Work Text:
"Well, that's all for now, everyone! Thanks for watching as always~!"
The ending screen played into view, after a grueling challenge of an endurance stream. Kaguya would probably never do this again—turns out even her otherworldly patience can and will be tested against rage games.
"Good job today."
Iroha came into view, and Kaguya immediately sprung to life, not wasting a single moment before hugging her.
"Iroha!” Kaguya called out to Iroha, singing every syllable of her name. “Thank you for staying with me 'till the end! You're the best, you know that?!"
Iroha took a step back, not expecting (though she should have) the sudden affection, but returned it with a pat on the head.
"I just had a free day today, so..." Iroha mumbled. “I can't do it every time, though.”
"No need for excuses, Iroha!" Kaguya looked up at her and grinned. "Even if your day was filled to the brim and packed beyond hope, you would have made time for me~!"
“Well-" Kaguya hit the nail on the head, as Iroha looked away and whatever excuse she may have had died on her lips. "...Again, not always," Iroha weakly argued.
Kaguya giggled. Iroha loves her too much, you know? Not that she'd ever complain. “I'm really happy you spent time with me… Lately, you'd rather do some boring work than spend time with me!” Well, Kaguya would not complain about anything about Iroha except for her workaholic nature.
“Hey! It's not just some boring work, you know!” Iroha shot back. “And, I'm pretty sure we've hung out recently…”
“That was two months ago, Iroha!”
"What, no, it's only been—” Iroha paused, counting out the days since their last time together. Wordlessly, she opened the interface’s calendar, and realized that it has been, in fact, two months.
“Oh,” was all Iroha said.
“See? Day after day, it's been work, work, work!” Kaguya complained, burying herself deeper into the embrace, her following words mumbled. “I know that it's important to us… but, you should really stop overworking yourself.”
Distinctly, Kaguya remembers—a decade ago, where she realized how fragile humans could be. Iroha had reached her limit, between studying, working, and being Kaguya’s producer. At that moment, Iroha was at her most vulnerable. Kaguya really thought that she was about to die.
“Right,” Iroha said. Then, she turned back to Kaguya. “I'm sorry.”
The somber look on Iroha's face melted away whatever annoyances Kaguya might’ve had. While it was not as bad as before, still, Iroha rarely shows her vulnerability, even to Kaguya. But, she forgives her—it’s difficult to break a habit you've built for so many years.
“You're forgiven!” Kaguya smiled. “And when Iroha ever falls, I'll be there to catch you!” Just like how Iroha always looked out for her. Though she said that Iroha loves Kaguya too much (which is true!), the same goes for Kaguya to Iroha, too.
“I know.” Iroha returned her smile.
Right—they both love each other too much, and Kaguya treasures it the most.
"Anyways! I'm hungryyy, Iroha! Let's go eat!" Kaguya whined.
"Of course..." Iroha sighed, but the smile on her face never left.
"Do you want anything in particular?"
"Nothing specific, really..."
"Then, let's have some omurice!"
"Let's see... I think we still have some ingredients from last time..." Iroha contemplated. "Should we make them together? You're pretty tuckered out, though."
Kaguya shook her head frantically. They can only have so much time together, so she would use every second with her, damn it! "If it's with you, I won't ever get tired!"
"Jeez!" Iroha coughed. "Okay, we'll cook dinner together."
"Yayy!!" Kaguya jumped with joy, nearly knocking out their equipment.
"Hey, be careful! You'll break something if you keep jumping around like that!” Iroha scolded.
Kaguya stopped for a moment, before giving Iroha a kiss. "I love you, Iroha!"
Iroha reddened, averting her eyes from Kaguya. Iroha should get used to this, Kaguya thought, but selfishly, she wishes that Iroha would always be like this—flustered and shy—just so she can see that cute look on her face every time.
"I..." Iroha stuttered. "I love you too."
"No kiss?" Kaguya teased.
"Later!" Iroha gently nudged Kaguya away. "We still have to eat."
Kaguya pouted. "Fineeee."
"Seriously... Come on, let's go."
Kaguya opened her interface to log out, but, before she could, a big, red icon stole her attention—right next to it was the word ‘LIVE.’
"Ah, I forgot to end the stream," Kaguya said.
For a moment, the world stood still, silence enveloping the room. It was as if time itself had stopped.
"HAH??????????" Wow, it's been a while since Iroha lost her composure like that, Kaguya thought. She didn't think that Iroha still had any leftover sanity that could be thrown out the window. How nostalgic!
"Oh well, no big deal!" Kaguya shrugged. "Come on, Iroha! After we eat, I want to snuggle with youuuu—"
"END IT! END THE STREAM, NOWW———!!!!" Iroha cut Kaguya off, frantically pushing the END button. Well, too late now—they say that whatever you show to the internet, it will forever be immortalized. Even if she deleted the archive, there's bound to be endless clips that would show up on everyone’s recommendations.
The stream, as Iroha feared, became their most superchatted stream. To put more salt to the wound, they would become Tsukuyomi's top trending topics for weeks to come.
Iroha would very much rather not see the aftermath—unfortunately, her duties as Kaguya's producer prevented that escape. Stream impressions, announcements, fan behavior—all of those Iroha had to handle. With no choice (and fear in her heart), Iroha opened Tsukuyomi's dedicated social media section.

One by one, posts flooded Iroha's timeline.
So that's what the channel name means, huh...
My delusions weren't delusions...?!
I was thinking it was a set-up, but IroP's reaction blew away that impression LOL
Kaguya was so casual about it!
Even offstream, Kaguya's still needy, and IroP's still indulgent. But, I didn't expect this level of sweetness…!
Hey, IroP, does the "P" stand for pushover?
Iroha wouldn't show up on stream for a long, long time.
