His mind healer kept trying to get him to feel his feelings instead of pushing them down. Granger wouldn't stop bloody annoying him. But he was fine... so why couldn't he stop thinking about dying?

Regulus stared.
James kept going, panic rising in his voice like he’d lost control of the sentence somewhere in the middle. “Like, not like out out—well actually, yes, out out, like a date, like people go on dates, like you and me, together—uh, not right now. Unless you want to. But I meant like Saturday? If you’re into that?”
A beat of stunned silence.
Regulus blinked. Once. Twice. “You… want to go on a date. With me.”-,'-
Or: James and Regulus start dating. A lot of other things (like an overprotective brother) have to be handled now. Just a developing relationship with some minor obstacles. Overall very lighthearted.
