Summary
When Keith found himself mentally linked to Lance of all people, he never thought that it would end in anything but irritation and misery on both sides. He certainly never imagined that it would be a useful asset in team Voltron's fight against the Galra Empire. Now if he can just keep his feelings in check, they might actually have a chance at defeating Zarkon.
Needless to say, when he'd wished for a “bonding moment” with Lance, this wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind.
(Eventual romance and mature content for later chapters).

“I don’t know.” He paused. And that naive, impulsive spark flared inside him as his eyebrows shot up. “But once I’m grown, and a pilot, I’ll come to visit you. And we can fly together as we talked about.”
Keith’s expression shifted into a prideful smirk. “Not if I become a pilot first. Then I’ll come to find you.”
Lance grinned, lopsided. “It sounds like we have a race.” He put out his hand to make it official, like his dad had done when making deals with his friends.
The prince grinned wide, his fangs on proud display. After a moment’s hesitation, he gripped Lance’s hand in his own.

Lance was tired of the secrets, tired of the lies and the helplessness and the fear that only trapped him in further. So, he made a plan to fix it.
He just never imagined that a strange sorceress would beat him to the punch.

Ropes of magic burst forth from beneath her palms, shooting out directly at Lance.
Shocked and panicking, he reeled back, tumbling out of his chair only for strings of luminescent blue to follow him. It swirled around with all the speed and power of a hurricane, lifting him right off the ground.
His hearing was muted from the cacophony of wind rushing past his ears, but a name managed to cut through the commotion enough to catch his attention.
“Keith!”
Lance’s head snapped towards the voice, ignoring his father and Allura’s shouting to find Keith trapped in the same magic imbued twister as him.
He desperately reached out, struggling frantically as he saw Keith thrash uselessly against the barrage.
The last thing he heard was the sorceress calling out over the chaos.
“By the ancient spirits’ powers, let your secrets be secrets no longer!”
Then, everything went black.
