“Kacchan!” Izuku gasped, fumbling over him, words spilling over Katsuki like sheets of rain—too much and all at once, “What happened? Are you okay?” and as Katsuki felt the inviting tug of sleep pull at him once more, he realized he wasn’t going to get a lot of time to say much of anything to quell Izuku’s panic before settling completely underneath the dark current of unconsciousness.
“Quirk…” he managed, the letters slurring together in his mouth, his heartbeat coming slow and steady in his ears. The rhythm was comforting, like a lullaby softly coaxing him to sleep, and he felt his eyelids drooping again just as he forced out, “M’tired, ‘Zuku.”-
Katsuki gets hit with a sleep quirk that puts him out of commission for a few days. Izuku relives his guilt over being too late to save him. Both of them have to deal with memories from the past.

Averting his gaze, Katsuki looks down at the cat-themed vase.
“I thought you might like it,” he starts behind gritted teeth, voice notably strained under the pressure of this bizarre feeling that has consumed him. “Or something.”
“Or something,” Shouto echoes softly, stroking over the head of the cat like he’s petting a real one. Like this is something he treasures and will treasure for a lifetime.
Holy shit.
Eyes crinkled in the corners, Shouto hums.
“Katsuki,” he says, voice swathed in something far too tender. He stops short at the name, almost as if savouring the shape of it. “How would you like to be a permanent fixture in my home as well?”
Mark this down as the clumsiest yet weirdly charming confession in history.

Izuku's eyes fill with tears. "You're making fun of me, aren't you?" He wipes at his eyes. “That's mean, Kacchan."
Guilt and shame and a hundred other ugly feelings rear up inside him as he understands. Why would fourteen year old Izuku believe anything Katsuki told him? When the only Katsuki he knew was the terrible bully he'd used to be. Katsuki feels a little nauseous. He thinks about his Izuku and hopes he's okay.
