As cool as Orenji pulling out a fireball was, it was also incredibly dangerous, if that was even a real fireball.
Hey, if they offer, maybe someday we'll all be friends
Okay, we won't then
Lucky you
For stumbling through
Donnie and Leo had to admit, seeing the brothers, twins as they had found out only a few hours ago, was funny. It was enjoyable to see the sibling dynamics translate to their song. It made them feel more like real siblings.
Welcome to the night side, night side
The we'll be takin' flight side, flight side
You know, we're the most unforgettable
You'll ever see (Woah)
Want incredible?
This is the place to be
Much like the other two before them, they got everyone to join in their dancing. It looked really cool to see a large crowd dance together.
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
This is the place to be
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
This is the place to be
The cool toned street light dimmed again but instead of the warm toned one turning on again a single street light between the two got brighter.
At last I'll see the outside
A shame it's only tonight
Would any change be so bad
Does anybody understand?
They hadn’t expected a slower part in the song. They hadn’t yet released anything that had a slower part in it. But it was nice too. Maybe there would be more songs like that. Leo did prefer the catchier bits. His brothers would agree.
There's life beyond the old fears
A song my people don't hear
I see a future, they can't
Does anybody understand?
Ao took a step back and gave Orenji place to take the stage and sing his own part. Something about the lines both Ao and Orenji sang clicked with the turtles. They were so excited to go topside, afraid it would only be for one single night. They wondered if change from their old life was bad. That there was a life beyond their father’s fears, something Splinter had needed to find out.
Does anybody understand?
Does anybody understand?
Ao joined his brother in the light again as they sang but the four brothers still wondered. Could anybody ever understand them? Likely not, unless they met more of their counterparts, those guys from the 80s didn’t seem to understand that pressure. The pressure of having to hide from the world.
Welcome to the light side, light side (Welcome to the night side, night side)
It's better on the bright side, bright side (The we'll be takin' flight side, flight side)
The two brothers ran out form the light towards the dark and came back with their missing brothers to dance again.
You know, we're the most unforgettable
You'll ever see (Woah)
Want incredible?
This is the place to be
The whole crowd was following their dancing again. The dance seemed more complete now. With all four brothers at the center of it all. It was like that’s where they belonged.
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
This is the place to be
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na
This is the place to be
When the song had ended the brothers cheered as well as the crowd. Just then they noticed the drone flying past them and towards Murasaki. If Donnie was drooly a little over the tech, his brothers ignored it.
“The readings!”, yelled Donnie, “We forgot out the readings!”
He frantically pulled out the device only to see the readings had gone down again. Since the first read they had there had always been a faint energy but never anything strong. The only- Oh.
“We need to go to the lair, I might have an idea.”, Donnie said as he headed towards the lair, his brothers followed suit.
Once they were back home, Donnie rushed to his lab and began to look at the back log off all the readings.
“Leo, when was the first appearance of the Mad Dogs?”
“Uhh- on the fifth.”
“Two days after the first reading.”
“What are you saying?”, asked Raph.
“I’m saying that the Mad Dogs are responsible for those readings!”
“They’re magic?!”, Mikey yelled, “I knew it.”
“Magic doesn’t exist Mikey.”, Donnie corrected.
“You don’t know that!”
“Yes, I do!”
“Donnie?”, Leo chimed in, “Should that be this low?”
Donnie turned to look at the chart. The reading chart.
“No. It’s never been this low, not since it first appeared…”
“What now?”, asked Raph.
“We listen to more magic music?”, suggested Mikey.
“It’s not magic!”, yelled Donnie.
“Ready for our next stop, boys?”, asked Ao.
“Do we have to leave already?”, asked Orenji.
“Yes, Angelo. If we want to keep up with our schedule.”, said Murasaki.
“Where are we off to next, Donnie?”, asked Aka as he got the rest of their bags.
“Realm 2-03.”
Notes:
I’ve been listening to all the songs I put in here on repeat. I even made a Playlist for them. 😬
Chapter 4: Golden // 2-03
Chapter Text
“My little Soda Pop~”
“Can you stop? You’ve been singing that for the last week!”, Raph yelled as he chucked a pillow at Mikey.
“But it’s catchy!”, Mikey dodged the pillow only for Raph to throw another and hit him. “Oof-“
“It is catchy.”, added Leo.
“Not you too, man!”, groaned Raph.
“It’s not surprising, Soda Pop has hit the Top 100 in less than two days.”, said Donnie.
“That’s ‘cause the Mad Dogs are amazing!”, yelled Mikey excited.
“They’re not that good.”, said Raph.
Mikey clutched his chest and gasped dramatically. “The Mad Dogs are the best!”
Somehow, none of them were really sure how or why, they found themselves seated on the couch as Mikey pulled up a Power Point presentation. Mikey was more invested in the Mad Dogs than any of them had initially thought.
“First we have Aka, the leader, he’s the oldest and an absolute teddy bear.”
Raph hated it, but he had to admit that guys stature was impressive. He needs that guy’s workout routine, even if he was a stupid popstar.
“Then there’s Murasaki, he’s one of the middle children, the older twin brother. He’s sassy and really into tech.”
Donnie was more focused in the gadget in the guy’s hand. It wasn’t like anything he had ever seen. It was so thin and it had a bright screen but no buttons. How would one even operate that?
“Then we have Ao, he’s the other middle child, the younger twin. He calls himself the face man and he loves talking to the crowd.”
There was something about Ao that drew Leo in. Like he knew Ao from somewhere. Something seemed so familiar, Leo just couldn’t put his finger on it.
“And then there’s my favorite, the best one, Orenji, he’s the youngest and I just love the guy! He has the sickest of moves and the best lines and he wears orange!”
At this point Mikey was flapping his hands, one of his happy stims, and smiling brightly. Even if his brothers weren’t as invested as him they would listen to him because it made Mikey really happy. But that won’t stop Mikey from getting them invested! He knew just how to get them invested!
“That’s why we should go see them live!”, he added.
“We can’t Mikey.”, said Leo.
“How would we even get in? Look at us.”, said Raph.
“Given their popularity, wouldn’t tickets be sold out anyway?”, added Donnie.
“It’s outdoors! We can just sit on a roof!”, said Mikey.
“Still, it’s too risky.”, said Leo.
Mikey needed a new strategy, he didn’t want to pull his last resort, but they didn’t leave him any choice.
“Pleeeeaseee.”, Mikey looked at his older brothers with his best set of puppy dog eyes, he even crouched down a little to make himself smaller. His brothers were already taller than him, this just added to his cuteness factor.
“…”
“Pretty please.”
“…”
“Fine.”, Leo finally said.
“YES!”, Mikey jumped up and hugged Leo before he ran off to pack everything they needed for their very first concert.
“You say yes way too often to him.”, said Raph, Donnie nodded along.
“As if either of you could say no to him.”, said Leo.
“We aren’t the leader though.”, said Donnie.
As it was getting darker they finally reached the roof near the location. Given the Mad Dogs’ popularity it was no surprise to see the large crowd on the ground.
“This will be so good!”, Mikey yelled excitedly.
After a few more minutes the music began to play.
I was a ghost, I was alone
어두워진 앞길속에 (Hah)
Given the throne, I didn't know how to believe (Hah)
I was the queen that I'm meant to be (Ah)
I lived two lives, tried to play both sides
But I couldn't find my own place (Oh, oh)
Called a problem child 'cause I got too wild
But now that's how I'm getting paid, 끝없이 on stage
Donnie didn’t quite understand how just two lines spoke to him that quickly. Maybe it was his time in that other reality. The one he doesn’t like to even think about.
Leo understood the pressure Aka was playing at. Being the leader was hard, being in charge of his brothers’ lives was hard. But that was something he was meant to be anyway.
Sometimes Mikey felt like that too, like he was caught between worlds. He wanted to have fun, but even if he tried to ignore he it, Mikey, as well as his brothers, saw a lot of bad things.
Problem Child? That was something Raph can relate to. He was too much sometimes, especially when his anger got the better of him, but much like Murasaki, Raph found his calling in it too.
With just a few lines the remaining three brothers were invested and Mikey knew his job was done here. His main goal achieved all while hearing a new amating song!
I'm done hidin', now I'm shinin'
Like I'm born to be
We dreamin' hard, we came so far
Now I believe
There was a familiar feeling rising through the four turtles. Something they had a hard time feeling again after everything, The familiar surge of their mystical abilities. The ones they had believed were gone. Instead of focusing on their retuning powers, they were humming along to the song. Almost fully ignoring the familiar tingle in their chests.
We're goin' up, up, up
It's our moment
You know together we're glowin'
Gonna be, gonna be golden
Oh, up, up, up
With our voices
영원히 깨질 수 없는
Gonna be, gonna be golden
Despite not knowing the lyrics the four brothers, as well as everyone down in the crowd was singing along. It somehow came so easy to them. Like they knew the lyrics deep down all along. Like this wasn’t the first time they heard it.
Oh, I'm done hidin', now I'm shinin'
Like I'm born to be
Oh, our time, no fears, no lies
That's who we're born to be
Waited so long to break these walls down
To wake up and feel like me
Put these patterns all in the past nowv
And finally live like the boy they all see
First Donnie’s old tribunal marking gleamed I slightly in the light, closely followed by Leo, then Raph and lastly Mikey. For just a second they were entranced by the markings returning. The light was faint, much fainter than they had originally been. That same energy started to flow through them again.
No more hiding, I'll be shining
Like I'm born to be
'Cause we are hunters, voices strong
And I know I believe
We're goin' up, up, up
It's our moment
You know together we're glowing
Gonna be, gonna be golden
Oh, up, up, up
With our voices
영원히 깨질 수 없는
Gonna be, gonna be golden
With each line the markings grew more vibrant. Not brighter, they were still rather faint and subtle even if the colors grew more vibrant. The turtles attention was slowly pulled from the music and towards their markings. Why were they back and why did they start to feel different? It was like back then, but at the same time it wasn’t.
Oh, I'm done hidin', now I'm shining
Like I'm born to be
Oh, our time, no fears, no lies
That's who we're born to be
You know we're gonna be, gonna be golden (Oh)
We're gonna be, gonna be (Oh)
Born to be, born to be glowin' (Oh)
밝게 빛나는 우리
You know that it's our time, no fears, no lies (Oh, oh)
That's who we're born to be
The markings dimmed, losing all its color until they were gone once again. All that was left was the faint feeling of mystical energy inside them.
“What just happened?”, asked Leo.
“I – I don’t know.”, said Donnie.
“Whatever it was, it was so cool! Did you see us?! We were glowing again!”, yelled Mikey.
After they had transformed into dragons to fight the Tengu Shredder, their mystical powers had begun to fade. Apparently they had used so much that they either couldn’t be replenished or would take years, decades maybe to fully regenerate. None of them had expected their powers, their chi, to ever fully return, but maybe there was a way after all, if only they could figure out what had just happened.
They headed off to the lair, as much as they wanted to stay, they needed to know why their powers had return. Even if they only returned temporary.
