"Excellent!" Schlatt clapped his hands together.
Technoblade whipped his head around to see the grin on his face. He had hoped for some acknowledgement then, perhaps even an explanation, but was given none. Instead, he spoke to the King once more. "I continue to govern this land in exchange for joining your empire. You rule all trade and have free reign over our military."
Philza's eyebrow raised. "And your general?"
A dismissive hand was raised. "Do as you wish with him."
Technoblade froze. He watched a calm smile spread across Philza's face and a hand come down on his shoulder.

“And it’s just… everyone says they should visit more, and they don’t!” Tommy sighs, eyes blinded by the raging fire.
Dream sighs, lips betraying a smile, “Everyone lies to you like that?”

Summary
Phil doesn’t cry.
But as he stands before Tommy, his shoulders shaking, and his eyes shining in the moonlight, he’s about as close as he gets to it. Tommy reaches up to grab his hand with his smaller ones. He hadn’t meant to make him sad.
He just wanted to tell him how much he missed his dad!
How he didn’t mind dying if it meant Phil would be his family again.
“You’re not supposed to be this…this small. Is this how bad we failed you?” It’s barely said over a whisper. Tommy has to strain his ears to even make out the words.
“I promise Tommy,” Phil says his eyes growing a fire in them. “We’re going to make this right. We’ll make it go away.”
And under the snowfall of the arctic winds. Tommy can’t help but believe him.

He was met with silence.
Well, Bdubs wasn’t one to be deterred. Chalking the lack of response up to confusion, he continued, “Don’t worry, I know it’s a lot. But I’ve been there! I’ll help you; we can work through all these new challenges together. Guess this really is gonna explain some of those code quirks of yours, huh?”
Etho still didn’t respond, so Bdubs stopped, struck with the realization that his babbling likely wasn’t helping.
The silence sat between them for nearly a minute, before Etho’s cracking voice, properly distraught, rasped out, “This is permanent?”
