I don’t even think I can describe how amazing this is. I could reread it so many times and never get tired of it. The themes, the flow and the characterisation is all perfect and the dialogue is so potent.

Summary
It's been months since he first touched Derek, when he affirmed that he was real and not going anywhere, but the fact still hasn't really set in. Truthfully, he doesn't know if it ever will. He thinks (and hopes) that, for the rest of his life, he is going to be continually surprised (and thankful) that someone so wonderful is in his life, and all it took to find him was for his dog to run away.
(or the one with shameless domestic fluff, where everyone is happy and everybody owns a dog.)

The way this is crafted is amazing. It’s funny but also serious, and it deals with the sever PTSD brilliantly. The characters are written so well that I didn’t even need to get confirmation on who was speaking to know. Totally going to reread at some point, probably multiple times.