Once they were in the lair again, the four were seated in Donnie’s lab. Raph was forced onto the examination table. Leo had forbidden Mikey from being Donnie’s test subject and Raph was easy to convince after Donnie promised to add a few weapons to his bike.
“This doesn’t make any sense! Our powers were as good as gone after we transformed into dragons.”, Donnie complained as he ran some test of Raph.
“But we felt them return.”, Leo added.
“Can we turn into dragons again?!”, Mikey asked.
“No – I don’t think so, at least not yet.”, Donnie explained.
“When are you done? I don’t like being your guinea pig.”, Raph complained.
“Only a few more minutes, Raphie.”
True to his word, Donnie was done a few minutes later and Raph was allowed to get off the table. Donnie looked at the collected data and mumbled a few things. None of which his brothers understood.
“Our power levels are down again, almost as little as before we left the lair.”, Donnie said, “It’s like the song was giving us power.”
“You mean the Mad Dogs did this?!”, Mikey yelled excited, “They’re making magical music!”
“That’s stupid, Mikey.”, said Raph.
“There’s a different reason for it, right Donnie?”, Leo asked.
“I hate to admit it, but Mikey might be on to something.”
“WHAT?!”, the other three yelled.
“While you were hocked up, I looked at my scanners-“
“You have scanners for that?”, asked Leo.
“Don’t worry about it. Anyway, there was a general spike in mystical energy while the Mad Dogs were performing. I’ll have to look into that more to be sure if that’s just a coincidence or if they are really behind our powers coming back.”
“We may or may not have an issue.”, said Murasaki.
“Issue?”, asked Orenji as he set down the food he made.
“As you know, I like sending out SHELLDON for footage and he caught out counterparts and I believe we messed with their powers.”
“They have powers too?”, asked Ao, suddenly much more invested than before.
“That or they have other means of causing a light show in their scales.”
“Should we be worried about that?”, asked Aka.
“I don’t think so, not yet at least. I’ll keep an eye on it.”
Notes:
I honestly don't remember how the powers in season 5 worked... I didn't feel like rewatching it for this sooo- let's just pretend it works like this. 🤫
Chapter 5: RISE // 2-03
Chapter Text
It’s been a few days since their powers had been activated during a concert of all things. They hadn’t had the opportunity to talk to their father yet. He was visiting the Daimyo and none of the turtles wanted to bother him on his well-deserved break. Because of that the four brothers were currently alone in the lair. Something about keeping an eye on the Mad Dogs and Donnie, who was still buried in his research about the whole ordeal.
“Guys!”, Donnie yelled as he ran into the common area.
“You got something?!”, asked Mikey as all of them rushed to their genius brother.
“I did!”
Seconds later they found themselves in the lab, looking at whatever Donnie had found.
“What are we even lookin’ at?”, asked Raph.
Donnie showed them a graph.
“This graph is a recording of every spike in mystic since the Mad Dogs first appeared. Every single spike correlates with one of their concerts!”
“So, their music is magic!”, yelled Mikey.
“In simple terms, yes. I even ran all their songs through the software and all of their songs are laced in chi! Especially Soda Pop and Your Idol.”, explained Donnie.
“Then they are really behind our powers coming back?”, asked Leo.
“It’s likely a side effect of it all, but yes.”
“Can you find out where the next concert is?”, asked Leo.
“We’re going to another concert?”, asked Mikey excited.
“Only to talk to them.”
“You want to see them perform again.”, teased Raph.
“Don’t we all?”, joked Donnie as he got to work.
It didn’t take Donnie long to find the location they would perform later today. They had a few more hours to just relax before they went out.
While they would enjoy seeing the Mad Dogs perform again, they all know they would mainly go to observe them more. To maybe find out why chi was lazing their music. What was their goal?
Leo would never admit it, but he was likely as invested in the band as Mikey was. Could you blame him though? As he learned more about the four brothers through Mikey’s rambles, he grew to relate to them more, especially Ao and Aka. There was just something about Ao he found comforting, Leo couldn’t quite place his finger in it. While Ao was comforting, Aka was relatable. Aka, much like Leo, was the eldest and the leader. The person in charge of his brothers. Sure, an idols life was different from a ninja but an older brother will always be an older brother.
Much like Leo, Raph had unwillingly learned more about the band. He understood why he like the big guy. Aka was massive and everything about him was just impressive. Raph wanted to fight him, only if he knew how, it would be no fun if he didn’t. But what confused him was that he found himself relating to Murasaki, the nerd. Raph relating to a nerd? Unheard of. But that nerd was full of anger and snark, something Raph knew all too well.
When Donnie got invested in something, he had to know everything as soon as possible. If he didn’t sleep for two days straight to know everything he could about the bad, that’s his problem and not his brothers. In his deep dive, he found himself drawn to Murasaki and Orenji the most. Murasaki was a genius and didn’t hide his intellect. Donnie could relate to the anger, even if Murasaki’s way of expressing is was more similar to Raph than Donnie. But that’s were Orenji came in. The youngest member could easily be triggered, but compared to his more explosive brother he tried to stay calm until he blew. It happened once when people kept calling him little or tiny. Donnie tended to let the anger eat at him until it was too much too.
Mikey already knew he loved these guys but the more he found out about them the more he grew to have favorites. Orenji and Ao. Orenji was the kind of guy Mikey could vibe with. He was energetic and a lot of fun! Mikey just knew they could be the best of friends! But then there was Ao, the middle child that Mikey knew he would click with! Ao called himself the face man and Mikey figured that fit him too. After all he was the most handsome turtle and the battle nexus champion! He should be the face man of their team!
The brothers won’t admit it, expect for Mikey, that they were maybe a little too invested in a band they had seen once. Even if they all had listened to their songs on repeat.
Eventually it was time to leave the lair for the concert. It was in the Central Park. A nice location for the four turtles, they could easily hide in the trees close to the stage.
They got there earlier than anyone else, the four idols were still setting up.
“I knew Aka could lift but – wow.”, Raph said. Aka was single handedly lifting the giant speakers. It was as if those speakers were just a few boxes of feathers.
“Look at all that stuff.”, Donnie was practically drooling, everything looked so much higher quality than anything he had ever seen. Especially that pad Murasaki had in his hands.
“I didn’t expect them to be this agile.”, admitted Leo. His gaze focused on Ao, who was moving a little too fast for a human. It almost looked like he was teleporting, almost.
“Can you guy’s smell that?”, asked Mikey, “I need to try that!” Orenji had just walked in with what looked like a few bowls of homemade ramen. Which he and his brothers enjoyed on the stage just before the first fans started to show up.
The concert started great! They had secretly hoped for a new song or two. But sadly, that wasn’t quite the case. Just as the turtles got ready to head home, Leo spotted something in the distance.
“Is that a person?”, asked Mikey, “Why are they standing like that?”
“No person stands like that. It’s almost animalistic.”, said Donnie.
“A rough mutant?”, suggested Raph.
“Let’s check it out.”, ordered Leo.
Only a few feet from the thing they noticed it was lacking something important.
“Where is his face, dude?!”, yelled Mikey.
Before anyone could even try to answer the turtle in orange the thing charged at them and Leo managed to cut it down. Instead of falling to the ground it disagreed.
“That’s weird.”, said Leo.
“Guys.”, said Mikey.
“What was that?”, asked Raph.
“Guys.”
“Some sort of-“, Donnie was cut off.
“GUYS!”, yelled Mikey, “There’s more!”
Behind them stood more, many more, of these things.
They got ready to fight but they didn’t expect the music to start up again. An encore, now? And a new song to? Damn turtle luck!
Welcome to the wild, no heroes and villains
Welcome to the war we've only begun, so
Pick up your weapon and face it
There's blood on the crown; go and take it
You get one shot to make it out alive, so
Mikey felt the surge of chi return to his body. Like Orenji was fueling his chi as he sang. His old tribunal markings slowly coming back to decorate his scales. Suddenly he had a much easier time handling these things.
As Murasaki took over Donnie felt the same power running though his veins. When he needed a few strikes to take down these beings before, it only took one to take them down now. His markings even came back to live.
Higher and higher you chase it
It's deep in your bones; go and take it
This is your moment, now is your time, so
Donnie and Mikey moved together as the two idols sang together. Their chi even moved as one as their markings illuminated them.
Prove yourself and
Rise, rise
Make 'em remember you
Rise
Push through hell and
Rise, rise
They will remember you
Rise
While Donnie and Mikey were only fueled more, Raph and Leo were just starting to fell that power within them again.
Welcome to the climb up, reach for the summit
Visions pray that one false step lead the end, so
Leo’s marking returned with a snap the second Ao was singing. His chi was running freely through him, like it was finally allowed to move again.
Raph felt the chi inside him bubble up with each line of the song, like it was just waiting to burst. Just as Aka took over Raph punched on of these things in their nonexistent face and his tribunal marks came back brighter than ever.
Higher and higher you chase it
It's deep in your blood; go and take it
This is your moment, take to the skies, go
Much like the other two, their chi started to move in sync as they fought more and more of these things.
Prove yourself and
Rise, rise
Make 'em remember you
Rise
Push through hell and
Rise, rise
They will remember you
Rise
All four turtles were now moving together. Their chi moving as one and their markings growing more vibrant with each line sung.
So get along, so get along, go
Get along-long get a move on up
So get along, so get along, go
Get along-long get a move on up
And as you fight among the death beneath the dirt
(So get along, so get along, go
Get along-long get a move on up)
Well, do you know yet?
(So get along, so get along, go)
Well, do you want it?
(Get along-long get a move on up)
And when the giants call to ask you what you're worth
(So get along, so get along, go
Get along-long get a move on up)
Do you know if?
(So get along, so get along, go)
Win or die, you'll
(Get along-long—)
Finally, the numbers were starting to dwindle. There was finally an end in sight.
Prove yourself and
Rise, rise
Make 'em remember you
Rise
Push through hell and
Rise, rise
They will remember you
Rise
Prove yourself and
Rise, rise
(Pick up your weapon and face it)
Rise
(It's deep in your blood, go and take it)
Rise, rise
(Higher and higher you chase it)
Rise
(So get along, so get along, go)
Rise, rise
As the song finished, so did the turtles. There were no more things to fight. The turtles bolted towards the seers before a human could even spot them after their attention was no longer in the idols.
Back in the lair they fell into their couch, exhausted from all of that. It wasn’t even that hard, there were just so many.
“They helped us.”, said Mikey.
“The Mad Dogs?”, asked Raph.
“Yeah, they helped us!”
“They did give us a boost.”, admitted Leo.
“Pretty sure they also distracted the crowd.”, said Donnie.
“We need to talk to them.”, said Leo. He tried to stand up but exhausting caught up to him and he fell back on the couch. “Tomorrow.”
Little did they know, tomorrow would be too late.
“Those were Akuma, right?”, asked Orenji as they finally got away from the crowd.
“Defiantly. But why are they here? They’re native to our realm.”, said Murasaki.
“Maybe they have Akuma here too?”, suggested Ao.
“Negative. Those were our Akuma.”, said Murasaki.
