Summary
After enduring an what felt like an eternity of punishment in Mu, reliving every death he caused as Kira, Light Yagami is given an unexpected second chance. The Shinigami King sends him back to his life just before the Death Note came into his possession, with the vague promise of redemption. Haunted by the crushing guilt of his past and the endless memories of his victims, Light must navigate his new reality while keeping the truth of his former life a secret.
However, a new Kira has emerged, plunging the world back into a reign of terror. Light is pulled, against his will, into the heart of the investigation once again. This time, he is not the mastermind behind the killings but the prime suspect, and the task force - most importantly, L - once again turns its gaze toward him.
Torn between proving his innocence, stopping the new Kira, and keeping his fractured sanity intact, Light must confront the ghosts of his past while treading the dangerous line between justice and madness. Will this second chance be Light’s path to redemption, or does fate actually wish to watch him crash and burn a second time?

Summary
L is used to finding the truth in data. Light is using the Death Note to bend the data to his will — and to protect the most dangerous secret on earth.
After agreeing to voluntary confinement until L is convinced of his innocence, what begins as a psychological interrogation soon spirals into something far more dangerous.
Through endless questions, teasing, and carefully measured power plays, both men begin to lose control — not just of the case, but of themselves. This story picks up from the moment Light enters solitary confinement and takes a different turn than the original plot.
It’s a slow-burn, psychologically driven, dialogue-heavy exploration of love, power, and morality — told through the shifting, intimate bond between L and Light. Also featuring:
-Ryuk, the ultimate observer of human absurdity
-Watari, who adopted and raised L, serving as the quiet and trustworthy anchor in his life
[AU note: In this story, Wammy's House does not exist. Watari adopted and raised only L.]
Other characters, such as the Task Force, appear when necessary — but the focus remains on the dynamic between L and Light.
