Summary
The arrival of guests from another kingdom takes the servants of Camelot's castle in a flurry. And not just by the level of work. Due to the difference of stations, a voice to stand up for themselves at the cruel hands of arrogant and abusive nobles is often buried. Such is the same for Merlin.
Fortunately, his friends notice and are there to help.

Summary
There are distant yells, a group of knights gathered at the wall, pointing and shouting in his direction. He watches with little interest, as the group scatters like mice in the armoury, and soon the lower gate is opening. Two knights, riding full speed towards him, and Merlin swallows slowly as he recognizes the riders.
Of course.
It would've been too kind.

Summary
“So let me get this straight,” Arthur said, folding his fingers together as the man in front him awkwardly shifted. “You are under the impression if you win the favor of my servant that you will then win my favor?” he asked and the nobleman shifted again.
“Well, sire,” he said “That is the common consensus among… the chatter.”
“The chatter,” Arthur repeated and his mind flashed to all the kindness Merlin had received from other nobles. Dear God.
Or
Merlin has all of Camelot (and neighboring kingdoms) wrapped around his finger and Arthur is beginning to resign himself to the fact his servant somehow has more power than he does.

Summary
Merlin really didn’t understand why Arthur kept assigning him more guards. He was Camelot’s Court Sorcerer and, oh you know, the strongest warlock to ever live. He really didn’t need the protection, but his stupid overly protective husband just refused to see reason. Though maybe all the trouble Merlin got into every time he left the castle wasn’t helping his argument.
Or the 5 times Arthur adds a new guard to Merlin’s protection detail and the 1 time Merlin does something about it!