“What do we do now?”, asked Aka.
“Maybe we can seal them? Like how they’re sealed back home!”, suggested Orenji.
“We’d need a spiritual place for that.”, said Aka.
“Like a temple?”, said Ao.
“That’s it!”, yelled Murasaki, “Since the Akuma are from our world, they’re likely following us and I know the perfect place to seal a few demons away.”
“Is it another realm?”, asked Ao.
“Of course, it is!”
Notes:
I like to think Rise Leo is what every Leo would be if they didn't have the pressure of being the oldest and the leader from the start. Rise Leo had the chance to be a dumb kid, the others didn't as much. He had a big brother to back him, they didn't. Maybe the other Leos would be a little jealous of Rise Leo for that.
Also, can you guess the next stop?

Chapter Text
It had been only a few weeks since they beat the Generals and send those monster’s home. A few weeks since Leo finally came home. Despite their great teamwork to beat the Generals, they still had a little adjusting to do.
Donnie and Mikey finally quit their jobs, the extra money was nice and it kept them occupied, but they hated these jobs. And now with them taking up semi regular patrol again as well as their training, they didn’t have time for jobs. Especially not after that warning Karai gave them. What if the Shredder really was back. None of them wanted of imagine that.
When time for patrol finally came around, the four brothers stood on a roof near their home. Most nights Casey, and sometimes April, would join them, but not today. They had a date planned for their anniversary.
“What’s the plan, Leo?”, asked Donnie.
“We split up and look for anything suspicious. Donnie, you’re with me. Mikey, Raph, you two go together. And Raph – don’t throw Mikey of the building.”
“No promises, he ate the last slice.”
“Dude, that was two days ago!”
“No promises.
Despite their bickering the two left to scout their designated area. Donnie and Leo went the other direction.
“There’s nothing here!”, complained Raph, “We’ve been out here for an hour! And still nothing!”
“Isn’t that a good thing?”, asked Mikey as he hang off the water tower.
“Not if I want to beat something up!”
As if on cue, music started to play.
Mm
Only a few streets down they saw two young men singing in front of a crowd.
Never gets old no matter how much I'm told
I'm amazin', you're amazin'
Hard to get tired when I'm always on fire
I'm blazin', ooh, you're blazin'
The focus was no the smaller and clearly younger male. The older gave the backup vocals.
Mikey loved his energy, not to mention his style! Mikey had never seen someone that was this colorful! And he was wearing a lot of orange too! The confidence he gave off was great too! His confidence was clear in every step he took, in every word he sang.
While Mikey was focused on the shorter one, Raph was amazed by the taller one. He didn’t have many lines but his voice was as powerful as he looked. Raph needed to know how much this guy can bench!
All my greatness
It doesn't come for free (Yeah)
All my talent
It doesn't grow on trees
Take a breather (Ooh)
Then take it all away
If the top is where you wanna stay
Their voices worked together seamlessly. It was a catchy song, it had both brothers humming along to it.
You gotta work hard (Uh-huh)
To make it look it easy
You gotta live fast
To keep makin' that money (Ooh)
If you want to be as famous as me
You gotta work, you gotta work, you gotta work
Watch me work
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, ooh
Go ahead and watch me work
“Watch me work.”, Mikey sang along. Admittedly it was more yelling. He couldn’t hit the notes right.
“Watch me work.”, Raph sang along quietly.
Haters wanna be me or be with me
Yeah, they're f-f-frеakin', yeah, they're frеakin'
I just keep on workin', lurkin', smirkin'
When they think that I'm peakin', never peakin'
Finally, the big guy took over! Raph was never one to enjoy this kind of music, but something about a tough looking guy like that made him like it.
All my greatness
It doesn't come for free (Yeah)
All my talent
It doesn't grow on trees
Take a breather (Ooh)
Then take it all away
If the top is where you wanna stay
By now the brothers were humming along.
You gotta work hard
To make it look it easy
You gotta live fast
To keep makin' that money (Ooh)
If you want to be as famous as me
You gotta work, you gotta work, you gotta work
Watch me work
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, ooh
Go ahead and watch me work
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, ooh
Go ahead and watch me work
If the top is where you wanna stay
You gotta work hard
To make it look it easy (So easy)
You gotta live fast
To keep makin' that money (Ooh)
If you want to be as famous as me
You gotta work, you gotta work, you gotta work
Watch me work
By the end they weren’t even humming along, but singing along as well. If they could they’d listen to them more, but sadly Donnie called them, his voice a lot more excited than usual however. They couldn’t help but wonder why.
If Mikey and Raph sang and hummed that song on their way back to the lair, that was their secret to keep. For now, at least. Heaven knows Mikey can’t keep quiet for long.
“LEO! DONNIE! You won’t believe what we saw!”, yelled Mikey excited.
“A really good live performance?”, asked Leo.
“How did you know?”, asked Mikey.
“We saw one too.”, said Donnie, “It was amazing!”
“Ours too! I loved that song I need to know if they have more! Even Raph liked it!”
“He did?”, teased Leo.
“Duh! It was that good.”
“I can admit when I like a song.”, said Raph, “What about you, jungle boy?”
“It was good.”, Leo smiled.
“Only good? Leo you wanted to tried to sing along.”, said Donnie.
Mikey gasped. “You wanted to sing! Donnie I need to hear that song!”
“Agreed what kind of song can make this guy sing along?”, joked Raph.
Turns out, the four performers were all part of the same band, the Mad Dogs. They had a few songs out already. To say the four brothers grew invested was an understatement. The songs the band had already released were amazing! There was one song however, Golden, that spoke to all of them a little more than others.
For the record, a top contender for first place was the song Leo and Donnie had listened to.
But just was the four brothers thought they could go to sleep; Donnie stopped his brothers.
“Guys? We need to head out again.”, he said, disappointment clear in his voice.
“What? WHY?!”, yelled Mikey. He was ready to listen to all the other songs they found from the Mad Dogs again.
“I left a few scanners at the destroyed portal, and now someone snuck in there.”, Donnie explained.
“Finally, some action!”, said Raph as he was already halfway out of the lair.
“Let’s go, guys!”, said Leo and the other three followed Raph.
Once they reached the destroyed portal, everything seemed fine, nothing was out of the ordinary. Not yet at least.
“Someone is watching us.”, said Leo. He couldn’t quite pin point where they were, but he knew someone was there and watching. If his gut feeling was right, it was someone strong. But as soon as those words left his mouth, the feeling of being watched was gone.
“You think the portal activated again?”, asked Mikey as he looked around.
“That’s impossible Mikey, the portal only activates every 3,000 years. It’s only been about a month since then.”, explained Donnie.
“We don’t get to smash any faces in?”, asked Raph.
“Not today, let’s go home.”, said Leo.
“Hold on.”, said Donnie as he slowly walked up to the portal, “Look at this.”
His brothers stepped closer and saw some kind if device attached to the portal. It looked like it come straight out of a sci-fi movie, if sci-fi tech was bright purple. Donnie carefully picked it up only to admire it more in his hand.
“Look at this craftsmanship! It’s beautiful!”
“Think you can find out who made it?”, asked Leo.
“Obviously. Who do you think I am?”
“Our IT guy.”, joked Raph.
Donnie glared at him. “See if I ever fix your stuff again, wanna-be hero.”
Leo smiled as he watched the two middle children bicker.
“What’s got you smilin’ like that?”, teased Mikey.
“Nothing. It’s just good to be home.”, Leo said.
“Well, it’s good to have you back.”, smiled Mikey, “ANYWAY- Last one home is a rotten pizza!” And he took off. Donnie and Raph right behind him, their argument already forgotten. Leo huffed a short laugh and followed them anyway.
Okay, maybe breaking into the temple, as Murasaki had called it wasn’t their best idea. It wasn’t even a temple! It was a big skyscraper. Sure, the portal thing was technically the temple but all of them had expected a legit temple. Then again Murasaki’s place feels
“Wow. There’s so much mystic here!”, said Orenji.
“Clearly, the portal is based in mystic after all.”, Murasaki explained as he attached his device.
“What’s that for anyway?”, asked Ao.
“I simply need to make sure my calculations are correct and if this truly is a portal to our home realm.”
“What do you think happened here?”, asked Aka, “Everything is busted.”
“An epic fight over a cool mystic portal?”, suggested Orenji jokingly.
“We need to hide.”, said Murasaki as he dragged Ao to hide, Aka following close behind after he picked up Orenji. They hid as four all too familiar turtles walked in.
“It’s-“, Orenji was cut off by Aka putting his hand over his mouth.
“Licking my hand won’t help you, Mike.”, Aka whispered, Orenji grumbled.
“Someone is watching us.”, said that Leo.
Ao took the imitative and summoned a portal. They really didn’t want to run into their counterparts now. The while akuma thing was their problem to solve. They could handle it.
Aka jumped in with Orenji still in his arms. Ao looked at his twin.
“Come on, Dee.”, he hissed.
“My scan isn’t finished.”
“Don’t care.”
Ao took his twins arm and dragged him into the portal.
On the other side, Murasaki hissed at his twin.
“I was almost finished!”
“And we almost got caught!”
“You’re lucky I can finished the – NO!”
“What’s wrong, Donnie?”, asked Orenji.
“Those stupid- they took it off! I couldn’t finish my scan!”
“But we know enough, right?”, asked Aka.
“Hopefully, I would prefer to know everything. But this will have to do.”
“What do know?”, asked Ao.
“In approximately one week, the portal should open and give us a great enough connection to our realm to send the akuma back.”, said Donnie. He was confident his calculations were correct, even if he rather double check everything.
“What do we need to send them home?”, asked Aka.
“For a spell sing we’d need a live audience.”, said Orenji.
“How are we gonna get a live audience to a place like that?!”, added Ao.
“Excited gasp!”, yelled Murasaki, “This is perfect!”
His brothers glanced over his shoulder.
“That’s very convenient.”, admitted Aka.
“That is called a plot contrivance, dear Raph-a-la.”, said Murasaki.

Who wants to tell Murasaki he's wrong? I don't. 🙃
Chapter 7: The Greatest Show // 2-07
Chapter Text
Still in that same night, well it was morning by now, Donnie was trying to crack into the device they had found. Just when he was about to find out just who might be behind it, the device started to blast a screeching noise. It woke everyone in the lair up – only to die completely. Nothing seemed to work anymore.
“What was that?!”, asked Raph as he ran in.
“The device we found.”
“Did you torture it, dude?”, asked Mikey,
“Did you at least figure out who it was?”, asked Leo.
“Urgh – no. I was close but then it screeched like a banshee and died on me.” Donnie slumped back into his chair.
“Dudes – did Splinter sleep through that whole thing?”, asked Mikey as he noticed the lack of their father.
“He can sleep thought the end of the world, Mikey.”, said Raph as he went to get himself a bowl of cereal. If he was awake at this ungodly hour he could at least have some sugary cereal.
Breakfast was weird. Almost as weird as it was when Leo first came back. They were on edge. If it was from last nights events or because of the screech that woke them up. Just as they were about to finish breakfast, Mikey was already getting up to do the dishes, it was his turn, Splinter walked in.
