Summary
Violet and Xaden are childhood best friends to enemies to lovers. Both of their parents are politicians, which lends to them frequently being in the same circles. Until Fen Riorson goes to prison, and Violet’s family cuts off all communication.
Xaden moves around a lot in his youth. His mother abandoned him when his father went to prison, and he goes into foster care. Garrick is his foster brother. Xaden joins the military when he’s of age, and when he gets out does work as protection detail.
Guess who’s receiving death threats as the daughter of a senator? Violet and Xaden are seemingly against it, but Brennan is positive that no one can protect his sister like Xaden Riorson will.

When Violet returns from a trip to visit her mom and walks in on her boyfriend of three years cheating, she suddenly finds herself searching for a new home. Enter her best friend's boyfriend's old roommates and the still-empty bedroom in their apartment. After an awkward meeting at the bar, where she manages to insult the one most opposed to a new roommate, they decide to give it a chance. Except now she can't escape her annoying(ly hot) roommate.
When Xaden's roommate and best friend moved in with his girlfriend of 2 years, he thought the empty bedroom would stay empty. It's not like they need help with the rent. Then she tells them about her best friend, who was recently cheated on, going through his own breakup; he feels enough camaraderie to agree to meet her. After getting scolded in his own bar by the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, he agrees more readily than any of his roommates would expect. Now his apartment smells like flowers, his dog won't sleep in his room anymore, and his roommates won't stop giving him shit.
