Summary
When the fates finally have enough of Dumbledore messing with the plan, they make a deal with Death to send Harry back. Harry, a 17-year-old now chained to the body of his eleven-year old self, must change the path they were set down.
...Or he could just do nothing. Well, try to do nothing. He still gets pulled into a war he wants no part in but, by the gods will he make everyone regret it.
And if he just so happens to gain a different appreciation for his fellow Slytherins, well that was completely on accident.

“This is the only way I could think of making you do what needs to be done. Now I'm going to send both of you back in time—to redo how fate was supposed to play out.”
“Oh, that's just cheating!” Harry laughs in disbelief. “You know I'd follow him anywhere he goes.”Harry and Draco are sent back in time by force to live how they were supposed to before it was altered.

Summary
James was not a coward, by any means, but that did not mean he was incapable of feeling fear. He WAS afraid, afraid for Lily and Harry, afraid for his friends, afraid for the future of his country... but sometimes he though that there was still time to run away, far away, to leave wizarding Britain and offer their son a real life and, above all, a real future.
He was not as interested in "The Prophecy" as Dumbledore was, no one was going to convince a Pureblood that prophecies always came true. It was quite the opposite, in fact: the prophecies that tended to come true were those that were provoked, and some days James wondered why Dumbledore believed in it so much. Then he understood, and that was when he was out.

A book 5 rewrite that asks and answers the question that always bothered me personally: Who was Harry's godmother and what happened to her?