“Good morning, my sons.” They greeted him in return. He walked past them to watch his show. He was aware of his sons outing last night, but he trusted them enough that they could handle it.
Later that day the four brothers stood around the table; their father was meditating in the dojo.
“You didn’t get anything out of that thing?”, Leo asked.
“Other than this being amazing engineering? No.”, explained Donnie.
“Great- We got nothing on our new bad guys. What if the Foot are doing something again?”, asked Raph.
“But they know the portal won’t open for another 3,000 years.”, said Donnie.
“Maybe we just need to relax a bit, dudes.”, said Mikey.
“You just want to go out and find the Mad Dogs again.”, said Raph.
“Obviously.”
“No. We need to keep an eye at the portal. We’ll patrol the tower every night.”, said Leo with that authority he once used too often with his brothers. When he used it nowadays, it was taken much more seriously than before.
As they waited for night to roll around Donnie stumbled across an interesting article.
“Guys, check this out!”, he called his brothers. They swarmed around their genius brother.
“I found something about the restorations of the Winter Corps Tower.”, Donnie cleared his throat as he began to read out loud.
“After the mysterious death of Maximilian Winters, the new CEO of Winters Corp, John Bishop, decided to donate all of Mr. Winters’ private estate to be turned into a free to enter museum and nature park. Due to the sever damage sustained on the ground floor much of the tower has to be restored and changed. Mr. Bishop declined any payments for restoration after his donation, claiming the many historic artifacts would be enough to cover any costs. Thankfully a group of young activists decided to hold a fundraiser in the mostly in takt park attached to the estate. Many different acts and contributors have already offered their help in raising money.”
Donnie stopped reading.
“You think our guys are going to be involved?”, asked Leo.
“it seems very likely. This fundraiser seems too convenient.”, said Donnie.
“When is that fundraiser?”, asked Raph.
“In a week.”, said Donnie as he looked at some more information. “Huh- looks like the Mad Dogs will be performing too.”
“Now we have to go!”, said Mikey
“No, what if it’s still bright out?”, said Leo.
“It should be dark enough to go out. It’s in the evening.”, said Donnie.
“YES!”, exclaimed Mikey.
“Not helping, Donnie!”, hissed Leo.
“I’m not trying to.”
“We’re going to that fundraiser, Leo.”, said Raph.
Leo tried to talk them out of it for the rest of the day, but with each new piece of information they got about it, Leo grew more intrigued too. They had to keep an eye on the portal anyway, so why not. It was just one night.
The next week was spent observing the portal but nothing odd was happening. No one snuck onto property. Just some humans that were there to make sure the building wouldn’t collapse during the fundraiser and some people organizing it to take a look on what they actually needed for the day of.
When the night for the fundraiser finally rolled around, Mikey wasn’t the only full of excitement.
When they finally reached the park, only a few people where there. Most of them were helping set everything up. It took a few more minutes for the crowd to form while the turtles sat comfortably in one of the trees near the stage.
Then finally it started.
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Woah
Some people in the crowd started, likely placed by the Mad Dogs but the people around them easily joined in.
Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for
Woah
Been searchin' in the dark, your sweat soakin' through the floor
Woah
And buried in your bones, there's an ache that you can't ignore
Takin' your breath, stealin' your mind
And all that was real is left behind
Aka appeared in the stage, his clothes much more a fancy than when Raph and Mikey had first seen him. His bright eyes seemed to be glowing more than anything. Raph was drawn in more than he already was. Something in his gut felt odd, but he wanted to see more. His attention fully on Aka and nothing else.
Don't fight it, it's comin' for you, runnin' at ya
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after
Your fever dream, can't you see it gettin' closer?
Just surrender 'cause you feel the feelin' takin' over
Oh
It's fire, it's freedom, it's floodin' open
Oh
It's a preacher in the pulpit and your blind devotion
Oh
There's somethin' breakin' at the brick of every wall that's holdin'
Much like Aka, Murasaki stood on the stage, his shorter stature no less imposing compared to his elder brother. Donnie noticed that his eyes seemed brighter than before, like they were out of this world. Donnie caught that Murasaki’s eyes were blue and red when he first saw him, but the glasses made his eyes seem a bright glowing purple. That glow drew him more than anything else. His usually calculation mind, seemed to shut off even if only a little.
All that you know (Oh), so tell me, do you wanna go?
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are runnin' the night
Impossible comes true, it's takin' over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watchin' it come true, it's takin' over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
Woah
It was a surprise that Raph and Donnie hummed along when they didn’t even know the lyrics. Everyone in the crowd was sinning a long, as if they were part of the song. As if the lines were being fed into their brain.
Normally that would have thrown Leo and Mikey off, but the two were too invested in the performance. They weren’t in as deep as Donnie and Raph but they were close.
Colossal we come, these renegades in the ring
Woah
Where the lost get found and we crown 'em the circus kings
Don't fight it, it's comin' for you, runnin' at ya (Don't fight it, it's comin')
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after (It's only this moment)
It's blindin', outshinin' anything that you know (Shinin', shinin')
Just surrender 'cause you're comin' and you
Now it was Orenji’s turn in the center of the attention. The yellow make up and his magenta eyes shone brighter than anything in the dark. Mikey, much like everyone else watching was singing along. With every line the crowd sang, the crowd got louder. More and more people were joining in.
Wanna go
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are runnin' the night
Impossible comes true
Intoxicatin' you
Oh, this is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watchin' it come true
It's takin' over you
Oh, this is the greatest show (Hey, hey)
By now most people were singing along. Of the four turtles only Leo had remained quiet.
It's everything you ever want (Hey, hey)
t's everything you ever need (Hey, hey)
And it's here right in front of you (This is where you wanna be)
This is where you wanna be (Hey, hey)
It's everything you ever want (Hey, hey)
It's everything you ever need (Hey, hey)
And it's here right in front of you (This is what you want)
This is where you wanna be (Hey, hey, hey, hey)
But that was short-lived. The second Ao took over and his bright eyes and make-up caught Leo’s attention he was singing and humming along.
This is where you wanna be
That one line seemed to capture every last person in the crowd.
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are runnin' the night (Oh, oh, yeah)
Impossible comes true, it's takin' over you (Hee)
Oh
This is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now
Watchin' it come true, it's takin' over you
Everyone in the crowd was singing along. They were loud enough that they were almost louder than the Mad Dogs with their microphones.
This is the greatest show
Where it's covered in all the colored lights
Where the runaways are runnin' the night
Impossible comes true (Impossible)
It's takin' over you
Oh
This is the greatest show
We light it up, we won't come down
And the walls can't stop us now
Watchin' it come true, it's takin' over you
Oh, this is the greatest show
'Cause everything you want is right in front of you (Oh, this is the greatest show)
And you see the impossible is comin' true (Oh, yeah)
And the walls can't stop us now, yeah (Oh, this is the greatest show)
(Oh, this is the greatest show)
With everyone’s attention on the Mad Dogs, no one seemed to take too much notice of the light show behind them.
Oh, this is the greatest show
Oh, this is the greatest show
Oh, this is the greatest show
Oh, this is the greatest show (Oh, this is)
Oh, this is the greatest show (This is)
Oh, this is the greatest show (The greatest show)
Oh, this is the greatest show (This is the greatest)
Oh, this is the greatest show
“Hello, New York!”, yelled Aka.
“Thank you for coming to the fundraiser, if any of you want to leave any money to restore the park and building, we have a stall over there for any in person donations and just all the information you could need.”, explained Murasaki.
“We’ll be your hosts for the night and moderate everything.”, said Orenji.
“Now we still have some time to kill before the next act comes on. Does anyone have any suggestions for a song?”, asked Ao.
“GOLDEN!”, yelled a man from the crowd.
“Golden it is!”, said Ao and the song started to play.
“Hold on- was that Casey?”, asked Raph.
The four brothers looked closer and spotted their two human friends in the crowd. Casey was decked out in Mad Dogs merch, even April had a shirt.
“They have merch? I want a shirt like that.”, said Mikey.
They’d ask about that later, they should enjoy the performance for now.
Despite their original plan to watch the portal, none of the turtles noticed the figures roaming around the broken doors of the tower.
When they finally got home that night, after pestering Casey and April for some merch of course. They couldn’t help but notice splitting headache.
“That’s just weird.”, said Donnie as he popped in some painkillers.
“We did it, right?”, asked Orenji as they finished up.
“That should have sent the akuma back home.”, said Murasaki.
“Back to the depths where they belong!”, said Ao excitedly.
“We’re lucky it did. But no more brainwashing from now on.”, said Aka.
His brothers nodded in agreement. They didn’t want to use that again, but they had no choice, people needed to stay focused on them and not what was going in behind them near the portal, to them it was all just a light show.
Onto their next stop!

Chapter Text
After everything that had happened to them, of course the four brothers would keep up with portal. Especially now when Donnie had begun to pick up on weird energy readings on his scanners. Donnie had only put them up as a safety measure regarding the Kraang. There hadn’t been any weird things happening since the Krang, but on a normal Tuesday, the scanners picked up something new. Something that had never been there. Of course, they had started patrolling the city more carefully after that. Leo had even asked the police department to keep an eye open. Okay, he had asked Casey to keep an eye open as well as April.
Today was no different. Leo had sent Mikey and Raph of together while he stayed with Donnie.
“You sure this is the place?”, Leo asked his brother.
“I’m sure. This weird energy is getting stronger.”
“Good. Whatever it is, it can’t be good.”
The brothers arrived at a roof top when they were caught off guard by music playing in the streets. As much as they are ninja, they ‘re also curious teenagers. They walked closer to the edge of the building and looked down only to see what seems to be a fight between two people, brothers likely. Obviously it had to be staged, they wouldn’t be singing otherwise.
They decided to stay and watch the show presented to them.
How naive to still believe you'll get a happy ever after
A privileged little princess, a fairy-fail disaster
Spoken like a slacker, Saki, you're seeing someone else
I worked hard for every single trophy sitting on my shelf
You need help
You're a poser with a bad attitude
That's not true, you don't know the things that I've been through
Neither do you
Well, then tell me, little goody two-shoes
What do you think we should do?
Somehow the two turtles were reminded of a fight between Donnie and Raph, an argument only a pair of twins could have. Despite being quadruplets, Donnie and Raph had claimed the title of twins long ago.
“It’s like watching you and Raph.”, Leo joked.
“Rude. We make it more believable.”
I'll tell it to you straight to your face
There isn't any time left to waste
My kingdom back home needs to be saved
Give me the pocket watch or you're getting slayed
You best behave
Tell your pack of cards I'm coming back to cut their deck
I could beat your evil army in a millisec
I'll slice them up like cheddar
My mom won't have forever
The clock is ticking and it's time
That's why it's now or never
The one in blue charged at the other one with a face sword, an Odachi if Leo was seeing that right. The other blocked the blue one with a purple bo staff. They weren’t just performing, it was like they knew what they were doing, like they had actual training.
