Summary
Jiang Cheng, his little brother´s other best friend, was sitting in a corner of the karaoke establishment they were in, silently nursing his vodka with a pensive look on his beautiful face (his preferred drink when he felt down and just wanted to forget-). His well-known frown was more prominent than usual, and the strict tight arch of his full lips spoke of him remembering something unpleasant. But it was not that what made Nie Mingjue worry about the other, no. It was his eyes. Those blue-grey eyes that seemed to become an alluring purple when hit by candlelight in the middle of night as thunder could be heard in the distance (always looking like some kind of avenging angel that only left their guard down when in-), but those eyes now seemed to be filled with so much sorrow and pain.
Yes, he had come to known those eyes intimately, all those years ago. The ones he had said goodbye to when he thought it would be for the best (still not wanting to believe the reason behind that sadness).
But oh, how he regretted it now.

Summary
Nie Mingjue has left the family business behind. He has a new (legal) life now and it's good. It's good because he wakes up every day and go to his little pottery store and make everything that comes to his minds. Some days, his brother stops by and they both fake that he is there just to gossip and not to ask for help on things Nie Mingjue shouldn't even know anymore. It's a good life and he has let go of his previous life completely.
But it doesn't seem like his old life let go of him.
