Chapter Text
Harvey’s scream, the scissors in his eye, the blood gushing down his porcelain skin as it pops out leaving a fleshy cavity where his left eye once was.
Sage stands there, they blink deliberately, trying banish the odd sensation from their own eyes.
“You… WHAT THE HELL?!” Harvey Harvington cries as he hold his hands to his damaged eye, staining them as blood pours out “My eye! OH GOD, MY EYE!!”
The scissors slip from Sage’s hands, shock slowly causing them to shut down, their breathing picking up pace at the realisation of what they have done.
“You’re a monster! What the hell is wrong with you?!”
What was wrong with them? Despite the horror at the fact they stabbed someone’s eye out they don’t… Really feel all that bad about it…?
“I’m sorry, Harvey. I don’t know what came over me-“
“Sorry? SORRY?! Sorry isn’t going to fix this!” Harvey snaps, glaring at Sage “How could you? How could you be so cruel?! You- You’ve disfigured me!”
They just wanted money for their operation, why did they even think to take it this far?
Sage feels themself panic even more upon another equally horrific realisation… They’re going to go to jail for this. Harvey isn’t going to just sweep this under the rug! They stabbed out his eye for fuck sake! Just look at him!
They study his appearance closely, his eye, well, where his eye used to be, must be in a lot of pain. He keeps glaring, but under that anger it’s obvious he’s scared. Because of them. They can’t help but compare the generous pastel man to a tortured puppy in their mind, especially because of their whimpering earlier… He just so…
Sage should feel like absolute scum, a real stain on humanity for being so cruel as to permanently disfigure someone who only wanted to help them. But they don’t. And that scares them more than going to jail.
“I don’t want the money anymore.” They say, softly
Harvey’s face softens in surprised confusion “J-Just got back to the feather, or-or even the needle! Just please .. p-please I just want the pain to stop .. please, please, i-it hurts…”
His begging stirs something in Sage, it feels… good to hear him plea, it only makes them want to hurt him more… Just so they can hear him beg them again, to hear his desperate cries, even hear him whimper and whine pitifully like a kicked little puppy.
Sage has no choice.
They pick up the hammer, it sits heavier in their hand, burdened with the weight of their decision, there’s no turning back now.
“Wait, wha- No! NO! NO! NOT THE HAMMER!!” Harvey exclaims, not knowing his pleading is only egging them on
They swing it, aiming at his head, they feel it collide, and they watch as Harvey collapses to the ground, blood running down his head. Sage kneels down and presses their fingers to his neck, they let out a breath, they didn’t know they were holding when they feel his still beating pulse.
“Alright Harvey, let’s get you my place and patch you up.” They tell the unconscious man, they hook their hands under his arms and drag him to the back of their minivan “I’ll find something to cover your eye, maybe I’ll get you those cool glass eyes when your eye socket heals!”
They swing open the back door and lift the pastel man inside making sure to place a folded jacket under his head so if he wakes up he’ll at least be comfortable.
Sage looks back at the stall, curious they approach it again and look behind it, a gasp escaping them at the sight of three massive bags of money behind it, this more than enough for their operation, they would would have to be mad to leave so much behind…
They take all three bags, no point in leaving money out in the middle of nowhere to possibly just be left to rot. They throw the bags beside Harvey before closing and locking the back door. With a heavy sigh, they enter their minivan, and drive off, going a little bit over the speed limit.
They have a lot of preparation to do before Harvey wakes up…