Leo could admit when he saw someone with potential. The blue one had a lot of it. His form was a little sloppy, but his agility made up for it. If Leo was only a little more like Raph, he’d want to spar with him.
I'm running out of hope, running out of time
I'll do what it takes just to change your mind
Or we'll cross swords, hope not to die
We're on opposite sides in the fight of our lives
There's no future in the past
We gotta move forward, not stay back
The moment is now, but it won't last
We're on opposite sides in the fight of our lives
Their fight came to a stop as the blue one stop his singing. Letting the purple one take over.
Use your brains
Going back will just cause more pain
We agree we gotta make a change
Defeat the Queen above everything
You're on my side or you're in my way
You wanna leave, but I got to stay
There's a reason we're here today
For past, present and future's sake, wait
More than fighting the purple one was trying to talk sense into the other one. Donnie could appreciate that approach. He tried to do that for his brothers more often than not. He may be a mad genius as Mikey liked to call him, but he was still trying to talk sense into his brothers.
Got too much at stake to go home (That's not true)
Guess I'm gonna do it on my own (I'm here too)
You're not gonna catch me if I fall (Maybe)
Got me runnin' on these walls
Dippin', flippin' somersaults (Stop)
'Bout to risk it all
As the purple one seemingly made his decision, the blue one tried to reach him. Leo was even more reminded of Donnie and Raph. Raph usually made a quick decision and Donnie tried to reason with him. Donnie on the other hand thought it seemed more like a Raph and Leo thing. Reasoning with Raph like that, seemed like a Leo thing.
I don't need your help 'cause the watch is mine
If you hear me out, then you'll change your mind
Let's not cross swords, hope not to die
'Cause we're on opposite sides in the fight of our lives
Change the future in the past
We gotta move forward where we're at
The moment is now, but it won't last
If we're on opposite sides in the fight of our lives
The two started their play fight again, this time it seemed even more real to Donnie and Leo. The humans on the street likely thought it was real at this point, but not to the two ninja on the roof. To them still didn’t look like an act anymore. IT looked like a serious spar. One where you get all your frustration out. One where someone could actually get hurt. The ones their father usually split up before someone got seriously hurt. Leo really hoped all this was just a really good act, even if his gut told him it wasn’t.
Let me ask you something
Why should I trust you?
Our mom just staged a violent coup
For all I know, you're gonna stab me in the back too
Think what you want to, boo
I'm nothing like our mom
Her power trip was way too strong, I knew that she was wrong
Well, maybe we'll get along, maybe we're not that different
Maybe we need each other to complete the same mission
I'm glad you put your pride aside to make the right decision
We'll work together until history is rewritten
Seeing them talk, well sing, was far better than seeing them fight. Donnie and Leo couldn’t help but smile at the two as they decided to fight together. Somehow they had grown invested in the little story the song was telling them.
(Oh) We might not be a team, but we gotta try
Did you change your heart or just change your mind?
So cross our swords, hope not to die
I'm kinda surprised, are we on the same side?
Change the future in the past
We gotta move forward where we're at
The moment is now, but it won't last
So we're on the same side in the fight of our lives
Instead of fighting they out away their weapons and started to parkour around the area, jumping around and clearly having more fun than before while singing together.
Fight of our lives
The fight of our lives
We're on the same side
As they finished the song, they jumped over a few more things and disappeared.
“That was really good.”, admitted Leo.
“It was! Now let’s – NO! NO! NO!”, said Donnie as he frantically began typing on his hologram.
“Donnie?”, Leo asked carefully.
“It’s a bust – All my hard work – gone.”
“Gone?”
“GONE! Nothing is working! Nothing!”
Leo knew it was no use trying to get Donnie to do anything about patrol now. It was useless when Donnie was like this. Leo still wondered how Donnie’s tech got fried in the three minutes they were listening to a song.
When they got back to the lair, Donnie headed straight to his computer, hoping to fix tech. As Donnie was all worked up in fixing his stuff, Raph and Mikey came home too.
“Donnie? Can you fix my phone? It broke-“, Mikey tried but he squealed as Donnie glared at him.
“What crawled up his shell?”, huffed Raph.
“His tech broke.”, said Leo.
Raph and Mikey cringed at that. Only the idea of a Donnie without his tech was scary. One that had to repair everything was a nightmare.
The three tiptoed around the lair, even Splinter did, as Donnie was fixing everything. Eventually Donnie walked up to his brothers, put their phones down on the table and collapsed in the couch next to Mikey. If he fell asleep then and there, his brothers stayed quiet a little longer.
Turns out almost every single piece of tech broke. Most things were destroyed beyond repair, Donnie had to admit he got lucky. He was able to fix his stuff within a day. April and Casey had even come down to ask Donnie for help. He managed to safe their phones, thank the firewall the installed. That’s why his tech lived. When Vern came after them and asked for help, Donnie had to tell him it’s not salvageable. Vern had gotten a new phone and refused to let Donnie put the firewall in it. Donnie didn’t say it but his brothers knew, he was a little pleased that happened. Who was Vern to not let Donnie take a look at his shiny new phone.
“Whatever that energy was, it has to be the reason everything got busted.”, said Leo.
“So back to finding that shit?”, asked Raph.
“I need to do a bit more coding on my scanners before we can head out. I can’t have my tech break again.”, said Donnie.
“Check this out!”, yelled Mikey.
His brothers turned to look at him. Mikey shoved his phone in their faces.
“Mad Dogs?”, asked Donnie.
“Oh, those the guys we saw?”, asked Raph.
“Duh! They have two more members! And the best part – they have our colors!”
Leo looked a little closer at the picture of the band and noticed two familiar faces.
“Isn’t that the two we saw, Donnie?”
“They are.”
“You saw the other two? You saw Murasaki and Ao?”
“Murasaki? Ao?”, asked Leo.
“Yeah their names! The other two are Orenji and Aka.”
“They really are color coded.”, joked Raph.
“Purple, Blue, Orange and Red.”, mused Leo.
“Very on the nose. They’re even wearing the colors.”, added Donnie.
Maybe the four shouldn’t have gotten that invested in a band, but they had time to kill until it was dark. As much as they were ninja, trained to fight the evils of the world, they were still just teenagers. Something they still craved to be every once in a while. Even Leo craved to be just a normal teenager here and there. Do normal teenager things, like obsessing over a band with his brothers.
Splinter just glanced at his sons and smiled. He knew they had to grow up too quickly. Far too quick for any parents liking. But seeing them like this, acting more like someone their age, will always warm his heart. Moments like these made it feel like his boys didn’t have the safety of the world on their shoulders.
Splinter quickly changed his mind when his sons started blasting music through the lair. The first two songs were fine. Soda Pop and Golden as Mikey had later told him. But the one his sons loved the most was getting on his nerves. Your Idol was blasting on loop and Splinter was only seconds from making them turn it off. Never once in his life had he been happy his sons left for patrol. At least a few hours of quiet before they started again.
“Donnie.”, said Aka in that all too familiar voice of a big brother. The one where you know you fucked up.
“My favorite big brother?”, Murasaki tried.
“I’m your only big brother. What did you do?”
“Nothing-“, he tried.
“He used his Ninpo and that fired like all the tech.”, Ao said as he ate his sandwich.
“That’s why our speakers broke after the song!”, said Orenji.
“Wha- No, of course … not. .”
“Donnie.”, Aka’s voice even more stern than before.
“I’m already fixing it!”
“You better fix it before we go to the next realm.”, Aka declared.
“Yes, yes.”
Sue him, he didn’t know his Ninpo could fry the tech of a dimension. It didn’t happen in any world before this! How was he supposed to know the tech in this world was pathetic?!
Notes:
As a side note, 2007 Donnie and Leo saw this one while Bay Mikey and Raph saw Watch Me Work like the 2007 versions.
Chapter 9: How It's Done // 2-14
Chapter Text
As the news slowly traveled the city that most technology was starting to work again, everyone side eyes Donnie. He denied any involvement. He did want to know how the tech started to work again, or rather who got it to work again. Donnie was sure there was a person behind it.
Regardless of the mysterious shut down of tech all over the city, the four brothers had a different issue. Donnie had gotten the scanners updated and ready to go when city came in screaming about something. His brothers weren’t sure what he had said yet.
“Slow down. What is it?”, asked Leo.
“The Mad Dogs are having a concert! Tonight!”, Mikey said excited.
“Tonight?!”, yelled Donnie and Raph.
“Please Leo, can we go?”, begged Mikey while he tried his best puppy dog eyes.
Leo looked away from Mikey, going out for a concert was dangerous and risky. But looking away didn’t help him much. They may not have the puppy dog eyes down like Mikey but Raph and Donnie looked so excited at the idea of going to a concert. Deep down Leo wanted to go too, but his rational mind told him it as a stupid idea.
“Fine. We can go after we finish patrol.”, Leo finally agreed with a sigh.
His little brothers cheered.
Patrol was relatively uneventful. They did have a run in with a gang. They called themselves the Purple Dragons, but that was handled quickly. After they headed towards the stadium. Luckily for them they had the best spots in the stadium, just above the action! Sometimes being a mutant ninja turtle had its perks.
Before the concert even started the four brothers were looking around the venue. Donnie was amazed by the tech on stage. The quality seemed so much more advanced than what humans usually had. Like tech he could built, just a cleaner design. Donnie liked the messy designs he made, but a nice and clean one was nice too. Not to mention the gear was mostly purple too. Mikey on the other hand was trying to convive Leo to let him sneak something from the food stalls. The food looked so good! They even had pizza! Leo was tempted, the food looked good, but refused Mikey. They had brought snacks and even their own pizza with them. Raph was looking around hoping to catch a glimpse of the big guy again. He may be acting like he didn’t want to the here, but his brothers knew he wanted to see this just as much as them.
Then finally the music started. First they played Soda Pop and right after the boys’ favorite, Your Idol. Followed by all their other released songs. The brothers had hoped they would release a new song, but as the concert went on, they had less and less hope for a new release.
That was until some masked men walked up on the stage just when the band wanted to bid them farewell for the night.
“Really? Now?”, said Orenji.
“You really need to work on your timing.”, said Ao.
“Now of all times?”, scoffed Murasaki.
Then music began to play, a tune no one had ever heard, and Aka started to sing.
Ugh, you came at a bad time
But you just crossed the line
You wanna get wild?
Okay, I'll show you wild
As if on cue the other three charged at the masked army of men. The way the moved was either really well planned or actual martial arts training. The later began to make more and more sense to Donnie and Leo.
Better come right, better luck tryin', gettin' to our level
'Cause you might die, never the time, tryna start a battle
Bleeding isn't in my blood, 뼈속부터 달라서
Beating you is what I do, do, do, yeah
Body on body, I'm naughty, not even sorry
And when you pull up, I'll pull up
A little late to the party (La-la-la-la)
Locked and loaded, I was born for this
There ain't no point in avoiding it
Annoyed? A bit
불을 비춰 다 비켜, 네 앞길을 뺏겨
Leo can admit Ao was good. He didn’t even have the fake sword from the first time he saw him and Murasaki. He snatched a – was that a kettle? Where did he get that? Anyway – he expertly beat up the man while not even dropping a drop only to throw the kettle to Murasaki.
