Mary pulled away a little from her, mild disgust on her face. “What did I tell you, you’re too young to drink coffee.”

Ava wiggled in her seat, scanning the new faces. One of them, an East Asian-looking girl, sat right at the end of the bench, eating quietly by herself. She was pretty.
