Chapter Text
Pure Vanilla was immediately up the moment the sun rose. He rushed outside and beelined it to the Crows In. Pushing the door open, he immediately spotted Black Raisin Cookie sitting at the counter with a raisin bun.
“Black Raisin! I need your help.” The cookie in question turned around, an eyebrow raised. “What is it? Did something happen?” She questioned, standing up after finishing her bun.
“Shadow Milk Cookie has been kidnapped as of yesterday and I need your help to track him. I’m afraid of what they might do to him.” Black Raisin gasped, her expression immediately going from shock to stern determination. “Very well. Lets go.”
The pair ran out of the building and immediately went to where Pure Vanilla had fought off the strange men. “This is where that man led me. I don’t know what they wanted, but they had Shadow Milks Souljam.” Black Raisin grimaced, sending one of her crows up into the air to scan the area.
“We better hurry. Shadow Milk is most likely defenseless. Even an immortal cookie like him can be weakened to the state of nearly crumbling.” Pure Vanilla bit his lip, nodding at Black Raisins statement. The two quickly began to search the forest, looking for anything that could hint to where the jester was.
The crow Black Raisin had sent flew back down and crowed, gesturing for the two cookies to follow. The ran quickly, coming to a stop in front of what looked to be an abandoned house.
“I think this is it.” Black Raisin said, carefully opening the door. The floorboards creaked as they walked, and came to a stop in front of another door. Black Raisin tried the handle, only to find it locked. She turned to Pure Vanilla who quickly used a spell to unlock it. The two cautiously descended down the stairs.
They ended up in a pitch black basement, the smell of jam heavy in the air. Pure Vanilla lit up his staff, only to gasp and nearly drop it when he saw what was in front of him.
There Shadow Milk lay on the cold ground, covered in bruises and cuts. His hair was cut short to his shoulders, his clothes were completely scraps, and a puddle of blood surrounded his head. He was pale and thinner than usual. His hands were tied behind his back and a metal band sat around his neck.
Pure Vanilla ran forward and crouched next to his partner. “Shadow Milk? Shadow Milk please wake up.” The vanilla cookie felt for a pulse and exhaled when he felt the weak thumping of his heart. “Pure Vanilla Cookie. I found his Souljam.” Black Raisin walked over holding the crystal and handed it to him. He nodded in thanks and quickly got to work on freeing his lover.
Pure Vanilla grimaced when he saw the rope burns and the blood and bruises. He let out a bit of magic, soothing most of the smaller cuts and bruises. The blueberry cookie stirred, groaning. His eyes fluttered open and he looked up at the cookie above him.
“Nilly?” Shadow Milk whispered, a small smile forming on his face. “Yes it’s me. Shh. Don’t try to move. You might have a concussion.” Shadow Milk snorted, shifting slightly.
Pure Vanilla quickly grabbed the jester and held him bridal style, ignoring the blood that was now smeared on his robes. The blue cookie giggled and shoved his face into his partners chest.
“Mmmm… ur warm…” Shadow Milk slurred out, rubbing his face slightly into the soft fabric. Pure Vanilla chuckled at Shadow Milks antics, knowing well enough that his actions were because of the concussion he suffered.
They made their way out of the building and back to the castle. Shadow Milk had his wounds treated and was told specifically to not do anything reckless. The blue cookie had just sighed and smiled tiredly.
Now, the two lay together in bed, Pure Vanilla hugging the jester. Shadow Milk closed his eyes and smiled. Maybe having a concussion wasn’t so bad after all.