Then Murasaki caught the kettle and went straight to beating up the man in front of him, beating the kettle in his face. Donnie had to admit that was brutal, but Raph liked the purple idol more and more. He was angry and Raph could appreciate that. Then the kettle moved towards Orenji.
Mikey noticed the instant noodled in Orenjis hand. He was fighting and getting noodles ready?! Can he get any cooler?! He even filled his brothers’ cups with water before they kicked the men away again.
Just as the twins were ready to eat their noodles, Orenji snatched them away, pointing to something on the cups and set them aside.
Knocking you out like a lullaby
Hear that sound ringing in your mind
Better sit down for the show
'Cause I'm gonna show you
How it's done, done, done
Aka took over again and some amazing special effects were at play as the four idols seemingly pulled out weapons out of nowhere to fight the stuntmen. Aka had a pair of tonfa, for some reason Raph was compelled to get some for himself. The kusari-fundo Orenji had seemed to be on fire, Mikey wanted to know how he did that to do it to his nunchucks! That looked so cool! Donnie was practically drooling over the metallic bo staff Murasaki pulled out. Donnie saw all the buttons it had. He wanted to press them. Leo noticed that Ao’s Odachi wasn’t the practice sword from a few days ago. It was real. These four knew how to fight.
Something in Leo’s gut told him this wasn’t just a show and these men weren’t just stuntmen.
(Hey) Mad Dogs don't miss
How it's done, done, done
(Hey) Mad Dogs don't quit
How it's done, done, done
The men were getting more and more aggressive in their movements.
“This isn’t just a show.”, said Leo.
“What do you mean?”, asked Mikey.
“Look at them. They’re really fighting.”
The three took a closer look at the stage.
“Leo is right.”, said Donnie.
“Damn – they’re good though.”, admitted Raph.
“Awesome!”, cheered Mikey.
Run, run, we run the town
Whole world playin' our sound
Turnin' up, it's goin' down
Mad Dogs show this, how it's done, done, done
The men charged at some of the gear at stage, almost crushing the idols. The four brothers were tempted to get down there and help the idols. But the idols seemed more focused on saving their instant ramen than anything.
“Yeah – that’s trash.”, mumbled Murasaki.
They four quickly slurped up their ramen before they continued to beat the men up.
“Let’s do this.”, said Ao.
Yeah, something about when you come for the crown
That's so humbling, huh?
갑자기 왜 그래? 먼저 건드려, 왜?
이제야 포기해, what?
Nothing to us, run up, you're done up, we come up
From sunup to sundown, so come out to play
Won either way, we're one in a million
We kill 'em, like, really? You want it? Okay
Heels, nails, blade, mascara
Fit check for my napalm era
Need to beat my face, make it cute and savage
Mirror, mirror on my phone, who's the baddest? (Us, hello?)
As they sung and fought, something that the four turtles will admit was really cool, Donnie checked his tech again. He got a notification about the energy readings again. Looking at everything he noticed his tech wasn’t quite breaking but slower than usual and glitching a little. Finally, he had a decent read on his scanner and he gasped, catching his brothers’ attention.
“It’s them.”, he said.
“What is them?”, asked Leo.
“They are behind those readings! They broke my tech!”
Knocking you out like a lullaby
Hear that sound ringing in your mind
Better sit down for the show
'Cause I'm gonna show you
(I'm gonna show you)
(I'm gonna show you)
How it's done, done, done
Donnie kept an eye at the readings as they song continued. The reading was spiking, higher than it had ever been. There wasn’t a sign of it stopping as it rose higher and higher.
I don't talk, but I bite, full of venom (Uh)
Spittin' facts, you know that's
How it's done, done, done
Okay, like, I know I ramble
But when shootin' my words, I go Rambo
Took blood, sweat, and tears, to look natural (Uh)
That's how it's done, done, done
Hear our voice unwavering
'Til our song defeats the night
Makin' fear afraid to breathe
'Til the dark meets the light
(How it's done, done, done)
As they walked closer to the front of the stage, the reading rose higher and higher, eventually reaching its peak when Ao his that high note. Not only did the scanning’s reach its peak, the remaining men on stage seemed to explode. Either the Mad Dogs really have some amazing special effects or those masked men really did explode. Given what they knew, the turtles assumed the later.
Run, run, we run the town
Whole world playin' our sound
Turnin' up, it's going down
Mad Dogs, show this how it's done, done, done
The crowd sung along as the readings slowly went down again.
We hunt you down, down, down (Down)
(Done, done, done)
We got you now, now, now (Got you now)
(Done, done, done)
We show you how, how, how (Show you how)
Mad Dogs, don't miss, how it's done, done, done
Then the readings were down again, fully how it started a few hours ago. No sign of anything weird. The Mad Dogs meanwhile left the stage as of nothing ever happened.
“We’re gonna have to talk to them.”, declared Leo.
“We’re meeting the Mad Dogs?!”, yelled Mikey.
“Not a friendly meeting.”, said Raph.
“I’d love to know how they broke my tech.”, said Donnie. He sounded anything but happy about that. Why would he, they somehow broke his stuff.
The brothers snug towards the changing rooms. Donnie, being the genius he is, had already figured out where the idols should be. As they snug towards the room and waited for the perfect moment to storm in. They just needed to wait till that one security guard was gone. He was almost out of sight when Donnie got another notification. Another spike.
“We should hurry.”, Donnie said.
When the guard was far enough they snug in only to see absolutely nothing.
“They’re gone?!”, yelled Mikey.
“How? We saw them walk in!”, exclaimed Donnie.
“Fucking great. Now we have to fight magicians?!”, yelled Raph.
“Let’s go home.”, said Leo.
This was getting weirder and weirder, especially when Donnie told them about the sever lack of that energy. It wasn’t gone, but a lot less. Like whatever had brought that energy was gone. Gone just like the Mad Dogs were.
Inside the changing room, Ao, Aka and Orenji stared down Murasaki.
“Turns out my calculations were a little wrong…”, he said.
“A little my ass!”, yelled Aka.
“And now the other uses are onto us! I don’t want to deal with a Donnie that got his tech destroyed! That you destroyed!”, yelled Ao.
“It was just a simple miscalculation. How was I supposed to know time works slightly different in that dimension!”, Murasaki defended himself.
“That doesn’t matter now. We need to end this! We need to send the akuma back where they belong!”, said Aka.
“Like a Takedown?”, suggested Orenji.
“Like a Takedown!”, said Aka.
Now they better hurry before they get ambushed by their counterparts.

Chapter 10: Could Have Been Me // 2-19
Notes:
Song:
Could Have Been Me - the Sing 2 version
And the final set of turtles is here. Again, it's my first time writing for them and I kinda want to do more, there's a lot to explore with the Batfam and the turtles.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Leo and his brothers decided to visit Gotham again. They loved New York, don’t get them wrong, but sometimes even ninja needed a change of pace. When they reached Wayne manor the turtles felt right at home. They had come over quite a few times since they first came here. The giant manor had become their second home and the few people residing in the mansion had become family to them. Mikey keeps telling his brothers heard Barbara telling Bruce to put the adoption papers away, his brothers weren’t buying it.
Of course, as they eventually went to the Batcave while they stayed. There hadn’t been any serious issues in while but the Batcave was the perfect place for a team of mutant turtles as a group of bat themed heroes.
As casual as everything was they were still doing everything like they normally were. Leo was excited to have a sparring partner that was leagues above him. even if Leo will forever boast that he head Batman. It was only once and Batman was still injured. But who can blame Leo, it’s a feat worth boasting about, especially for a teen. While they were sparing Raph was showing Damian things he probably shouldn’t. Bruce wasn’t sure if he was the biggest fan of their growing friendship – even if Raph got Damian to laugh more, usually at Mikey’s expense. Speaking of Mikey, he was trying to convince Alfred to get them pizza. Alfred may have a soft spot for all the kids, mutant or not, that Bruce kept bringing home, but he wasn’t gapping to let four teens, a young woman and twelve-year-old eat nothing but pizza. Donnie on the other hand was doing something with Barbara. What were they doing? None of them were sure. The turtles were used to one genius but when Donnie finally got to talk to someone that could understand him without him having to dumb it down? He wasn’t making any sense to his brothers anymore. They had reached a point where not even Bruce and Damian were sure what they were talking about, Alfred mostly tried to ignore the two geniuses.
All while they were having a moment together the radio was playing in the background.
“And now the new radio hit from the Mad Dogs, a new and aspiring band.”, said the moderator.
Don't wanna live as an untold story
Rather go out in a blaze of glory
I can't hear you, I don't fear you
I live now 'cause the bad die last
Dodgin' bullets with your broken past
Well, I can't hear you, I don't fear you now
Something about the voices called to both Leo and Mikey. Like they knew them from somewhere, but neither could really pin point it.
Wrapped in your regret
What a waste of blood and sweat, oh-oh, oh
I wanna taste love and pain
I wanna feel pride and shame
I don't wanna take my time
I don't wanna waste one line
I wanna live better days
Never look back and say
"It could have been me, it could have been me"
Yeah!
The song had caught everyone’s attention at this point, something was weird about that song. Like it wasn’t written with passion, let alone performed with love.
Don't wanna wake up on a Monday morning
The thought of work is gettin' my skin crawling
I can't fear you, I don't hear you now
Despite Donnie and Raph not likening this some the voices caught their attention, like they could do a lot better if the song was different.
Wrapped in your regret
What a waste of blood and sweat, oh-oh, oh
“Feels like an industry plant.”, muttered Damian.
I wanna taste love (I wanna taste love)
I wanna feel pride and shame
I don't wanna take my time (No, oh, oh)
I don't wanna waste one line (Hey-hey, hey-hey)
I wanna live better days (Better days)
Never look back and say
"It could have been me" (It could have been me), "it could have been me" (It could have been me)
I wanna taste love (I wanna taste love and pain)
I wanna feel pride and shame (I wanna feel pride and shame)
I don't wanna waste my time (I don't wanna waste my time)
I don't wanna waste one line (I don't wanna waste one night)
I wanna live better days
Never look back and say
"It could have been me", oh, it could have been me"
It could have been me!
All in all, the song felt like a bad joke. Even if it was popular, there was something missing from it, like the artists were forced to make something for the radio station.
“Between you and me? This is their only good song.”, said the moderator.
“I call bullshit.”, said Raph.
“Master Raphael.”, said Alfred.
“It’s true. This is by far their most radio friendly song. Their others are a lot better.”, explained Donnie.
“Prove it!”, challenged Damian.
“Sure.”, said Barbara as she pulled up the other songs the Mad Dogs had published.
“You had that ready?”, asked Leo.
“I liked some of their songs.”, she admitted.
Listening into their other songs proved everyone’s suspicion. This song was bad and not something the band actually wanted to produce. Every other song they had released had ten times more passion than Could Have Been Me. Even Alfred who didn’t enjoy most of the songs preferred their first song, Soda Pop and heir most popular one, Golden, over this mess.
