Summary
My first fic of 2020! This was based on a Tumblr prompt. The pairing wasn’t specified for this one, so I’ve gone for Stucky. This can be read as taking place in the same universe as I Spy With My Little Eye or it can be a one shot, whichever you prefer!

Summary
Bucky bites his bottom lip, trying to find the right words to explain this to Steve but coming up short. “Sometimes I just like to feel – pretty. You know?”
Steve looks very serious when he says, “You look plenty pretty to me, Buck. Always have.”
And Bucky knows he means it. He can see it in Steve’s eyes every time he looks at him.
“I know,” he says softly. “But I just like making myself look nice. There’s something about the process, the pampering, the grooming… I can’t really explain it, I just know it makes me feel… good. About myself.”
“Okay,” Steve nods. “That’s great, Buck. You should do whatever makes you feel good.”

Summary
A few times, Sebastian catches him staring, and gives him an odd look.
“You okay, Chris?” he asks, the third time it happens.
Despite the fact that he’s an actor, Chris knows he tends to be a bad liar and wear his emotions on his sleeve, but he prays Sebastian will buy his white lie just this once.
“Fine, yeah fine,” Chris assures him. “Just a little tired, I’ll be back to normal tomorrow.”
Sebastian gives him a sympathetic smile, and Chris feels like the worst kind of scum.

“Chris. This is literally the most remote road I could find on the map and we’re half hidden by those trees anyway. We’re fine.”

Summary
Steve is so busy cursing the heavens that he almost fails to notice the motorcar that turns around the corner, but he manages to jump out of the way just in time. His shoulder bumps against a shop window, and that’s when something colorful catches his eye.
He’s looking at the window of a candy story, or at a jar filled to the brim with candy hearts, to be precise. Sweethearts, they’re called now: little multicolored pieces of candy that each have a word stamped into them.
On a whim, Steve pushes open the door to the shop and steps inside.

So?” Scott asks after a while. “You wanna tell me how you’re really doing?”
A little hesitantly, Chris says, “I don’t know what to tell you that you don’t already know.”
“Sure you do,” Scott says easily. “How ‘bout you start with telling me why you were going around telling everyone you were going to take a break from acting, only to then sign up to two big new projects in the past month or so?”
Chris picks at the label of his beer bottle, looking a little sheepish. “Ah,” he says. “I was kinda hoping everyone’d forgotten about that.” He sighs, dragging a hand over his face. “I mean, I was honestly planning on taking a break, but then I had a couple of weeks off and I just- I just realized I would have all this free time on my hands and no one to spend it with, you know?”
There it is, Scott thinks.

Summary
Chris walks into the office that’s set up like a small film set: two simple folding chairs set up on a worn rug in front of some antique, mahogany cabinets, giving the appearance of nonchalant sophistication. Next to the chairs are some studio lights and reflectors, and two cameras, one behind each chair. Chris hikes up the knees of his dress pants before sits down on one of the folding chairs, crossing his legs and tapping his pen against the papers resting on his knee while they wait for Representative Stan to arrive.
After a minute or two, the door behind Chris opens, and he gets up, ready to greet the Representative. He turns with a smile, which freezes on his face as he comes face to face with the guy he’s supposed to be interviewing.
Fuck, he’s gorgeous.
