Summary
“Right, well…” Eddie rubs the back of his head. “If you want, you’re free to spend the night at ours. I know you’re probably gonna be tired still and I thought that, uh, it might be nice. It didn’t seem right letting you go home alone after everything you did.”
-
After the tsunami, Eddie invites Buck to stay with him and Christopher.

Summary
Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”

Or: Adriana arrives in LA. Maddie has been here the whole time.

Summary
Tommy has a very large house. He knew it didn’t make sense: he was a single man, no family to speak of, living in an expensive city… But he’d gotten it cheap because it needed a lot of work (in fairness, so did he) and maybe, just maybe, one day he would be able to fill that stupidly big house with the family he’d been craving for so many years.
And then he gets pulled back into the 118 and meets Evan Buckley, who has a very extensive (found) family but is still searching for the elusive puzzle piece that will make him truly feel like he’s found his place.
Together, they build their home.

Or, the one where Tommy and Buck help each other find what they’ve been looking for: home.