“Why did we go with that song again?”, asked Orenji.
“We needed something to get the attention of a lot of people. So, we needed to get to the radio. Most of our songs have been deemed inappropriate. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know.”, explained Murasaki.
“At least we have the stage ready for Takedown.”, said Aka.
“And we can finally get rid of those stupid Akuma!”, said Ao.
To say Donnie and Barb got invested was an understatement. The young woman was already deep in the lore regarding the group. She already knew the basic things about them, their ages, names and even small little facts about them. Donnie was invested seconds into Barbara’s first ramble about them.
The rest of them made the decision to leave the two geniuses to whatever that was.
It wouldn’t have been that much of a deal if they had just got that out of their system but of course it didn’t stop there. That’s how all of them got here, in the Batcave in their pajamas, expect for Alfred. Alfred was in a suit, like always.
“Do you ever wear something else?”, asked Mikey.
“That is none of your concern, Master Michelangelo.”
“Why are we here at like 2 a.m.?”, asked Damian.
“Wow, you’re crankier than usual.”, said Raph.
“Damian doesn’t like being woken up.”, explained Bruce.
“FATHER!”, Damian yelled.
“You are a kid.”, said Leo.
“And you’re a teen, your point?”, sassed Damian.
With that they were all forced to sit through their two favorite geniuses rambling about a group of idols. Why were they even so interesting in the first place? Well, they were about to find out. These two even made a whole power point for it.
“First we have Aka, he’s the oldest at 19.”, started Barbara.
“That machine is only 19?!”, yelled Raph.
“Impressive right? Anyway- He’s the leader and has been seen entertaining small children between performances. Next we have the twins, Murasaki and Ao. They haven’t stated who is older between the two. My money is on Ao.”, she said.
“I personally thing Murasaki is older. Both are 18, just a year younger than Aka.”, said Donnie, “Murasaki is said to also be the brain backstage. An idol and a tech guy? He’s my favorite.”
“Ao on the other hand said to be very talkative and loves to talk to everyone around them.”, continued Barb.
“Last we have Orenji, the youngest at 17. While most of the inner workings aren’t known to the public, he’s likely the choreographer. And you know the best part about them? They are brothers!”
The two continued their rambling about the group. To say they were invested was in understatement. The thing about these two was however that if they got invested enough in something, they could get anyone to like it. They did just that, one by one they got their family invested.
First Mikey, he was the easiest one to convince, funnily enough only a little later was Damian. Mikey really liked the music as a whole, Damian loved the performance. It looked like fighting more often than not. He was already thinking about incorporating some things he saw them do, like that one move Orenji pulled in How It’s Done.
Next was Raph, he was already a little interested simply because of Aka’s physique. Raph was just waiting for the two to pull up his training regime, they never did. That didn’t stop him from wanting to know. He just knew the guy could lift a lot!
Second to last were both Bruce and Leo. They were overanalyzing everything about them. Damian wasn’t the only one that noticed that their dances were more like fighting than anything. They were sure these idols had actually martial arts training. Leo was amazed by it, Bruce worried about four children being trained like that.
The last one was Alfred, not because something like this was his kind of thing, but because the children and Master Bruce were happy. Anything that made them happy made him happy.
As they finished up, all of them finally noticed just how tired the two looked. If Donnie hadn’t been wearing his mask, his eye bags would match Barbara’s. She just managed to close the power point file before he piratically collapsed in the chair, seconds later she was asleep. Donnie wasn’t doing any better. He yawned a few times before he collapsed into Raph.
“HEY!”, he yelled.
Mikey gasped. “Turtle pile! Come on Leo!”
Mikey threw himself on Raph and Donnie as he pulled Leo along.
If Damian got comfortable with them as well, no one said anything.
Alfred and Bruce got a few of the fluffy blankets Mikey insisted they get and put them around the kids.
“They have a father, Master Bruce.”, Alfred said as he saw the all too familiar smile on the hero’s face.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“And you’re sure we won’t run into our counterparts?”, asked Aka.
“Don’t worry, why would they be in Gotham? This is Batman’s city, not ours.”, said Murasaki confident.
“Batman? Is he a bat mutant?”, asked Orenji,
“No actually, apparently he’s human. He just wears a bat themed costume.”, explained Murasaki.
“Why call himself Batman then? And not like – I don’t know, Superman?”, suggested Ao.
Notes:
I wanted this one to feel like a song just for marketing, like the boys didn't really enjoy making it but needed to get it out to get more people to know them in a short time.
In most of the other worlds, their songs were never played in the radio, like how K-Pop songs weren't played on radio until relatively recently (at least I only noticed that in the past few years with one or two songs here and there) They basically made something for the mainstream and hate it. I hope I got that point across, also that no one in the Batfam or the TMNT likes this one either. Also, was it ever mentioned how old Damian/Robin is in the movie? I kinda went with twelve, that seemed about right...

Chapter Text
Not for the first time did Bruce appreciate being as rich as he was. It made a lot of things easier for him and his kids. One of those perks was being able to secure a private lodge for the Mad Dogs concert in a few days. Donnie and Barb weren’t the only ones interested in seeing the band live. The only safe way to let the turtle see it too, was with a private area. Now Bruce just had to tell them the news.
When he walked into the Batcave after spending a few hours at Wayne Enterprise, he didn’t expect his kids to be glued at the map of the stadium.
“What are you doing?”, he asked as he got closer.
“AH!”, Mikey, who had been right next to Bruce jumped away from him.
“We need to figure out a way to get the turtles in the stadium! We need to see the Mad Dogs!”, Barb explained.
“Don’t worry about that.”, Bruce said, “I got us a private lodge.”
The kids paused and looked at him, after a few seconds of starring, Mikey threw himself at Bruce. His brothers followed suit. The turtles had always been a lot more physically affectionate than any of Bruce’s other kids. Even Damian and Barbara joined the group hug.
Ah – Fuck. Bruce really had adopted the four turtles as his own, hadn’t he?
Just as they thought everything would go well until the concert, they found out something went wrong in the Arkam Asylum. Of course, the team of heroes headed out to see what was the issue. When they finally got to the asylum Batman, Robin and Batgirl were met with the officer in charge. The turtles stayed hidden; Batman may be Gotham’s hero but they were still mutants.
“The security system went down roughly thirty minutes ago, some inmates escaped. The moment we found out we increased security for the most dangerous inmates. They, thankfully, are still in their cells.”, the officer explained.
“Well find the escaped criminals and find out what happened.”, Batman promised.
“Thank you.”, the officer said.
“Batgirl, you take a look at the system, Robin you’re with me.”, unknown to the officer, Batman also signaled the turtles. Donnie to accompany Batgirl and the other three to join him and Robin.
When Batgirl was in the security room, she requested the officer to leave to do her job. He respected her request and Donnie came out of hiding. They worked to find the source of the security breach.
“It looks like someone hacked into this, but at the same time I’ve never seen code like this.”, said Donnie.
“It looks foreign. Like it didn’t come from a computer.”, added Batgirl.
“You think someone has like tech powers?”, joked Donnie.
“I hope not, but it sounds really cool.”, she admitted.
While they couldn’t find the source of the shutdown, Batgirl downloaded the foreign code, just to analyze it better. As they were working to get the system back online the screen started to have a purple glow to it. The two stepped away from for a second. The glow was gone just as quickly as it had appeared.
“What was that?”, Batgirl asked.
“Hypothetically it could be – you didn’t want an answer did you?”, Donnie said.
“Not right now.”
When they took another look at is, they noticed the system was back online. They did notice that there was still some foreign code, but that code was implemented as improvement.
“They fixed it?”, said Batgirl in disbelief.
While they took care of that, the others had brought the escaped inmates back. With the system back up the group headed back to the Batcave where Donnie and Barb explained everything to the rest.
“Why did you use your Ninpo again? You saw what it did last time!”, yelled Aka.
“I needed to fix my bo! One of those stupid Akuma made a scratch in my baby!”, defended Murasaki.
“Dude, Gotham’s worst villains could have gotten out!”, Aka said.
“I fixed it again! And even improved it!”, Murasaki yelled.
“No more Ninpo for you until we know it’s not going to break anything!”, Aka decided. Murasaki muttered under his breath.
Despite the situation at hand, they still wanted to go see the Mad Dogs, the security of the asylum was perfectly fine and the code, after a long analysis was good, but not harmful. It was almost like someone hacked the system on accident and repaired their mistake as soon as they found out. They’d go search for the one responsible later. Bruce hated leaving things as is, but his kids had been so excited to see the Mad Dogs he couldn’t handle the idea of them being disappointed and not being ablet to see it.
When they were in their private lodge, Barb, Damian and Bruce walked in, going through security and all while the turtles’ snug in through the vents. As soon as they had received their requested beverages, the turtles entered the room.
Finally, the concert was about to begin, they started with How It’s Done, Damian’s personal favorite. But just when everyone assumed the concert was over Ao addressed the crowd.
“We wanted to use the opportunity and remind everyone to stay alert on your way home. With last night’s incident in the Arkam Asylum, we are all more aware with the possible dangers than ever. If you don’t fell save going home alone, we have called a few cabs. We’ll even cover the cost. We want everyone to stay safe. And with that we also want to thank Batman and his amazing team for handling the situation so quickly!”
Despite being the heroes in Gotham they rarely got a thanks from people. Having someone thank them so openly was a nice feeling. They didn’t do anything for the praise, but a thank you was nice every once in a while.
“And before we say goodbye to all of you, we have one more song for you!”, said Aka as the music started for a completely new song.
Takedown, takedown
Takedown, down, down, down (Mad Dogs boys to the world)
Takedown, takedown
Takedown, down, down, down (It's a takedown)
So sweet, so easy on the eyes, but hideous on the inside
Whole life spreading lies, but you can't hide, baby, nice try
I'm 'bout to switch up these vibes, I finally opened my eyes
It's time to kick you straight back into the night
The song was more aggressive than the ones before. Something within the lines made the anger clear. They were mad at something or someone. Mikey and Donnie knew whoever they were mad at, had really messed up to get the idols this antagonistic towards them.
'Cause I see your real face and it's ugly as sin
Time to put you in your place 'cause you're rotten within
When your patterns start to show
It makes the hatred wanna grow outta my veins
Leo and Raph felt similarly as Aka and Ao continued. Something in them wanted to know just who got the idols this mad. This upset. There was something in them that was almost protective of them, like they knew them better than they actually did.
I don't think you're ready for the takedown
Break you into pieces in a world of pain, 'cause you're all the same
Yeah, it's a takedown
A demon with no feelings, don't deserve to live, it's so obvious
As everyone as focusing on the performance, which had some amazing light effects, the was something that made all the heroes feel uneasy about something, they couldn’t quite pin point it, but something was just wrong.
I'ma gear up and take you down
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
It's a takedown
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
I'ma take it down
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
It's a takedown
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (Take it down)
Despite they gut feeling telling them something was off, not only about the song but also about the stage and even the idols themselves, they continued to watch. They could just be paranoid.
