Chapter Text
It was 6:30 in the morning. Sae was already awake; he’s too perfect to sleep in.
His mornings are very predictable, always thought out, and always the same. Yoga, shower, do his hair (today sae decided that he’ll leave his bangs down), kombucha, and making sure Rin gets out of bed. The younger Itoshi always ends up grumbling. Sae thinks Rin is too old to act like that. By the time Rin actually ends up finishing getting ready, Sae is two steps out the door.
The drive to school isn’t too bad. Sae made sure his chauffeur dropped them off before a crowd could form. Walking 5 minutes wasn’t that big of a deal anyway.
The walk to school was quiet, peaceful, almost. Rin had his earbuds in, yet still following his brother like a baby duckling. People stare at the siblings while they walk and enter the courtyard. They point and whisper, almost as if the brothers aren’t real. Sae gets the majority of the attention, and Rin has made sure to keep a low profile. However, today, the whispers are different.
“Did you hear? Shidou’s back!”
“Wait, from juvie?? What if his muscles get even more defined!?”
“Bet 5 bucks that he gets into a fight within the next 36 hours.”
Ryusei Shidou.
The name is almost more relevant than Sae’s. That's the reason why Sae is listening, the only reason, he tells himself.
Nevertheless, Sae has heard of the name before. Everyone has. Rumors, memories, fights, and his chaos still lingered and were etched into everyone’s minds. Except for Sae.
Sae has never seen the man before. Apparently, just 5 months ago, one month before sae came back from Spain, Shidou got himself into deep trouble. He allegedly snuck into the school to retrieve some forgotten homework. But that wasn’t enough to get him in juvie. About 2 days after Shidou snuck in, a kid blabbed about it, Shidou heard about the snitch, and then beat him so bad that the kid was hospitalized. Yet, with that reputation, Sae never cared enough to pay attention. Sae is now actually starting to wonder if he’s really that different from everyone else.
When the two brothers enter the school, they part ways and head to their lockers on separate sides of the school. Sae put in his combination, looking to have a peaceful morning. It was ruined as soon as Sae mildly acknowledged the presence near the row of lockers parallel to him. 4 boys were loitering– Aiku, Karasu, Otoya, and the French transfer, Charles. They were loud, like normal. Otoya was trying to get into some other poor girls’ pants, Karasu was judging him loudly, and Charles was acting like he was high on Skittles. Aiku is on his phone, then looks at sae and smirks.
“Hey prodigy. You might not be ready for today. There's a li’l pup who won't follow you around without a challenge. He might even be your Prince Charming.”
Sae was surprised that Aiku ruined his morning in just 13 seconds this time; it's a new record.
“Oi, Itoshi! Don’t ignore me.” The heterochromatic boy calls out. “You’re always acting like you have a stick up your ass, maybe Shidou can make your ice prince aura break, probably under those weird biceps of his.”
He chuckles, then goes back on his phone.
Sae doesn’t bother responding. And yet, there’s a certain pause when sae heard the mysterious boy’s name again. Luckily, the bell rings.
When sae heads to class, he notices Charles sprinting down the hallway with impressive speed. What a shame. Sae thinks, all that energy, yet he still won’t ever be a better midfielder than me. Sae continues walking with that usual blank expression.
The second bell rings when sae just sits down at his desk. His spot is next to the window, but in the middle of the row.
After a while, class starts. Mr Prince drones on about history or whatever. Sae is smart enough that he doesn’t need to pay attention. It’s boring, and Mr Prince is trying to be cool and trendy is honestly making it worse. It says like that for a while. Until–
“MS ANRIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! MY FAVOURITE SECRETARY!! DID YA MISS ME, AUNTIE??? I GOT YA SOME STARBIES!!”
“Get to class, Shidou! Here is your new schedule, and stop disrupting the entire school!!!” Ms. Anri is heard replying.