It's a takedown, I'ma take you out, you break down like, "What?"
It's a takedown, I'ma take you out and I ain't gonna stop
정신을 놓고 널 짓밟고 칼을 새겨놔
You'll be beggin' and cryin', all of you dyin', never miss my shot
When your patterns start to show
It makes the hatred wanna grow out of my veins
Once again the four idols on stage moved more akin to a warrior, a ninja even, than an idol. There was more to it but given how quickly the group had appeared a few weeks ago, there was next to nothing about them before they took off.
I don't think you're ready for the takedown
당당하게 어둠 앞에 다가서 다 무 너뜨려
Yeah, it's a takedown
A demon with no feelings, don't deserve to live, it's so obvious
Aka, as impressive as ever took the center of the stage and some of the most impressive special effects began. His diamond shaped tattoos – Where they even tattoos? – seemed to glow a deep red. His eyes looked like they were glowing too.
I'ma gear up and take you down
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
It's a takedown
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
I'ma take it down (Watch me do it, yeah)
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down
It's a takedown (Ooh)
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (Ooh)
With the lines the younger brothers sang their tattoos – Seriously who tattooed a minor? – began to glow. Maybe they were just body paint, but regardless, most of the stage was illuminated by the glow of the idol’s tattoos and their eyes. It look otherworldly, like they didn’t quite belong here.
Oh, you're the master of illusion
나를 속이려 하지 마
Look at all the masses that you're foolin'
But they'll turn on you soon, so how?
How can you sleep or live with yourself?
A broken soul trapped in a nastiest shel
영혼 없는 니 목숨을 끊으러 and watch you die
You can try but you can't hide
With everyone’s lines the glow just grew brighter and brighter.
It's a takedown, I'ma take you out, you break down like, "What?"
It's a takedown, I'ma take you out and I ain't gonna stop
I'ma cut you open, lose control, then rip out your heart
You'll be beggin' and cryin', all of you dyin'
I'ma gear up and take you down
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (La-la-la)
It's a takedown
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (Yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah)
I'ma take it down
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (Ooh)
It's a takedown (Ooh)
Woah-oh, da-da-da, down (Watch me do it, yeah)
With a snap the glow was gone only a little of the music was left for the very last line of the song.
Take it down
When the last line was delivered, the lights in the stadium turned on and the idols were gone too.
The group of heroes couldn’t quite shake the weird feeling they still had. They decided to wait a little longer until they left the lodge. That is when Mikey looked out of the large glass window.
“What are those things?”, Mikey asked as he pointed towards the sky.
“What things- WHAT THE FUCK?!”, yelled Raph as he looked at what Mikey was pointing at.
In the sky were what seemed to be rips, like something was ripping apart the sky.
“You guys see that, right?”, asked Orenji.
“Those are portals…”, said Ao.
“Portals to our dimension.”, added Murasaki.
“We’re the reason all of this is happening.”, Aka said as realization dawned on them, “We have to stop this. All of this.”
“We need to fix this! If we don’t, the multiverse could collapse on itself!”, said Murasaki.
“We will. We have one last stop. We’ll fix it and make sure this never happens again!”, declared Aka.
Chapter 12: Good to Be Bad // 2-23
Chapter Text
It had been almost a whole year since their counterparts, or rather the Mad Dogs, first appeared in their world. Not that they knew that from the get go. They had no idea until much later. They didn’t even know if they would see them again, but apparently they would. The Mad Dogs had made a comeback and brought along a whole lot of new songs. The four brothers will admit they are far better than Your Idol and Soda Pop, but that may be because they now know the songs had something to do with brainwashing.
When they found out about the concert in a nearby part they were ready to head there and enjoy the show once again. They wanted to be a close as possible, maybe so they could talk to their really cool older counterparts again.
When they got to the park, the area in front of the little stage was packed. The stage itself was really cool too! There was a small balcony above the actual stage. Donnie just knew it had to be his counterpart that build the set.
They may not have gotten as close as they wanted to but they were close enough to see the whole stage perfectly and then music started.
From the North to the South
From the East to the West
Lost boys, lost girls
You all know you're the best
Hit the streets, it’s your day
Turn it up, now's your chance
It's time to get up on your feet and dance!
Whoo!
The idols were nowhere to be seen clearly waiting for cool entrances. The resident turtles were looking around trying to find the colorful human disguises.
Anybody wanna be like us?
Everybody wanna be like us!
Hey
All the boys from Auradon
And the girls ’cause they know what's up
Huh!
Your life could change today
Your life could change today
These streets named after us
Because we paved the way
Leo started to flap his hands as he saw Ao enter the stage. Knowing that Ao was another version of Leo himself only made the idol so much cooler. Only now did Leo notice that Ao didn’t carry himself like a snobby popstar but a fighter, dare he saw like an anime protagonist. Urgh – he sounds like Donnie…
Mikey finally caught a glimpse of Orenji. The orange themed idol looked as cheerful as ever. Now that Mikey knew they were both a version of Mikey, the idol seemed less like a popstar, at least in the back of his mind, and more like a cousin. They had deiced to call their counterparts their cousins, at least to each other.
Donnie knew the jet pack that Murasaki hovered in with wasn’t a special effect. He knew his amazing counterpart was smart enough for that to be an actual jet pack. Donnie couldn’t wait to ask him all the questions that had been collecting in his brain now that he was back.
Seeing the big guy again was no less impressive then the first time around. Sure, he human disguise looked smaller, but Raph knew what was under that disguise. He wanted nothing more than tot try his hand at fighting him!
Everyone come and take your shot
Now's the time, show 'em what you got
'Cause everyone is gonna get their chance
They said that being from the Isle was bad
Ao and Murasaki left the stage to enter the crowd, something they had never done before they got everyone in the crowd hyped up, even their counterparts. They even walked past them. Ao quickly patted Leo on the head and smiled at him while Murasaki patted Donnie on the shell. The two left the crowd as quickly as they had entered it, standing on the stage again.
Well, it's good to be bad
And we're proof of that
Used to be lost, now we're on the map
Used to steal stacks, now we’re giving back
Remember that
It’s good to be... bad
If you got pride
Raise your V's up high
Wave ’em wide, side to side
Feel the vibe
It's good to be bad
The four idols danced around each other during the chorus, clearly having a lot more fun in during this performance that they had in any other before it.
I wanna see you all rep your block
I wanna see you all rep your block
Hey!
Show your pride, let me hear ya shout
We're from the Isle of the Lost!
Yes!
We're here to celebrate
We’re here to elevate
If you're down, then make your move
But you best not hesitate
Come on!
The special effects, if they were even effects around Murasaki were out of this world, literally. The purple light effect moved over the crowd and seemed to get everyone more and more hyped. Somehow the music seemed to come from more than just the large speakers, like the music was coming from everyone’s phones.
Today's the day that you won't forget
The best to come ain't happened yet
Take a bow, it won't be your last
You're from the Isle if anybody asks
Whoo!
Ao’s special effects were as impressive as Murasaki’s. Somehow Ao seemed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once. Like he was teleporting from one side of the stage to the balcony and back.
It's good to be bad
And we're proof of that
Used to be lost, now we're on the map
Used to steal stacks, now we're giving back
Remember that
It's good to be...
Bad!
If you got pride
Raise your V's up high
Wave 'em wide, side to side
Feel the vibe
It's good to be bad
Again, the dancing seemed more like four brothers having fun than a group of idols. It was better much better than the dances before if you asked the four resident turtles.
They can try to deny our style
But we were born this way
'Cause you can take the VK outta the Isle
But you can't take the Isle out the VK
If you wanna make it hype, not a moment to waste
Make it loud, make it live, make it jump to the bass
Make it what you want, but you'd better make your case
'Cause the Isle makes us and we're reppin' this place
Much like their brothers before them, Orenji and Aka mingled with the crowd and even got them to dance with them. Aka ruffled Raph’s head, messing his headband up a little bit in the process. Orenji took Mikey’s hands and spun him around a little. They only blinked once and the two were up in the small balcony.
So when I say "V", you say "K"
V! K! V! K!
When I say "all", you say "day"
All! Day! All! Day!
When I say "V", you say "K"
V! K! V! K!
When I say "all", you say "day"
All day!
Come on
Hey!
It's good to be... bad
Everyone in the crowd acted as instructed. Shouting along with them. At the end everyone was singling along to the song itself, dancing and clearly enjoying themselves. This was just a concert anymore, the way everyone was having fun and simply enjoying the moment, made this much more memorable. No phone was in sight anymore and everyone was living then and there.
It's good to be bad
And we're proof of that
Used to be lost, now we're on the map
Used to steal stacks, now we're giving back
Remember that
It's good to be... bad!
If you got pride
Raise your V's up high
Wave 'em wide, side to side
Feel the vibe
It's good to be... bad
The crowd cheered as the idols left the stage and the four resident turtles hurried after them, hoping to talk to them but when they were backstage, the idols were gone. How did they even leave that quickly?
Thanks to Leo they escaped their small counterparts through a portal. They wanted to see them and talk to them one last time but given the situation, they didn’t have a lot of time. They were already putting everything at risk by being here and not going home.
They were cleaning up the first mess they made. Along their tour they had discovered that there were still a few people under their first spell, they needed to come here one final time to fix everything. Leaving people caught in that spell seemed far too cruel.
“This is really it.”, said Orenji, sadness evident in his voice.
“Yeah. We’ll never get to do this again.”, said Ao.
“It’s better this way.”, added Aka.
“We didn’t even get to talk to them.”, said Murasaki.
They all had wished to spend more time with the little ones, even with all their other counterparts, but messing with the multiverse was dangerous, very dangerous. They should have stopped after the first round, they only made everything worse.
Just as they were about to pack up and leave Ao looked up and saw the worst possible thing he could. The rifts.
“SHIT!”, he yelled.
“Oh no!”, yelled Orenji was he rushed to Ao’s side, “We need to do something!”
“The rifts will destroy everything!”, added Murasaki.
“Let’s go!”, said Aka as he donned his human disguise again and head out. His little brothers followed him without hesitation.
If only they had never started this stupid tour, they should have listened to the warnings!
Later that day the four turtles were on that same roof they had been when they first found out about their counterparts, hoping they’ll show up again. Instead, they noticed many rips form in the night sky. They were beautiful but at the same time seemed very dangerous.
“They look like that portal.”, said Donnie.
They were trying to figure it all out but to no avail. As not one but five portals opened right above them. They caught glimpses of what seemed to be other worlds only for something – no someone – to fall through the five portals seconds later. They ended up right next to the four teens. As they got a closer look at them, they noticed that these people weren’t just about anyone. They were more counterparts.
One of the counterparts looked up at them, clearly a version of Raph, he had a chip in his plastron, and glared at them and at every other turtle on the roof.
“Not this shit again!”, he yelled.
Notes:
Now we’re out of pre written chapters. 😬 I had a few busy days - anyway we’ll be back to our regular scheduled bullshit in a few days. 🫡