Voices boom from down the hall. It was loud, annoying, yet impossible to ignore. Sae narrows his eyes. I guess people weren’t lying about him, Sae thinks.
Then, to make it even more chaotic, the French boy pops up from behind a bookshelf. Nobody knows how he got there, they also now that Charles has an art for disappearing
“SHIDOU IS BACK!! SHIDOU IS BACK!! ALL YOU LOSERS BOW DOWN BEFORE HIM!!!”
Charles cackles and sings off-key while jumping on Aiku’s desk. He almost falls when Karasu flicks a pencil at his leg, but that’s besides the point. Mr Prince, on the other hand, looks like he has seen war. The teacher rubs his temples and mutters curses under his breath. The other students are getting excited, but are still preparing for the worst.
Mr Prince finally manages to get Charles under control, and it’s relatively quiet for the next 5 minutes. The quiet doesn’t last for long, though.
BAM!
The door to Mr Prince’s classroom slams open.
And there he is.
Ryusei Shidou.
Ryusei is tall, to say the least. He has a bandage on his cheek, presumably from a fight, pink-died ends on bleached hair, tanned skin, and a tongue piercing catching the light. His button-up is open near the neck, his blazer is loose, and his uniform pants are baggy. A mischievous smirk carves into his face as he looks around the class.
“Missed me?”
The room stiffens. Aiku and Karasu greet him as if nothing had happened, Otoya whistles, and Charles tackles him.
Shidou smiles in a goofy grin, spins Charles around a couple of times before setting him on a desk, punches Aiku in the gut, and blows kisses to Karasu and Otoya. He looks around the class again with a long sigh until his eyes land on a certain pinkish-brown haired boy.
Shidou’s pupils dilate, his gaze turns predatory. He looks at Sae’s face, the long eyelashes, then down to his torso. Once they land on Sae’s waist, Shidou’s breath hitches. He looks at his hand, to his waist again, back to the hand, then to the waist.
Holy shit.. Is my hand a perfect fit? Damn, what if he has abs under that uniform too?? Shidou thinks.
Eventually, Shidou looks at Sae’s thighs, and it's like a physical blow to his chest. He almost drools. Then, when he looks back at Sae’s eyes, he smirks wider.
Damn. And I thought angels weren’t real. When Aiku told me bout this pretty thing when he visited me, I thought he was exaggerating. Holy fucking shit. He’s gorgeous. His thighs, his waist, shit, his thighs again. Oh, damn, his eyes are so pretty, too! He’s looking at me like a cockroach, but he could degrade me all he wants.
Shidou’s thoughts are going 1000 miles a minute. He even shuts his mouth for once to admire. He can’t comprehend how beautiful sae is. He didn’t know that someone that breathtaking existed.
Shidou then decides to turn to aiku for a split second, “Aiku, be my best man. I can already tell I’m getting married to this beauty.” The class freezes. Charles is looking like he’s planning on being the flower boy.
As the tanned male looks back at sae, he ends up strolling right to Sae’s desk. Shidou can’t help himself. He leans forward. A crinkle in his eyebrows appears as he stares at sae, assessing the midfielder’s beauty as if he still doubts that such beauty can exist. Sae doesn't do anything. Then Shidou takes his calloused hand and lifts it. He cradles Sae’s face with an unknown tenderness, a gentleness that the delinquent never knew he had. “Pulchritudinous…” Shidou whispers out loud without realizing. Sae’s eyes flicker for just a moment, but he goes back to his blank expression. The class, on the other hand, explodes.
“He’s insane! Touching Itoshi like that???”
“Does he have a death wish?”
“No. Fucking. Way.”
Gasps and whispers spread throughout the room. Mr Prince doesn’t even do anything just yet; he is as baffled as the next person.
Shidou doesn’t care that people are calling him crazy. Maybe he is. All that matters is that right now, Sae itoshi isn’t doing anything.
The tanned boy smirks, then thinks again.
This is gonna be fun…
